Yeah, you can easily lose hours into a build. I restrict myself to battle maps only and even then sometimes I just paste someone else's awesome creation if I don't have the time to make custom.

Just bought it on steam (on sale even), after buying three other (not so great) d&d creators. This one is just filled with goodies, I can’t wait to get some people into this. I hope they plan on play-by-post options at some point (unless it’s already in there, idk yet, just got it).

I just got talespire and have moved from real minitures and props to tabletop simulator and now talespire. My wife and I play fantasy style RPGs and love the atmospheric style of talespire. Can't wait to see more customization on minitures. Within moments I've copied over 10 slabs to create my campaign world. So easy.
Glad you're enjoying it! Yes, as much as I love getting creative and spending time on a build, the easy paste of entire boards is my favorite function. Makes the life of a busy DM so much easier.
@@ryanfakename251 once you are familiar it is faster in terms of spamming large terrain. Plus, theres tons of slabs/boards you can just put together to create a bigger or unique terrain.

Glad it's finally out in the wild for everyone! Start building since cool maps and encounters now so when your group vibes together you have things to throw at them. Or just co-op build together, that's fun, too.
I think you should upload more videos like this. Talespire is going to be huge, you have a decent voice and a decent setup. You could do a lot and grow by talking about DnD while building talespire in the background or even having talespire tutorials on how you make maps. Just a thought.
Appreciate the kind words! I definitely want to do more videos, I've just been a bit busy with work and trying to home shop in California but will definitely have more content, hopefully soon!
just found it 2 days ago and i just love it, its all i ever wanted to create D&D adventure maps from old memories of my childhood playing D&D on my own i use to grab everything i could use to make environments to play with my miniatures, now i can make them sceneries as grandious as i would ever think
Hopefully in the future they'll implement the Steam Workshop as well, thank you for this video, this helped me off the fence. I'll be purchasing this for my group in the future
Talespire is great. I think that if D&D Beyond or Fantasy Grounds or any other VTT links up with Wizards for 5e D&D it's going to take a lot of people's games to the next level. And of course, we'll have to buy that content all over again.
Thank you for this thoughtful review - I was 50/50 on this, but I've been wanting to get a good tool to be able to just run D&D with Discord and it's capabilities, without feeling like I need to pick up another subscription in my life or feel obligated to buy additional add-ons after initial purchase like some other offerings out there. Your video put into perspective how "one and done" this purchase can be, and it's in EA and already more than enough to run the type of game I want to - which sounds similar to your experience. I disliked Roll20 and I collect physical copies of published content - I think with TaleSpire combined with Discord I should be completely free to run games with ease. They should sponsor you if they're not already, you earned them a sale ;)
Glad the video helped! The "premium per player" business model isn't for everyone, but I can tell you that having a full group in the program going through battle and interacting with the maps is super fun. Hope you enjoy!
saw this on steam today and it looks really fun to mess around with and it seems to have a lot of potential, it is definitely some thing im considering on using
I bought this game for my DM on his bday because he has been using Minecraft world's and streaming it on discord to run boards for our online games Now he will be using this and streaming the board on discord
Well considering i used to use Dungeon painter studio to create my maps and then i would import them into tabletop simulator so me and my friends could play D&D via desktop or oculus rift if they had one, this looks like it "could" be a superior option.
Dang, this really is looking like a great battle map maker. Saw some groups playing a campaign through D:OS2 GM mode and it felt, and looked, awkward seeing them role-play while confining themselves fully to the game visual and mechanics. This looks like it can have the sweet spot between visual aids and pc imagination.
Yeah, it brings a very real sense of immersion. I still don't use it for everything though. In many cases, I like to keep the imagination aspect until initiative is rolled, then move everyone into TaleSpire to unveil the battle map.
To someone who has used it extensively I ask a question. If you were building a room in your house IRL, to have D&D sessions IRL what would it look like ? How would the talespire program change that rooms layout? I for one am very excited about the program, but wonder how I and my players will sit down IRL and use it in the same room. Multiple laptops, communal big screen on wall or on table? How would you set up a dream dungeon?
