- Human astronauts cross a lifeless, barren Martian landscape when they suddenly discover an alien statue, hidden in the mountain range with unexpected life growing in the direct vicinity... kick starting... life on Mars.
EDIT: My apologies about the audio. I had a copyright claim on some of the music even though the music I used was supposed to have been copyright free. I got RUclips to auto remove the music and it made a bit of a mess with the narration.

Mars is in reach of humans now, what other planet do you think we should try and visit next?
Why not try Jupiter or Venus.
Oh I know Neptune on the moon Triton.
Or Jupiters moon Europa or I.O.
Or visiting Saturn's 🪐 moon titan.
This does looks great but I think it could have used a little bit more work to make it more convincing.
But I thought you might want to do the backrooms idea I had if you remember.
I also had that raise the titanic diorama idea I suggested.
But whatever you want to do next is fine with me.
Mission Control: "Congratulations on being the first to walk on the surface of Mars!"
Astronaut 1: "Do you want to tell them?"
Astronaut 2:" Hell, no, man!"
That's a crazy situation to be in. I would be thinking... 'are they still here'?
It's criminal that this video only has 16k views. It's deserving of much more. I wasn't sure about the grass, but once you added the alien plants I think it really worked. Good job
Thanks for watching
Much like the astronauts are being overwhelmed that they have just found proof of alien life on mars, I am doing the same thing with your diorama! Amazing work!
Thanks for watchng
Somehow, using words like "incredible," "fantastic," or even "awesome" to describe this diorama all fall short. The best I can do is to say that this is probably the most imaginative, well-executed diorama that I've seen anywhere in months!
I especially like the statue; kind of a Cyberpunk take on Akhenaten. I also like the body-language of the astronauts that suggests shock and awe at their discovery. I get the idea that they were so distracted by the statue, they have yet to notice the flora.
Thanks for sharing this with us!
290th like.
Thank you so much.
Simple builds can be thought provoking when they have a good idea. Like this one. Maybe named "First mission to Mars". Also loved the music choice for the glamour shots.
Good idea for the title. Thanks for watching
Very cool build. Love the idea of the statue kickstarting life on Mars. David Bowie is vindicated. That statue is freaking gorgeous.
I was looking for a statue that was kinda gothic and when I saw this one... there was no second guessing.
A very simple diorama that tells a great story. Well done.
Thanks for watching
I love it! It reminds me of the very old Sci-Fi book covers released in the 80s. I have fond memories from that era of covers and books! 😂
I love those covers. Amazing Stories had some great covers.
Love your use of color shift paints, it gives the statue an otherworldly feel. Really respect your restraint with the plants, Id have over done it, the purple, blue into the mystic gold just looks cool.
I was on the fence on how many plants to put there. I was going to use heaps as if life had exploded in that area but keeping the restraint gives is a feeling as it's taken a little while for it to develop. Thanks for watching.
@@ScaleModelGeek I could see increasing the density closer to the entity to make it more explicit where the growth is coming from
This is great! May I make one comment, however? I kind of wish the two human astronauts looked a little more like the "traditional" astronauts we're familiar with. The colors and especially the shape of the helmets makes them look a bit alien as well. Again, fantastic job! 👍🏻
I get what you mean. Thanks for watching
Awesome diorama and a wonderful statue! Maybe the two astronauts should have some kind of a transportrover...
It's just over the hill. Thanks for watching
The diorama looks really good. It's just a lot of red tones throughout. The statue really pops out as the focal point. The astronauts blend in to the base. Not sure if that was an accident or planned. Great concept and work on it.
I agree about a lot of red but I really wanted the alien statue to 'pop' out of the landscape as it show it doesn't belong there. I think the red on the space suits counteracted the yellow and made the astronauts blend in a bit more than I had hoped. Thanks for watching
Looks like a cover to a science fiction pulp magazine. Very well done.
That's awesome. I love those old covers. Thanks for watching
I really cannot unsee that you used devastators backpack on these astronauts
They were the only ones that came close to looking like spacesuit backpacks and I still had to get rid of the jets. Thanks for watching
I LOVE IT! It looks like it's straight from the cover of an old pulp magazine. Amazing or Astounding.
