  • In this video I show how to use a portable washing machine by Tectake and mention some of the pros and cons. The pros and cons are also summarized bellow. Thank you for watching!
    Product mentioned:
    Tectake Portable Washer - www.tectake.de...
    cca 130 € / 145 USD / 210 AUD
    Advantages of this washer:
    - affordable
    - small: can be used in small apartments or campers
    - easy to use
    - a round of washing takes 30-45 min
    - uses a third to a half of detergent as a normal washer would
    Disadvantages:
    - more time consuming: you can't just put the clothes in and take them out hours later washed, but you have to be there 'all the time' to move the clothes from washer section to drier section and back
    - leaves clothes dustier and more wrinkled than normal washer
    Overall would recommend and would buy again.
    Disclaimer: I'm not sponsored by Tectake and was not given the washer to review.
    If you enjoyed the video, please give it a 'thumbs up' and subscribe to the channel.

    What you didn't explain in the vid is the water intake openings in the top, I myself also fill the washer with my shower head but the right intake opening is actually meant for the spinner to rinse your clothes, so what you're supposed to do is turn on the spinner let it spin for around a minute so most of the water is out and then use the intake opening to add water while the spinner is running, this will rinse your clothes.

      A very good tip, i'd love to remove one step of the process from this whole thing, and possibly even rinse the clothes more thoroughly.

    I love my portable washing machine! This one is also super awesome! I found an issue that all of these machines have, due to the powerful rotation, your laundry will get tangled up into a large knot during the washing cycle. Your clothing, sheets, and towels will be twisted around each other the entire time and that’s actually not cleaning anything since your laundry detergent works on agitation. Your laundry is not agitating being swirled around in a knotted up, tangled mess...BUT I found a solution to this problem and posted a video on how to fix it! Check it out. Your laundry will be cleaner and you won’t have to untangle a huge mess every time!

    The seller on amazon wrote that the spinning speed is 1350 rpm. Is it not too violent for delicate clothes? 1200 rpm on a classic machine would already damage them and instantly make them look old. Would you be so kind to tell me if you have tried to spin dry delicate clothes and how did it go? Thank you so much for your time and for your video !

      I think I washed&spinned merino wool a couple of times (turned out fine), but nothing more delicate. If I had to guess I'd say that washing the clothes in this machine is going to damage them more than spinning them, judging by the amount of fluff cought by the mesh. But a very good point indeed, I didn't even think about that when I was buying the washer.

      I know this doesn’t answer ur question but for delicates you’re better off just letting it soak in the sink! Hand wash is best for ur clothes to stay nice longer.

    Do you still recommend this after this time? And do it clean the clothes with once time?

    • @tidysoul5894
      @tidysoul5894  4 года назад

      I do still recommend it. I always washed clothes only once (as shown in the video) and I never felt like they weren't clean enough. I washed with water that had 50°C (max allowed) which is in my opinion very comparable to 'normal' washing machines where I would use 40°C or 60°C to get clothes clean.

    why is there so much fluff on your stuff were they like that before you put them in

    • @tidysoul5894
      @tidysoul5894  4 года назад +1

      the filter in the washer is very small, so it catches some of the fluff, but not a lot... during the time i was using this washer, i couldn't find a solution for the fluff :/

    • @a.b.5634
      @a.b.5634 Год назад

      I was asking myself the same question. That's pretty bad fluff. Eighter the machine is very agressive on the clothes, or they are not good quality. I think 100% cotton should not fluff in 15 minute washing like this. My mother used to have a semiautomatic machine like this (without a filter) when I was a child (that was 45 years ago) and our clothes were not full of fluff at all.

      I don't think a blanket would fit in, unless it was very thin. But bed sheets and other linen I had no problem washing in there.

    its a spinner not a dryer

  • @a.c.1474

    A poor review I'm afraid. All the important parts to us the potential buyer you edited out or was extremely short ie the circulation of the clothes in the washer and how good that performs. No sooner than you'd lifted the lid you closed it again so we couldn't hear the motor working or how well the machine rotated the clothes. You did exactly the same with the spin dryer, no sooner than it had started you edited it out. It wasn't any good at all for a potential buyer. When I saw it was an 11 minute video I had some hopes it would be worthwhile. You're not thinking from the buyers perspective
