In the 90s the 3way mirror is definitely what helped us braid our own hair. I always wondered why the girlies stopped using it.

I’m going to try and braid my hair this weekend! My hair is feeling pretty damaged, so I want to cut it and keep it in braids for a month to give it a break from constant styling and any heat.

Someone braided it too tight around the edges and the follicles died. I have seen dermatologist, head injections he tried to grow back but I stopped going.
How many bundles of the human hair did you use?
If your using a certain brand of hair, and it frizzes take some of whatever edge control product your using then apply it to the braiding hair so that it’ll help the hair stay inside the braid!

Your natural hair in the boiling water ain’t that bad, water boils at 212 degrees and the flat iron is never that low lol I have no idea how hot blow dryers get though
You’re just more likely to end up with brittle ends/ breakage. You should use heat protectant with your flat iron and your blow dryer.
I used to dip my whole hair (including ends of my natural hair) in the boiling water. Within two months, my hair was fragile and damaged, and I had to cut at least 6 inches off. Don’t put your natural hair in boiling water!!

Wow, you did an excellent job. I am unable to add hair the way you did. Could you do a video for this style or braids in general, using the crotchet method. It is very difficult for me to add the hair like you did with 6 pieces of hair. I love that you are very detailed. Your natural is beautiful!

This looks so good girl!! How long did it take you to do? Also do you re use the human hair when taking down your braids? my bad if you mentioned it in the video x
So it took about 12 hrs in total. You can definitely reuse the hair, when you take it out just gather it all up & tie a rubber band around the top and brush it out & wash it.
Absolutely gorgeous set of braids! ❤Do you have any suggestions for hair that doesn’t it? I put braids in and will take them out fast cuz of the itching 😩
Broad the braiding hair up while in the rubber band. Get boiling water in a bowl with shampoo, vinegar and baking soda. Let sit for 30 min. Then wash the hair with the shampoo again. Some use conditioner on it also. The chemicals that they have been using on the hair for some years now a lot of people are allergic to it make it itch. So this is the best way that I found to stop that. It takes off the coding that they put on the hair.

One last question, I promise. Lol which color of the braiding hair goes with the human hair. The human hair is a natural color. Should I get 1 or 1B to blend with it. This will be my first time wearing boho braids so I have no clue. 😣
@@t.e.10901 is jet black and 1b is off black. Most people get 1b but it depends on what look you are trying to achieve. I personally use 2 or 4.

Great tutorial. Im currently doing mine now going on 2 days 🙃. I'm having issues with keeping them all uniformed and keeping the hair from fraying through the braid . It's definitely frustrating when you have to retake loose and redo, but this is my first time, so I'm trying to be patient. lol whew girl
Add some gel to your bug thumb every braid and try to smooth it as you go

Thankyou, I always use the same brands. Either RUWA or Expressions. Both are so good, RUWA is my favorite.
Hey hun can you give us a quick update photo on the community tab? Or if you have time in your schedule can we get a maintenance video. Had similar braids last summer but the shedding was unreal and bc of the plaits it was super hard to detangle with a brush
I have the same style. I maintain with silicon mix treatment. It keeps the deranging down and then I use bake curl cream to define the curls as they are drying. You have to finger comb this style because of the braids.

So the first 2 rows in the back I didn’t add any human hair. Towards the middle I added like every other 2 braids. And the top I added to just about each braid.
@@jaidanielle Thanks, that’s good information! What I’m referring to is when you braid each individual braid. Did you add the curly hair at the same point in each individual braid? I.e at the halfway point of each braid? I hope that makes more sense.

I kept skipping this video bc I was like I am NOT spending 6 days braiding my own hair, but i just had to know how long it took u!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 it took me 9 hrs in the chair with one braider doing it to my butt and chilleeeee, I'm fighting to keep these babies in! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
One thing I figured out AFTER the fact is that she uses WAAAYYYY too much braiding hair cuz these things are heavy and I can't put it in to a ponytail without my head hurting. So we gots to do something 😩. Thinking I want to do the boho style with twist instead of feedins.
Lol on a client it takes about 7.5 hrs max for this size. A good braiding hair : human hair ratio is key! My hair feels sooooo light, and I only used one bundle of hair. The twist hair is actually heavier.

I did mine over about 6 days, and I’m a perfectionist with fatigue and back problems 😂 I wake up bonnetless and scratch my head in my sleep so they’re a MESS 3 weeks in. I don’t know how people go 2 months. I wish 😂

Girllll I love these dang braids. Lol. The human hair is per bundle and you only really need 1. Unless you want it extremely full. The braiding hair I used 2.5 packs. Your gonna love them 💕

Yes in this case we use synthetic braiding hair then we feed(add) in the pieces that hang out.

They have a few different colors to choose from if you don’t find what you like you can dye it too!

I just got boho braids and they’re all tangly, messy and don’t have shine. How do I get the tangles out and make it look neater?
Did you use human hair, synthetic or a mix of both? That might attribute to the tangling

nope I didnt, but if you want it super full you can. I recommend not doing it so much in the back toward the bottom bc it'll be harder to detangle in the weeks to come.

Mid back 42”. If you want it longer just add 3 pieces towards the top and 3 more pieces towards the end. If you get super long hair it tangles bad when you’re doing it yourself in my opinion

The braiding hair is 42”, but I feed in hair about 3/4 of the way down so it ends up longer.
How to you put these away at night? Everyone says put them in 2 braids, but then the braids come out wavy and I do not want that. What do you do?
Not even gonna lie, it’s not easy keeping them straight at night. I wrap them into a bun at the top of my head