This is a great question. I could see two different ways working well. 1) A big screen on the wall that allows players to see a board you've set up and where their characters are. They can instruct you where they'd like to move etc and roll their dice on the table as per normal. This method could also allow them the use of their own laptops to move tokens but that's not necessary. 2) A screen mounted inside your gaming table. Since you can use the top down camera angle, you could create some animated 3d maps and have the players move their tokens on it. You as the DM would be in charge of moving the camera around from room to room, etc but it could be a neat dynamic. I personally think TaleSpire works best in 3 dimensions so I'd probably choose option 1. The screen could also be used for visual aids, puzzles, etc. so not just for the map.
@@DungeonPrinter I at one time worked for a company that helped people play loads of Games. We built furniture that solved a few of the biggest IRL game problems. This same train of thought now dictates that I explore this question. Thanks for the reply. I hope to get other additional experienced builders to weigh in. Have you had any virtual hangouts or correspondence with other builders to "Talk Shop". At conventions it was often my most favorite conversation, find two DM that were running similar campaigns and "talk Shop".
i found it too late, but i got it the day it went into early access. IM SO EXCITED. I'm not sure I'll be using it for my main campaign, that one is too far along, but for a second one starting up this year, i definitely want to use it
It might be fun to intermix and use it for extra special encounters in the first one. Big bad boss fights and whatnot. Either way, glad you've got it now and hope you enjoy!
Even better! No idea where I got the 29.99 number from. Could have sworn it was listed as that on their website but sure enough I got it wrong. Thanks for the clarification!
@@Lazagg Im not sure this working like that. I was thinking if this cost dollar, in every country would be the same dollar costs lol Sorry for my english, I said Im mexican and here cost 12dll :v
Yeah, that can be a hard sell, but my group found it completely worth the one-time cost. I'd suggest starting off by streaming it to your group via Discord and if they like what they see and are interested, they can get in themselves or wait for a Steam sale.
@@PixelSageYT It's a good start! It lets you introduce them to the game, show off cool maps, etc. and as they get more interest, they can start buying their licenses and controlling their tokens themselves. Or everyone can just wait for a sale.
this is a very valid point. yet another expense that will largely fall on the DMS but i'll just by my copy and move everything myself and let them see it like i was with our VTT.
I kinda wish there were two versions. A cheaper version for like 10 bucks that would support features for players, and then the full version which includes the mapping, DM, and everything else tools. This program looks incredibly polished, but the price point is pretty steep if you want to get started with your local friend group.
For your info, Talespire now has Seats system. So Dm can purchase lower priced mass licenses for players . Those seats are floating, so seats can be used by different peoples at different games (4 seats for 21 euros at Steam)
It reminds me of the lego videogames, it looks like a virtual version of really good tabletop game that would cost an insane amount of money to set up. I really like the less photorealistic but high quality style of it.
You've convinced me, this is perfect for my group. We've been looking for something more cause we just use MSPaint to draw up our maps quick. Something like this will help immensely especially the copy paste of maps and saving characters to use on other maps. Question though...how is the combat? Since you can privilege the other players to use their own tokens, are there many different effects for battles? like for wizards and artificers? or are they relatively tame and simple effects?
As Ross said, there are only a couple of combat emotes right now, but they do plan on adding things like unconscious, stunned, etc to help show statuses. You can also switch into and out of turn based mode so the players can only move their tokens on their turn to prevent chaos.
A feature I would love to see is one where you can get a high resolution image from above the map, with a built-in grid, to be used as a battle map in other VTTs. Needing every player to own the game is a reasonable expense at only 30 bucks, but if the only computer someone has is a low-powered laptop, they’re probably going to have a worse time playing on this than the players with beefy gaming rigs. If I can just download an image and throw it into owlbear rodeo, players can enjoy the full fidelity of the game on anything capable of browsing the web.
There actually is something like that. The grid feature you're talking about doesn't exist but many of the tiles make that grid look anyway. Check out my FAQ video on the channel and you'll see it in action on Roll 20! Also, I was wrong and the game is only $25, so bonus!
