    One of my all time favourite pedals, there are so many ways of using the sound on sound and non-whooshy delay time slider that people don't know about that are really useful. Have been thinking about making a video exploring those features...

    It's actually been discontinued for a while, but used ones keep popping up on ebay and Reverb. It's an awesome pedal, just takes up some space on the pedalboard. On the other hand, the fact that it's so big and that the controls are so accessible means that you can operate the most important controls with your foot while playing.

    The Sound on Sound thing is a bit like the Hold function on my Boss DD-5, and I can't find a use for that either.

    I have this Danelectro pedal, and I've had it for years. I have not thought about it, or seen a video about it in a looooooong time, until today. After watching several videos again, I'm still a bit confused about the "sound on sound" button and how it's supposed to be used. I keep seeing players state, "What you CAN do," and they all do something different. Such confusion is coming back to me from the last time I used it, probably back in 2010! I guess it's time to take it out. Wahi' Valleys

    Love this pedal. It's probably a bit bigger than necessary, but I find that the unusual form factor is part of its appeal and has made it something of an obscure cult item (among the few who know that it exists). Soundwise I think it's the best tape-style delay in its price range (obviously it's no El Capistan). Pity Danelectro discontinued this about two or three years ago. Bought mine used on ebay for a decent price and have it in heavy operation. Danelectro should seriously consider making an updated version of this.

      I would love it if they did, plus added tap tempo.

    It’s fun to do sound on sound and then play with the slider- you inevitably end up with a weird unreproducible rhythm that’s fun to jam along to especially on drums

    they missed a trick with the sound on sound,it's best function is if you're playing with the repeats on halfway and over is that when you step on the sos switch it lets the delays trail off while still playing clean,whereas if you just turn the delay off there are no trails,very handy

  • @cortical1
    @cortical1 4 года назад

    It's too big, it doesn't have tap tempo, it looks kind of corny or cheap, changing the interval doesn't act like a real tape echo, but despite all this I keep mine and use it all the time because it just really sounds great--with clean and distorted guitars and with synth sounds of all types. It has a depth and complexity that does sound like the richness of analog and the 1500 ms delay is nothing to scoff at.