Amazing Stories had some great cover art
Very creative idea!! Awesome job!!!
Thanks
The end result really blew me away. From the idea to the execution, you did an amazing job on this! Cheers!
Thanks for watching
Cool as always!
Awesome looking Mars landing 😊
Thanks
Those colors look great. Nicely done.
Thanks
Very creative, absolutely love it. Outstanding diorama
Even simple and quick builds can sometimes yield so much story. Thanks for watching.
That color shift paint worked out really well. Especially with the metallic dry brush, it gives such a nice subtle hue without being overpowering.
It was a bit of a challenge trying to create something that felt it was 'alien'. I just didn't want it to be metallic. Thanks for watching
If you want deep oranges and yellows with less paint, undercoat with pink.
I'll have to try that
I learned it from Barbatos Rex. He's launching his own paint line soon.
THe Hero shots, give it real Depth mate, love your work
Thanks buddy
Congratulations on a great build. Very nice.
Thanks
Great concept and great execution!
Thanks buddy.
That turned out super awesome!!! The statue is really cool looking, and indeed would be a very interesting discovery.
How does one comprehend coming across something like that? Thanks for watching
Oh I like that Lohengrin !
It´s a pleasing composition ( from an artists view I say ). 🙂
Thanks you
Your channel was in my feed this morning. New subscriber.
Thanks so much for the sub.
Awesome Build.
Well done. Makes a presence!
Thanks
I love these little dioramas. Where they tell a story and you can stare at them and juts be transported with your imagination.
It's amazing how much story you can fit into a simple diorama
Well done Mate! Thingiverse is a fantastic place and I love all of the free to use models people put up there. There are some real talented artists there. A fantastic resource for model builders. I really like your theme and your idea of the Cosmonauts coming across this "Art-deco" style monolith, you did a bang-up job on painting it mate, the added alien foliage was a noice touch! LOL Keep up the great work!
Thingiverse is the best and now I have some basic knowledge of Blender, I can make small adjustments to the files so they suit. Thanks for watching
Whoa, impressive!
Thanks
Um, Larry, we should probably get back to the ship…!
That ain't gonna help. LOL
that statue looks like its from the Fallout universe
That statue is such an awesome design
Very nicely done. I love the statue... and I could see a group of archaeologists later digging the rock away to find the base... and finding a door in the thing... making it a skyscraper building rather than a statue. 🥰Your diorama does have a way of making a person think. Thank you.
That would have been a great idea to have had some type of entrance at the bottom. Thanks for watching
Such talent and skill 🥰🥰
Thanks
What a fun build, I love the art deco/Metropolis vibe of the statue.
Yeah, when I saw the statue... Metropolis is what came to mind. Thanks for watching
nice build, subscribed.
Thanks so much for the sub
Very cool dio!
Thanks for watching
I always enjoy the stories you tell while building your dioramas.
I struggle with that area as I'm still not comfortable doing voice-overs but I am getting better at it. Thanks for watching
I'd love a hobby like this in my latter years but with hand tremors I seem to have picked up it wouldn't go well. However, watching videos like your's (especially hearing the narration and your mind ticking over) I can relax in my recliner and not have to clean up the mess.
Loved the way this one turned out, really great work. 👍
I'm glad by builds can fill a void. Thanks for watching
Pretty cool 👍
Thanks for watching
A ex soviet union abandoned missile Silo would make a brilliant diorama
How about an abandoned Soviet base on Mars?
Oh the irony that the paint color is called Earth.
Yeah, one of my friends pointed that out.
Planet Vegeta
Well done.👍
Thanks
I’m pretty sure the statue 3d model is from fallout four.
I have since found out that it is. Thanks for watching
Would you be interested in sharing your bench top vacuum attachment plans?
That looks like the robotic child of the Iron Giant and the News of the World by Queen robot.
I agree. There are also Akhenaten or Ozymandias vibes to this alien (native to Mars?) colossi.