Amazing way to share your opinion and honest take about TaleSpire. Love the way you explain things as well. I do have a question, how well does it work on a regular laptop? Any lag or delays?
3 questions. 1. I think I saw you can change the elevation of the minis on the program - is it multi level building friendly? Like is the roof going to get in my way? 2. Is this the same 3D map making program I saw that could export things for 3D print? 3. Not sure if it was this video or another demo I like - but it had some animated spells - does one manually add them to each mini? Awesome vid man - thanks for the run down.
Hey there! 1) There's a control on the right side that will hide any tiles on a plane lower than you set it, so you can make rooftops temporarily disappear. You can also fast right-click the floor you're on to automatically set that is the main area so the game hides tiles above to make your view easier. Last resort if things are still getting in your way, you could always use a Hide Volume to just make that section disappear for a while. 2) I don't think so- the devs have said the minis are too low poly for 3d printing, since you don't need as many polygons to make the minis look good on screen. 3) The animated spells are just part of the basic animations you can have minis do. Nothing special to add them to a mini or anything and it's super limited right now. I think there's one basic melee attack and 1 basic spell right now. Hope this helps!
I 'might' be able to use this, if an API for import & export exists, I could send out a Dwarf Fortress campaign into this, for some RPG, then when players 'leave' on quests, and come back in their game future, run DF for the same time, and re-import so they can see 'what happened' in that time.
The only issue I have with the game is the same one I have with all the DnD Online tools that you pay for. It's really hard to convince 3 or more friends to part with money for software they don't even know they will like or use that much. Let alone finding 3 friends who are willing to put up with the software in the first place.
Yeah, it's always tough. One option I suggested for others is to start by livestreaming your copy to your group as you play so they can see the map. If they enjoy that, you can entice them into getting their own copies. Another option is building things and taking screenshots to share with your group for visual aids, screenshoting your top down battlemaps to use on Roll20 - lots you can potentially do if 24.99 is too steep for the group. Or just wait for the first Steam sale!
Or you can set a 2 hour window for all 3 of your friends and give it a try and if you don't like it. Return it. (Steam refund policy: Owned for less than two weeks and less than 2 hrs played)
Well, the good news is you'll have plenty of maps to replicate in 3d and keep you busy for a while! You'll still need a place for your handouts and such, so maybe there's a way to use both.
@@DungeonPrinter i created an entire world map too so that would be usefull too and yeah roll20 will probably be there as a character sheet and world map manager
@@mr.admr1016 What I like to do is tag and name my areas for easy sorting. I have an area in my campaign called The Rotting Kingdom, so those are all "[RK] Map Name" so they're all grouped together. No other sorting as of yet that I remember. Good luck!
You can always use both! You can use Roll20 for basic scenarios and then switch to Foundry fore the important moments or situations where you really need to convey scale or need real imersion.
You ever think of adding the dice to the game. Then they can roll the dice in game. Also incorporate like a note pad or something. Then people can write their game out and save them like they do for the dung they created. People can bring the story or what ever in and others could play that story. It's probably way tougher than it sounds but I thought I woukd throw it out there.
There are already virtual dice in the program and they plan on adding more and letting people customize them a bit. I like the notepad idea but it sounds like they're focusing on building first and foremost and will maybe add other VTT features after that.
Curious if you can upload your own images?? Sometimes I might want a flat map or something isometric, ie Icewind Dale area. This program might be awesome. Scan the better Ral Partha miniatures (others) into the assets to use. This will attract even old school ToM players to use visual battle maps.
Nothing looks that for now. No handouts system either. You can change the camera to look down at your map as if it were flat but that's the closest thing I can think of. As for the Real Partha minis, there will be a program coming soon that lets you add your own 3d files to the game as tokens and whatnot so that could be possible!
Thanks for the vid. I think you touched on it briefly... but just want to confirm that you could buy it once, create the content and then use it on a TV for everyone at the table to view and use? How practical is it? Eg, the players would be able to see creature stats because it's being used by the DM? Thanks, and subbed.
