    I think keeping the origin and cause of the blight a secret would be a good idea as its fun to speculate what could it be.
    Perhaps it was something that was meant to be beneficial that had gone wrong. Like genetic engineering fungus to deal with a food shortage or perhaps to find ways to feed astronauts on another colony (assuming this formerly advance robot building civilization had any space travel tech). And it all went south from there. Perhaps during the transportation of some of the samples ended up in an accident which released the modified spores into the world.

      Eric did mention that some of the more affluent members of this society did escape off-world during the breakout of the Blight. So space travel is a thing.
      Personally I think the whole "science gone wrong" trope has been overused. What would be neat would be if the Blight was the result when a particular animal that fed on the fungus and hence kept it in check either died off or switched to a more abundant food source. Leaving the Blight to grow uncontrollably and have such a serious effect on the planet.

    Because of the coriolis effect winds typically move in different directions depending on height (the resulting structure is known as an Ekman spiral). If the Draneena can sense wind direction it probably has an idea of what this Ekman spiral generally looks like and can probably use it to move in specific directions albeit inaccurately (this is how hot air balloons can alter which way they go). Just an idea.

    One interesting detail I noticed while you were doing the salt-thing is that, while covered in paint, the salt looked like a kind of barnacle or "growth" of some kind. You could call it "barnacle spores" or something similar and use it in some other build that happens in a heavily blighted area.

    My question is how would the children born in the era of the blight learn and be educated. Would there be an underground school? Or would every parent teach their child?

    • @gameyybuilds
      @gameyybuilds  2 года назад +4

      For the Overs, who were mostly of royal blood or wealthy families, they were able to continue to provide somewhat of a normal education to their children by setting up their own classes and employing private tutors. Their curriculum changed little after the Blight.
      On the other hand, while the Unders continued to educate their children in public schools (something made possible by their population density), the subjects taught changed drastically, with a focus on echolocation and music, speleology (the study of caves), mycology (the study of mushrooms), subterranean biology, metallurgy, and post-Blight-era history.
      Of course, the latter was heavily influenced by their disdain for the Overs, something reflected in their texts when discussing the Blight, which was almost always referred to as "tika-tika meng" (trickle down poison), a clever play on the Agesian words used for the small coins given to beggars by wealthy passersby.

      Hi there! The term is "greeblies" (sometimes called "greebles"). They refer to tiny details, usually from toys, model kits, or even electrical components, that are glued on to a build to give it added detail.

      It depends on the style of robot you’re making. For my style, gundam model bits are a main material,
