Awesome review. Dude Im right there with you about light up buttons or controls on the deck. But in this case I have to say the light up ball looks incredible with the cab. I will definitely be getting this if I get this cabinet. GRS!
I hope they reissue this cabinet with a custom riser , and all the other bells and whistles of the newer cabinets, I would buy and put in my home arcade. Glad you got this , this is on my most want!
Dude the old trackball is like playing with weights on it compared to Glen's. I didn't know it was that bad and thought maybe I'm not good at Missile Command anymore until I went to an arcade I was like oh god I need to fix this immediately haha
@@ProjectGenesisMusic Dude!!!, the original Missile Command had a huge trackball with volcano buttons :P Too each their own, I do fine on Missile Command, mostly wanted cab for Centipede.
Centipede was the first game I ever played and why I got this when it first came out. That of course led to my modding craze with 2 other machines haha. Glen's trackball is the only mod I've done with Centipede and man what a difference especially with Missile Command it was almost unplayable for me before, but with how often my fire button dies(I've replaced it with spare buttons twice now) I might end up modding it for trackball/spinner games. Also trust me modding these is just as easy as installing Glen's trackball. I was scared at first, but I learned don't give up before you start.
Great review Michael B. I hope they make another new Centipede cab in the future that has a lite marquee, riser and deck protector. Talk to Glen and ask him to make a Golden Tee trackball, I think a lot of people would buy it. Thanks for the review.
You are welcome Jolly and thank you! I hope they do too. The fact they plan on selling the lit up marque gives me hope for that. I think the 12-1 John D mentioned is cool but I would prefer to play centipede on the vertical screen and not the square one the original 12-1 came with. Hmm I will ask him about Gokden Tee, but sure why he hasn’t tackled it already.
Speaking of the coolness of the side art the band The Strokes used the side art of Centipede on the album Reptilia. Check it out in Google images. The Centipede art is iconic in my opinion.
Do they make one that looks like the original cue ball? I hate that it looks transparent when not lit and DEFINITLY do NOT want to light my trackball. I want it to be as close to the orig arcade as possible.
I'm almost positive the Walmart near me had this cabinet at a whopping $40. I asked why they were so cheap, long story short they were making room for the TMNT and NBA JAM cabinets.
I’m looking to purchase this but will it work well for Golden Tee and marble madness? Those need a fairly free rolling ball? Is the 2” size an issue playing golden tee? Or is a 3” best?
Love this Cabinet! It’s one of my favorite cabs I have. Out of all the games, Millipede is the game I play the most. I’m ok with the stock track ball, I’m not that comfortable with those steps you mentioned for Glenn’s retro track ball , looks cool though.
I just noticed your framed movie posters. We must think similar because i have framed posters in my game room of jason takes manhattan, elm street 1 and 3, friday 13th 7, freddys dead and jason goes to hell. Btw love army of darkness
Great review! I just picked up this cab & was wondering if you had any tips on where to get a plexi overlay for the controls? You said you got one from someone? 1up website no longer has them ☹️
Michael B love the review. I think you channel is awesome. I have a question as Centipede is one of my and my wifes favorite games of all time. SInce it is one of few arcades my wife likes I am pretty familar with the game, Only you could answer this question as you have the Legends Ultimate and the Centipede 1 Up cabinet. How would you compare Centipede on the 1 Up verses the Legends Ultimate? Can you give me a gameplay review or comparison? Which do you prefer? Are they about the same? How was Centipede with the stock 1 Up trackball? We now play Centipede with a real Happ trackball through MAME at home on a custom control panel. Love the video as Centipede is one of my favorite arcades. I thought about getting a real Centipede right befor the pandemic. We were at a pinball event and saw an real arcade Centipede in great shape restored in Atlanta for six hunded bucks before COVID 19 but no way to take the super heavy cabinet home in my Honda hybrid. Arcade cabs are insanely bulky and heavy and {you better have a truck and a dolly). Glenn seems like an awesome dude, Thanks again. Brad
Hi Brad, it’s tough to answer that question honestly. It depends what else you want the cab for. If it’s just to play centipede well I suggest getting the Arcade1Up if possible and changing out the trackball for Glen’s because I mean Glen’s trackball is amazing and the screen size is just a little bit bigger on the 1up (standard Centipede and nit the 12-1). But if you want something that will let you play all these games plus more and don’t want to change out the trackball then the Legends Ultimate is the next choice because the trackball is great plus you get all the games from the Asteroids cab and Space Invaders cab and BurgerTime cab and they all control pretty great. Tough call.
Would this trackball work with a modded Arcade1up cabinet running off an old computer tower? Anyway pretty cool you scored on that Centipede and the trackball looks great too man!
The stock trackball is fine. It's not a must- replace like the spinner. Honestly, I'm not that impressed with the GRS trackball. It's more sensitive, but still feels like a cheap, Chinese trackball. The bearings are rough and noisy and just doesn't feel like a quality piece. I have one of the first trackballs made, maybe the newer ones are better.
The original ball is absolute garbage causing nothing but frustration and regret right out of the box. This experience made me never buy another 1UP product.
I also have this cabinet and it might have been the most underrated first wave cabinet of all. So Beautiful and so much fun
Awesome! I need the GRS track ball. Definitely a beautiful cab
Thanks Todd and I 100% agree if you have a centipede get your hands on this thing
Great review. Any idea when the new trackball will be available?

Centipede was my first 1UP cab, actually like the original trackball that came with it, haven't had any issues with it.
I liked it too but after using Glen’s I am very very glad I replaced it
@@MichaelBtheGameGenie If something goes wrong with it, will most likely pick up Glen's version.

Excellent Review and Install Tutorial, Michael B. !
You have a good brother! That trackball looks great too.
Man I have a great brother and it’s cool right?
Awesome! Another arcade review by the man!
Thanks brother!

Great review the art work is a big part of the experience.
Set the trackball to green matches cab and in dark room the marquee lights up like a blacklight poster.
The Man. The Myth. The Legend. The Genie. Well done.
Thank you so much PDubs!

I didn’t know that. Thanks Brad!
Master Glen’s products are from another arcadasphere🏁❤️🌈🕹
After trying the trackball I certainly agree
Just picked up this cabinet on clearance. Haven't opened it yet but heard the trackball is better upgraded
Rad! Im gonna keep my eye on version 3!
Great addition!
Thanks Jason. I’m very very happy with this cab especially after upgrading the Trackball. Now I just need a lit Marquee and I am set

I'm glad Micheal Bay can take some time off just to enjoy his Arcade games.
Ha I don’t know how to respond
Does anyone have a link to the color dip switch for the trackball? Like, Left Up, Middle Up, Right Down = red or something? thnx
What's the link for the track ball? I just lucked into a centipede cabinet locally for 130 and would like to buy the exact one you put in in the video

I do not see the link for the tackball- can you post that please.
Where do I get one of these
they sent me a defective one lol. Track ball works great but the l.e.d doesn't turn on.
Where or how can the trackball be bought?

Went to amazon store and there was no listing for his track ball...:( Damn and there is a cab not far from me for sale.. Will he make more??

I remember Charles Barkley in the Right Guard commercials
Love me some Centipede 💪!
I remember watching your video after you picked it up n that’s kind of what fueled me to get my own. I mean the sale was the final straw and all
@@MichaelBtheGameGenie I still need to do this trackball mod. So much to do, so little time man!
Does this fit on party cades?
Great review! Do you know if Glen's trackball will fit the countercade or partycade?

Nope that’s a different animal sadly, I heard that one was pretty good