Welcome! Yeah, I think that's totally feasible. First of all, you don't have to add any stats to the tokens if you want them to stay secret. In that case, if just name the tokens "Gnoll 1" and so on and keep track of HP separately like you would if they were physical minis. Other than that, it's really just you being the camera man and moving player and monster tokens each round while your players roll and dictate what they want to do.
No world maps, though it would be pretty cool to have hotlinked locations that open a board you've created when you click on it. The best it has is a list of all your boards you can pull up on the left to easily swap your players between anything you've created. I usually tag mine with world locations so they're all stored together since it's sorted alphabetically. I still use Wonderdraft/Mythkeeper for world maps but I know there are other great resources out there.
Yeah, for me it really shines for battle maps also. I like to let the players imagine everything up to the fight then drop them in an arena to do the battle.
Just found this channel! Thank you for the upload, this software looks awesome. How do you feel about the learning curve? also, do you think map building is any easier than tabletop sim if you've tried it? every now and again I have a crack at map building on there and give up pretty quickly
Oh it's much easier than tabletop sim and actually very intuitive. After just a few minutes you did have the basics committed to muscle memory and will be building pretty fast. Finding the right tiles and props takes me far longer than actually building with them. Welcome aboard!
I feel like this is more of why you love the game than what other people may decide if it is worth it. I have used Fantasy Grounds, Roll20, and Foundry as VTTs but I cannot see why I would use TaleSpire with just your video that explains the uses. I guess if you really want to use a 3D map then more power to you. I also find it to be more of a challenge to use homebrewed content with premade maps since I have to rebuild them with props given by TaleSpire. Which is going to be taking a lot of time away from me to build them all. Sure content already released by WOTC may be easier to find already made but there is still a lot of work in map building that I have to learn and do. So far, I think there really isn't enough in certain areas a VTT should have for an asking price of 125 dollars (DM plus four players in total with its price being 25 dollars). Foundry is 50 dollars but only the DM has to fork that over which makes it easier for players to jump in without looking at their wallet. I know with people they are going to compare the 25 to 50 but really, for everyone to use it properly the way it was intended, it is 125 to 50.
My biggest concern is how to handle PC sheets. We currently use D&DBeyond, but may be a hasstle to keep tabbing out, as opposed to switching tabs like we do for roll 20
I think the big sticker for me is going to be the lack of ability to make (or in my Case pay someone else to make as am not a 3d artist) custom minis. with how much homebrew I tend to use as well as the wide variety of player character designs only having a rank and file of on hand minis isnt going to gel well with my games. that said it does sound like a tool for that is in the works from what you said so I might give it a try once that is released.
Even though I mostly play in person, I can't actualy draw that well so just for building maps (which I know I can do) and using it for a still image visual I think it would be worth it
Yeah, you can get a nice top-down view as one of the camera options and take screenshots and print or just show it to your players on a screen and ask where they'd like their tokens to go.
It looks great, but the lack of fog of war and rules integrations makes it more of a fun curiosity that a real VTT. Also without a more accesible (i.e. free or at least cheaper) player client I doubt it will ever gets really popular.
If I buy a copy of the game and DM it can the players just join without buying it? Id love to switch over but I play with a varying group of people and dont want someone to drop 25 bucks for a game they will only play a few times
Unfortunately, they'd need their own copy. One thing you could do is just stream your screen to your players and set up battle maps and tokens for them to visually see the battlefield. They can tell you where they want to move, etc if you're looking to save them some money. Or wait for the first time it goes on Steam sale! Hope this helps.
I have been using roll20 and the problems I see with this is the lack of pnp mechanic integration. You will have to manually add modifiers to all rolls, and everyone needs a license and computer that isn't a potato. Also will have to integrate zoom/discord/etc for true remote presence.
It sounds like they are working on character sheet integration and there are already some plugin options to click something out of the game and have it roll in game. I use zoom or discord for my groups and it works well enough as standalone for me. The license and hardware requirements are definitely up to each group but one suggestion I give is the DM livestreaming their game for groups who can't afford multiple licenses.
