Totally agree, haters are just envious. I'm not a hater, just envious how God has blessed him. Even though he loves a cheating college basketball program. That was being a hater, sorry.
@@markjugg7826 Dude, Gotta agree. I am assuming John likes the Volunteers. I am from CT and love UCONN where my kids graduated from. That being said what NCAA program is clean? lol!
I loved the sound of that water when this video first started. I think that's one reason that creek fishing is so relaxing. That wonderful water music. Happy fishing.
I got a reddington 9-foot rod and now that I have been fly fishing for a couple years now I’ve been enjoying it more and more. I find fishing these small creeks and catching these small trout peaceful.
I remember closing the window in my GMC Jimmie back in the day on a brand new spinning rod I ordered from Cabelas. This was around 1990 when it took a long time to get stuff. It really sucked.
I bought a brand new uglystic in 1983 let my step sister borrow my car that afternoon and she closed the tip of the rod in the trunk.. .I think I'm about over it now....but not quite. 😎
Broke my heart seeing you use an indicator on that trib. Dry/dropper please! Haha. I love that area. I used to drive 2x a week from chickamauga to fish up there.
Pretty nice trout, particularly with a broken rod. A few years ago, my daughter and I were fishing the upper reaches of the West Prong Little Pigeon in GSMNP, when a thunderstorm came up - had a lightning bolt strike 30 feet from me. I could see my car from the stream, but in between my car and there was a solid bank of rhododendron - toughest plant alive. When I emerged from the rhodo, my 4 piece 2wt had turned into a 1 piece. That's why I love Tenkara so much - you can collapse the rod down to almost nothing....looks like you found the trout no problem with that nymph; the general rule of thumb is to fish where the fast water meets the slow water, in the 'seams'.
I went to get dinner with my wife and looked at a truck parked in the median here in Texas. A guy and his kid got out and got poles, headed down to the creek. I thought “ya they been watching the same stuff I have” that’s good stuff! Nature blesses us with opportunity to enjoy, even as concrete closes in.
This video took me back to when I was a kid spending summers at my grandparents in north central Pennsylvania. We spent our days chasing native trout in the mountain creeks. Great video
Beautiful area...the scenery would make for some really beautiful paintings! ( Since that's what I do. ) The little rainbows were beautiful...go back in the fall and you might catch some keepers! That's my favorite type of fishing...small creeks with trout in them!
Hey Brother, I’ve been enjoying your channel for a while. Great stuff. I’m a fly fisher by nature but you have cast a spell and I’ve taken to hitting local creeks in GA with light spin gear. You are a hard working man. I’m glad you where able to go at this full time. I wish you all the success in the world! Signed: The Snail
I literally watch your videos daily brother Keep doing your thing bro!! I love your channel, it hits close to home because I live in Tn myself and when I see your videos it's very sentimental lol
That IS a nice Rainbow. If those are all local and not released that that's a very healthy stream. Congrats. The only trout fishing I've ever done was in Upper State NY. right outside of Blue Ridge. Caught a bunch of Brook Trout all about the same size of the larger ones you were catching. Lots of fun. I have no idea if the fish were stocked or not. It was a much smaller stream up in the mountains were I was. It's not about size.
Wow that really sucks about your rod. Glad that didnt stop you from catching them though. I wanted to try fly fishing out a couple of years ago so I ordered an eagle claw 6.6 ft fly rod. I wanted something shorter for creek fishing. It's really fun to fight big bluegill on it. 👊👍
love me some tellico river .when i was young id try to fish ,and it got to where everytime id stop at a spot ,there wuld a snake . they terrify me. i hate that about myself, but it is what it is . beautiful tho.
Fly Fishing for Bass and Bluegills is great. You get more bites than you do with Spinning Tackle,at least that was my experience and it's a lot of fun to fight them on the Fly Rod.
Mate 👍 next time you fly fish bring a tiny soft plastic kit with you like a small worm or maggot it works really good 👍 well it does here in Australia and it should work up your way too I guess give it a crack 🐟🎣
Brother this is my home away from home, I’ve caught some 3 and 4 pounders on a consistent basis up there, but not with a fly rod....& I have fished several times along side a few black bears...
I went out of SF on a salmon fishing party boat. I picked up a rod to use and didn’t notice the tip was broken off. With Thai broken rod, I caught 7 salmon (limit was 2) with the extra fish going to those who didn’t catch limits. To top it off, I caught big fish and won $76.00 from the pool! So, broken rods do not always spoil the fishing!!!
don't be afraid to flash some new equipment - some of it could be good - perfect place for ultralight and the hellgramite - fly fishing is for the dogs - generally - good to go for new species new places - stay in the mountains during the summer #cheerwine
awesome! you should go fly fishing at the caney fork river, you can catch some giants and I live there! I would love to meet up go fishing with you sometime.
I took a trip to South Caicos Island and broke my 8 wt bonefish rod..... I patched it up using a section on hangar wire inside and a pen casing outside with a LOT of electrical tape.... It held together just enough to let me catch about 2 dozen more fish before really disintegrating....
Been up to Bald river falls a few times.... absolutely beautiful... I’ve been meaning to fly fish there but never seem to get time... I have property in Philidelpha TN and spend a lot of time there ... exploring and checking out fishing spots. You should try Ft Loudon dam come the fall and try for the stripers that run... I finally landed a nice one last November in a fly... Keep up the good work! We’re you fishing Bold river?
PSA - the most important tool that you can have at this time of the year is a stream thermometer. Catching trout in water temps over 70 will kill them; high 60’s is borderline.
Lack of dissolved oxygen in the water leads to asphyxiation, usually in about 2 hours. As a cold water fish, trout are already under stress from warm water temperatures. Combine that with the stress and the exertion of energy in being caught, the trout can not extract enough oxygen from the water to recover. Studies have shown that this occurs when water temps are consistently 70 or above.
Creek Fishing Adventures thank you brother. And that’s not too far away I’ve been trying to find some new fishing spots so I’ll more than likely be in that creak before the summer is over. God bless and stay safe out there. And honestly I may not even fish I just wanna come get in the waterfalls but most likely a line will end up in the water lol
You know why this channel is good? The reason is John is obviously a good, down to earth regular guy we all can relate to.

