    Wow! This is both different and fascinating, Don! And what a backstory!!!
    This has a lot of possibilities for displaying Sci Fi models, from "Star Wars" to "Warhammer 40K." If you made the floor wider and left out the center control station; it would make a great hanger bay or garage for displaying vehicles as well as figures. I also hope you also have some plans for modular, Sci Fi bases and building façades (along the lines of your WW2 bases) to line shelves for a rotating display of Sci Fi subjects. (These could even double for wargaming terrain.)