Just saw this on Steam, 20euro. watched all the vids. went website, watched vids, read all I can and Boom...Here you are with an informative Video. Thank you for that. I believe this is what I have been looking for. The price is also not to steep when compared to the others in my opinion. Quick Question: Can one print the maps? or portions of the maps? Thx again. Stay safe and Gruß from Germany
No printing through the client but I suppose you could always go top down camera, screenshot it, and print it that way. Also, Steam let's you refund games you've played for under 2 hours so if you're still not sure, that is an option. Glad the video helped!
Id like there was a group offer or "seats" for invitations, there were promo on new games long ago, was great to understand lot of things, now they want to sell all at once and you, the final client, will not know if you like the game, if your hardware can support it, if your friends will buy it or not.......
Yeah, hopefully soon! Still waiting on Steam to finish it's build approval, followed by a server upgrade by Bouncy Rock afterwards. Hopefully still today!
very interesting. Can I import my own game music and sound effects? Can I show the players 2D-maps and handouts (eg. local area maps and pictures from monsters) thank you.
@@DungeonPrinter ok, thank you very much for the answer. atm I am using foundry vtt which is an incredible good program. It offers all these elements (like music and handout import) which are essential for our gaming experience. OTOH talespire is 3D so it has a quality on its own and I hope it will offer all the essential things for online gaming in the future.
I purchased this to support the devs - and absolutely adore it. But my group is currently running Fantasy Grounds, and there are just too many things FG does that is currently missing in TS. Character Sheets, combat mechanics, items, spells etc. I know these things are coming, and I can't wait, but right now TS is too much of a downgrade for us to switch over. If you build it, we will come, BouncyRock! And I will buy everything you throw at me.
What if I wanted to purchase it and just use it as a map and move the Miniatures around myself is that possible argument players have to have the game to move the miniatures because my players prefer pen and paper
I can see myself building several important battle map and cast it to my party using this game. While initiative and actions will be done with external resource. We can do that yeah? The only thing that keep me off this, is that I've got to buy a new PC...
Yeah, absolutely something you can do. Streaming the game means you'll have to be more careful with DM view of you're trying to keep things secret but there are good ways to do that. You'd even still be able to set up initiative because that's based on the tokens in play, not the players controlling them but do that however you want.
Im thinking of using this as a visual aid for some people Im trying to teach the game over discord. Maybe I can just share my screen so they can get the visual experience without having to buy the full game? Would this work? or not really.
Absolutely, I think that would work just fine. It would help explain movement, flanking rules if you use them, leaving threatened areas, etc. The game even has cone and diameter rulers so you can show how to measure those types of skills.
Just bought it and as GM who has way wy too much time in his hands, I might go crazy and and create hole map of me city or at least important districts of it..... And buildings like Hall of Gods, which in me campaing is main temple which is temple to hundereds of different Gods from all aligments.
@@DungeonPrinter definitely, even some of the cheaper alternatives like warlock tiles are still around 70 dollars and don't come with a whole lot of tiles

and i just love it,
its all i ever wanted to create D&D adventure maps from old memories of my childhood playing D&D on my own
i use to grab everything i could use to make environments to play with my miniatures, now i can make them sceneries as grandious as i would ever think
Glad you love it! Plenty more on the way, it sounds like.
yeah, we got a new content pack just the day after i bought it, they are quick at delivering new assets
yup im getting this. will be a great add for my friends to see first hand the battles and my ideas
Informative and helpful! Thanks! We're debating using for our actual play show.
Glad this was helpful! I love seeing players react to the cool maps their DMs make so hope they enjoy it.
Obviously this is an older video, now, but I just learned about this software and bought it based on this video alone.
saw this on steam today and it looks really fun to mess around with and it seems to have a lot of potential, it is definitely some thing im considering on using
I bought this game for my DM on his bday because he has been using Minecraft world's and streaming it on discord to run boards for our online games
Now he will be using this and streaming the board on discord
Well considering i used to use Dungeon painter studio to create my maps and then i would import them into tabletop simulator so me and my friends could play D&D via desktop or oculus rift if they had one, this looks like it "could" be a superior option.
having vr to move your minis virtually would be super cool
Dang, this really is looking like a great battle map maker. Saw some groups playing a campaign through D:OS2 GM mode and it felt, and looked, awkward seeing them role-play while confining themselves fully to the game visual and mechanics. This looks like it can have the sweet spot between visual aids and pc imagination.