What a beautiful place to fish. Ugly stick needs to make a nice 3 wt. Good job with the wild rainbows especially with a broken rod.
Haha. Yep

Beautiful scenery fly fishing looks frustrating love the video
It is frustrating for about two days them when u figure it out it is easy
Its like learning to use a baitcaster it sucks trying to learn but once you learn you mever want to go back to the old fishing ways
All that really suck is the shoulder aches, holding that rod there for a while sucks, but once you get used to it, its fun!
Nah, its fun, just get used to how to cast
Amazing creek , water looked great . Loved it .
Beautiful scenery and beautiful fish great video nice quite fishing
You make fly fishing actually look like fun! Keep on fishin!!
Broke my heart seeing you use an indicator on that trib. Dry/dropper please! Haha. I love that area. I used to drive 2x a week from chickamauga to fish up there.
Man, you make both fly fishing and catching trout look easy. That water looks like the river I fly fished this morning in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
on the same mountain range

All the scenery there looked like it could have been an oil painting 🖼!

Pretty place good day on the water. Way to improvise with the rod.
Awesome video brother.
God bless.
Thats a beautiful place. Looks like a lot of fun.
Well your diet is looking a little better with the granola bars instead of a bag of chips.. Lol.. Beautiful video brother 😎👍
What, no Slim Jim today?

Gotta love tellico trout fishing😎
Wild rainbows look way different than the stocked rainbows still is a fun time catching the little ones!!
Great video, man! Thanks for doing this amazing trout fishing video! God has definitely blessed you!!! Keep it up my friend...
Heck yeah bud. That's awesome. Such beautiful rainbows. Glad you had a great day even with a broken rod.🤙
Love watching the fly fishing videos!
Ant patterns are great in these wild trout streams, always have a couple dozen of them
Small or large a fish is a fish and a good time had by all . God Bless you !
Heat shrink tubing and a little thicker carbon tube may help you with broken tipps. Pretty little trouts and a beautifull creek.
Thanks
Love fishing with the dry fly and skipping it over the water
This is such a beautiful area..
Gods handy work is amazing.
I've been waiting for the broken rod video... I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that...

Keep doing your thing bro!! I love your channel, it hits close to home because I live in Tn myself and when I see your videos it's very sentimental lol
Great video love the videos best out there
You should really get into fly fishing for bass and brim, its funner than it looks!!!!
What fly can u catch a bass on? I just started a week ago and caught bluegill and sunfish but dying for a bass on the fly rod.
Leslie Tincher olive wooly bugger, poppers, clauser minnows
You went tru hillbilly--great job with the improv!
Very nice stream, I miss fly fishing! First time fishing in Gatlinburg I broke my rod.
Looks cool there good luck
Nice thing about where I live the river is warm enough to wade in without the need of waders.
I enjoy it like that

Flyfishing is what we do up here in Colorado it just takes practice like any fishing you did good we enjoyed the video thank you
Beautiful fish and area....
You're in an area same as I. I can be fishing high elevation native trout streams then within a few minute drive be fishing for great smallmouth.
its pretty cool to live in places like this
Gotta say it again...BEAUTIFUL spot😎

I am surprised that you didn't have a Nikko Hellgrammite fly, haha. Keep up the good work brother!
There is nothing that says flies have to be made of thread and roadkill. Small plastics will work too.
Fly Fishing for Bass and Bluegills is great. You get more bites than you do with Spinning Tackle,at least that was my experience and it's a lot of fun to fight them on the Fly Rod.

Yep, they are great for the itty bitty creeks

I once broke my rod, but i broke it right above the joint for a multiple piece rod and was able to salvage it...sorry you were not so lucky, god bless
You would be surprised how big Rainbows can get in streams. The large ones are rare, but they can get pretty big.Brown Trout can also get big.
The colors of the wild Rainbows are beautiful, much more distinct and brighter than stocked fish.
Cool video them must been native to that stream little as they was
nice fishing technique..
Tip for the day, to catch trout you must first break your rod.
Beautiful spot, nice clear waters. ...a lil change of content😎 yup, still lovin your channel!!!👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

@@CreekFishingAdventures you should! put in at the dam and just float down a few hours, throw rooster tails and if you fly fish throw a prince nymph
Native trout are the best.
My what beautiful country

Trout don’t live in ugly places! Wild fish in wild places!
you got that right

Any good fishing spots near Nashville for trout you recommend?
U got a trout stamp?
not sure, check on twra website

Not on the fly rod yet

yes, i was thinking about that
Were you in Tellico Plains? Went fishing there this last year and couldn’t seem to get on the fish. Any tips on the area?
yeah thats where i was, i have only fished it a couple times myself
You’d better leave that rod broke 😂
It does pretty well like that
In the eastern US the only native trout is the Brook trout
true
Forgot to mention, time to turn in some more scrap metal to replace the broken pole.
haha, i do have some to scrap
Haven’t you ever heard it’s not the size of your rod it’s how you use it? Lol and how far away from Bristol Virginia is this stream?
id say 3 hours

havent been there

Do you know which creek this is? I’ve been wanting to fish the Tellico for a while but didn’t know there were trout in the feeder creeks.
This is the North river in Green Cove Tenn !
It fows into the tellico river
