Most of them weren't even related to the movie. "Emma, you wore a stunning dress yesterday. How do you deal with being a woman in cinema?" How does that have anything to do with this film?
currently majoring in communication and, whether the journalists made such uninteresting questions because 1. that's all they could come up with 2. their bosses told them what to ask or 3. both of them, this pained me to watch
Honestly I don't get how there's not more breakdowns and rage moments on these film panels. I wouldn't be able to stand it if it was consistently as bad as this one. I don't even think something like that would harm your image either, in fact it'll probably help it but actors all seem to be a little robotic
This comment was perfectly said and unfortunately can be said for so so many interviews on movie press tours, not to discount those few that are usually independent interviewers that put good effort in their job.
It seems like there are different rules and ethics in journalism, but my disappointment and expertise on journalism grow when journalists don't think outside the box. They seem to only ask questions provided by their media stations and don't consider asking questions about other members of the movie team. It's as if they are excluding them as if they were part of the security team.
You can see immediately what sort of a director he is with how relaxed and comfortable and casual the actors are around him, while Coppolla is great, his press conference was markedly stilted and awkward, he's a great visionary but infamously not an actors-director or something, Lanthimos clearly has his actors that he loves to work with, and who clearly love to work with him, its nice to see for a change. Not every director has to be a tortured visionary
The two type of questions: -Emma how do you feel the role of the rhinoceros in this film and you role in feminism as a woman? -Emma how it was the preparation for this role? And do you like dogs? How many times do you dye your hair?
He's so handsome! I hope he's happy, i hope they're both happy. Six years is a long time. Relationships break up, but all the publicity and speculation must be hard.
They aren't even humans the way they all say their company at the start in the same way then read out a question that is seemingly whispered into their ear by someone else in a different language on the spot lol. Truly embarrassing.
I never understood why the people most lucky and important for interviewing on these panels have literally the worst questions of all time? Like you only get one how do you mess it up every damn time?! And these people work in journalism?!
WTF is happening with journalists these days? None of them was actually able to formulate a clear and pertinent question, nor even articulate a sensible phrase till the end.
@@redcomet0079 what’s sad is that you’re so miserable that you go around harass people for their opinions, this is like my 4th time seeing you do this. Get a life
Jesse Plemons is show such a great actor! Emily Stone is obviously great too but it is unfortunate that people focus just on her (and Joe who is ok but not anywhere near Jesse's level)
HAHSJAHSH damn, the woman at 18:55 has had always the dream of interviewing Emma, and now that she has only one oportunity to talk to her makes her 30 questiones in one
I'm here because I loved Kinds of Kindness and I am trying to make sense of what I saw. This is the longest video I've found so far and has the least amount of info. Even Jimmy Fallon had better questions.
I think is all about perspectives and reflecting. The same way the directors mind is when storytelling the same way his getting questions. However I do agree that most of them obviously are there for the heck of Cannes (IG world) but not for the craft . And I believe one publicist got fired that day
it looks like me during exams :D like asking nonsense questions and I am like: what the f*** is the question about :DI had this feeling during watching the press :D I laugh so much as it was very similar to my experience :D and this: 17:40 is basically me during german lesson
The way Emma answered the question about the importance of women in cinema was disappointing. Now I understand why she never has female collaborators with her! Disappointing!
i was going to say, this coupled with the response to the feminism question left a bad taste for me personally. i don't understand why these celebrities are so magnificently ignorant about very real questions concerning gender and equality all in the name of not being viewed as "political." and when all the women in the panel laughed off the question about what difficulties they face??? i was so confused.
Do you not think what 40 minutes for this it;s to much - it;s not funny - France journalist says good think - just check 60x France movies ) Emma from Australia
It is sad to see so many actors sitting on the table and nobody asks them anything except for Yorgos and Emma. It's like they cared very little about the actual movie, the characters and the plot. It can't be that everything is around "how is it working with Yorgos or how much Emma likes these characters". Having said that, there were though some questions aiming to really analyse the characters and the film(s), but I find very poor the response both of the director and the actors. Once we had directors like Eisenstein, Tarkovsky, Bergman, Angelopoulos, Taviani and many others who would elaborate on their methods, messages and characters. And here they can't even speak a few sentences of what they are creating. Brilliant actors/actresses. But Is it at the end all about acting? Are nowadays' movies so shallow?!
sorry I'm progressive and all, but how on Earth do you navigate showing these films and roles with your daughter once she grows up ? what does that conversation even look like ? she will defo get bullied in school as well but I guess she can be home schooled. it's good to be comfortable with your body, but to just accept the worst depictions of yourself on screen is insane . Emma should reevaluate if it's worth working with this guy going forward
I've been thinking that also. Why is she taking on spicy roles like this at her age and now that she is married and has a child? She was already an A-list actor with an Oscar then after 2016 it seems like she wanted to shed her cute and wholesome image. I don't get it.
Oh, yes he is a lover of gore, but he really is a nice guy. I loved Emma in La La Land, Crazy Stupid Love and several others, but this director can get her to do literally anything and everything. Rated R by the Motion Picture Association “for strong/disturbing violent content, strong sexual content, full nudity and language.” No more family oriented anything. Tell me there isn't foreplay with produce.
I liken his movies to designer clothes. Just for modeling but not for consumption. I have not enjoyed any of his movies and think they are just fir the "art crowd."
Honestly, are there any actresses who would be brave enough to admit they are not a “feminist”? Stone’s contribution to Poor Things isn’t feministic or bold or brave. If anything, she is simply and single-handedly reviving Old School sex and nudity in cinema.
The question where she’s addressed as “Emily” is at about the 21:13 mark for anyone wondering!
Bless you
Bless you

You are an angel, thank you so much

With all due respect, most of these questions were not remotely interesting or thoughtful. To me at least.
Welcome to the press conference at Cannes. They send the same illiterate bozos there every year. Its truly embarrassing. Respect is earned.

Joe Alwyn slayed it with his answer “trust him…trust him….” Great sounding voice too. I can’t wait to see this movie! Joe Alwyn 💙💙😎!
Ah, the Cannes press corps. Forever the keeper of the most annihilatingly reductive questions. Never change, fellas.
This is holy work they are doing. I look forward to seeing the film.

This is the biggest joke of a press meet with some of the coolest film crews !

I have no clue how she will show this movie to her kid when they're grown up. poor them
This is basically the Emma and Yorgos show. 🤣Literally all the questions are for those two. The rest of the cast are chop liver.
because they are wondering how a high profile actress could accept a role with cannibalism and orgies