Yeah, it brings a very real sense of immersion. I still don't use it for everything though. In many cases, I like to keep the imagination aspect until initiative is rolled, then move everyone into TaleSpire to unveil the battle map.
Currently using this for a Pathfinder remake/overhaul of 5ths Strahd.
speaking of heroforge they just announced that they will be working with talespire devs which is just down right fucking awesome
You got a like for the star wars galaxies reference. NEVER FORGET!
Haha, thanks! Yeah, it was an amazing game with so many great features. Many many good memories there. Thanks for the like!
Great overview. Have been tracking this one. Appreciate your take on it. Cheers man
Excellent video - just a quick thing I noticed. The game will actually be 24.99 USD.
Even better! No idea where I got the 29.99 number from. Could have sworn it was listed as that on their website but sure enough I got it wrong. Thanks for the clarification!
28.99 CAD so it's still pretty close regardless
Im mexican. Here the price of TalesSpire is 234.00 pesos(12dollar aprox).
24.99 usd? Wtf? Where do you buy it?
@@rolmovil some money is worth less or more depending on where you live in from Canada so its 30$ with tax here.
@@Lazagg Im not sure this working like that. I was thinking if this cost dollar, in every country would be the same dollar costs lol
Sorry for my english, I said Im mexican and here cost 12dll :v
i feel like a LOT of people are out as soon as you find out everyone in your group has to buy their own copy, in direct contrast to most other VTTs
Maybe but it is worth it. One of our members didn’t have money for it so we all chipped in to get their copy.
Yeah, that can be a hard sell, but my group found it completely worth the one-time cost. I'd suggest starting off by streaming it to your group via Discord and if they like what they see and are interested, they can get in themselves or wait for a Steam sale.
This is the reason my group isn't using it, but I've been thinking of getting it to then screen share and use it that way.
Love the video, looks super dope to use. Also found "Pumat Mercer" and "Brittany Spear" hilarious
Was wondering if anyone would pick up on the weird names I threw in there. Glad you enjoyed the video!
2:33 Go Yasha! You can do it!
If only Steam would release it on time...
We still dont have off line game building yet... FFS. Some of us have intermittent connectivity.
Limited for now, but they will be adding more in the future.
As Ross said, there are only a couple of combat emotes right now, but they do plan on adding things like unconscious, stunned, etc to help show statuses. You can also switch into and out of turn based mode so the players can only move their tokens on their turn to prevent chaos.
sounds pretty cool, great video man! thank you very much
A feature I would love to see is one where you can get a high resolution image from above the map, with a built-in grid, to be used as a battle map in other VTTs.
You could always stream it from the DM's computer.
Making Yashas dream from CR was a cool touch
I cant wait till they let us customize our own tokens, the player tokens are super lacking as of now
I 'might' be able to use this, if an API for import & export exists, I could send out a Dwarf Fortress campaign into this, for some RPG, then when players 'leave' on quests, and come back in their game future, run DF for the same time, and re-import so they can see 'what happened' in that time.
Steam has it for $24.99 right now
The only issue I have with the game is the same one I have with all the DnD Online tools that you pay for.
I litteraly just set up an entire roll20 campaign and.....now i feel like i need to switch to this lol
The ability to add you own character from hero forge would be awesome
The beta for this feature is actually out now! You can buy a digital mini from HeroForge and import it into TaleSpire now.
Can't wait for darkest dungeon assets
This was a great overview, thank you
You mentioned SWG? Instant view of the entire video, and reflection of the contents within.
Love that I'm seeing so many comments about SWG! I think back on it quite often. Thanks for stopping by!
@@DungeonPrinter no problem, I've never played the game in my life, just wanted to spoof other comments
@@DarthSinistris Haha, fair enough! It has been surprising to see so much enthusiasm over the mention. Thanks for stopping by!