It a very cool looking statue.
I love this style of build. But I really miss the figure statue ones you did.
I enjoyed them for a while but then just needed a better challenge so I started doing more dioramas.
@@ScaleModelGeek I fully understand. And I am enjoying watching your new direction. I just miss them every now and then.
Just came over from Facebook. Great concept, great execution.
Thanks so much
Hey did enybody els realize that that statue is in fallout 4 on most buildings i love it😊❤
Thanks
Now that's very cool. What brand of 3d resin printer are you using? Could you do a future video of your 3d set up? Many thanks and thank you for sharing.
I use the Anycubic Mono X with the Anycubic Basic resin
Thank you sir and have a better day!@@ScaleModelGeek
Ahh should have used the gold hypershift on the astronaust helmet visors..
Good idea. Thanks for watching
Vraiment chouette j’adore le style 50
Thanks
Cool
Thanks
This is a beautiful diorama.
Do you think you could have achieved the desired mirror finish on the helmets with a few clear coats, or wouldn't that work on the chrome paint?
Chrome works by doing a thick coat then it turns to a mirror finish. Without that finish... it just looks like silver paint.
@@ScaleModelGeek Okay, then what I suggested wouldn't work. Thank you for explaining!
The reason for my idea is that I've seen others create glassy effects like that, with thick clear coats or even resin. I'm sure you've seen that too.
If you're using a specific medium to achieve that effect, it makes sense that you can't apply some other technique to "save" the situation if it doesn't work.
(I'm not trying to explain this to you, since you obviously are the one with experience here. I'm mostly trying to explain it to myself, and I'm leaving it in for the benefit of anyone else with the same question.)
The diorama turned out great in any case. I like the alien "plants", suggesting an abandoned attempt at terraforming the planet, perhaps?
Drybrush paint? Good god, we'll buy anything. Looks like we've all been drybrushing wrongly all this time.
I used to use the thick paint that accumulated at the bottom of Tamiya paints and now... they have drybrushing paints. Thanks for watching
@@ScaleModelGeek I just use 'paint' but, what are you going to do with the dried up cack at the bottom of them lol
Do you publish your videos in the "entertainment" category or the "How-to" category? In which category do you publish your videos?
Entertainment
How many dollars do RUclipsrs get paid for 1000 views in the Entertainment category?@@ScaleModelGeek
Wait... What do you mean by:" if humans were to be first on Mars"
Are we in a race? Who else would.... OMG .... Are the crabs mobilizing?!
Bahahahaha... not again!! Thanks for watching
What is the name of the statue you used from thingiverse Sir.
I just typed in 'statue' in the search bar. Thanks for watching
By the way: I don´t believe it´s mars !
It´s the Pentecost Island ! ( not the Easter Island ! ) 🙂
Oh sorry, the Pentecost Island really exist !!!! 😞
I always had Metropolis on my mind when I saw the statue. Thanks for watching
What is the name of the statutue on Thingiverse?
Fallout Torso Statue
Is Purply a real word? Waiting to hear back from Webster.
It will be once I get enough people repeating it. LOL. Thanks for watching
Very cool mate, love the move to add some flora. I have found GW Bad Moon Yellow contrast over white/cream primer is a great yellow option.
I just thought the flora just added a touch more mystery to the discovery. Thanks for watching
Anyone have a link for the alien statue?
In Thingiverse, I just typed in 'statue' in the search bar but that was a while ago so I don't have a direct link.
This looks amazing!
Thank you
06:35 what is this white mass?
Plaster Of Paris.
Scary situation for the explorers.
"let's get back to Earth buddy".
Another great diorama. 👌😊
It's not like they could just run away. LOL. Thanks for your support.
I love your explanation for the grass: „I’m the artist and ruler of this universe and here it is like that. Accept it!“
That’s way better than some techno babble for a not story essential component.
Correct. I am the God of this diorama. LOL. Thanks for watching
This was an incredible build I think it looks like the Martian planets surface like in real life
Thanks Cole.