I would love if they incorporated WFRP 4 ED rules as well.
HeroForge support is going to take this to the next level.
@@DungeonPrinter sounds good to me! Thanks for the reply
If you're watching this video nowadays, there is Hero Forge integration for player minis!
Hey thanks for your video. Great intro to this tool. One question I have; does it allow you to create interactive 3D world/campaign maps?
No world maps, though it would be pretty cool to have hotlinked locations that open a board you've created when you click on it. The best it has is a list of all your boards you can pull up on the left to easily swap your players between anything you've created. I usually tag mine with world locations so they're all stored together since it's sorted alphabetically. I still use Wonderdraft/Mythkeeper for world maps but I know there are other great resources out there.
This thing looks amazing for one-shots
I know with people they are going to compare the 25 to 50 but really, for everyone to use it properly the way it was intended, it is 125 to 50.
sounds great, looks great, $30 per player isn't great when most other VTTRPG software is one lic covers DM and all players are free.
Excellent review, very thought out! :)
Thanks for watching!
i am on a QUEST to get my party to try and commit to this very cool tool!!
Yeah, no word when TalesWeaver will come out but it will definitely be a game changer. Unleash the community and you'll never want for content!
This looks amazing.
So, as of today, there is no import or export of stl files? For example, hero forge imports of stl files or exporting your map for IRL sessions?
Super lucky, I found it and sat on investing cause I thought I had time...
I don't even play DnD yet but I'm kind of want to buy this just to build maps...
I suppose you could download other people's creations and use them if you were pressed for time and didn't have the time to build your own?
Id like there was a group offer or "seats" for invitations, there were promo on new games long ago, was great to understand lot of things, now they want to sell all at once and you, the final client, will not know if you like the game, if your hardware can support it, if your friends will buy it or not.......
How about health bars and stuff to keep track ?
"The answer is Today!" OR IS IT?
Yeah, hopefully soon! Still waiting on Steam to finish it's build approval, followed by a server upgrade by Bouncy Rock afterwards. Hopefully still today!
very interesting. Can I import my own game music and sound effects? Can I show the players 2D-maps and handouts (eg. local area maps and pictures from monsters) thank you.
At the moment, no. It sounds like music importing will be available with TalesWeaver but not sure on handouts.
Hit me right in the feels with that Galaxies remark. God I miss that game
Is it possible to build an entire world on one single map?
Hopefully you'll be able to import digital HeroForge minis one day.
Yeah, they're already using a mini maker to help populate tokens, would be great to let the players do it as well.
totally agree! it would be an instant buy for me at that point
I've been looking forward to TaleSpire ever since I came across their crowdfunding. Wish I wasn't broke, though lol
Well the good news is it's here the next time you have some spare cash. And you can wishlist it and watch for sales as well!
What do your players use online as a character sheet ? Do you know if they plan on DND Beyond integration ?
My group uses DNDBeyond but I have no idea if they plan any integration with them out not in the future. Sorry!
@@DungeonPrinter No worries ! Just wondering how much manual stuff has to be added to the rolls in this VTT.
@@Kevlar-78 google beyond the spire, a plugin to send DnD Beyond rolls into tale spire.
I enjoy it, just wish they had a more fluent UI, better tutorial system, and custom upload system.
I like try this for the Palladium Fantasy game I'm running, but I'm nots sure if the players would fork out the $36.00 (AUD) to pay for it.
I just purchased it BTW.
But what can it do that Table Top Simulator can't?
Just bought it and as GM who has way wy too much time in his hands, I might go crazy and and create hole map of me city or at least important districts of it..... And buildings like Hall of Gods, which in me campaing is main temple which is temple to hundereds of different Gods from all aligments.
sad about dwarven forge, very cool but so expensive I only have enough to make one or two kinds of builds "cave" or "cave with ruins in it"
They do beautiful work but man, they sure gatekeep the hell out of the vast majority of tabletop fans with those premium prices.
@@DungeonPrinter definitely, even some of the cheaper alternatives like warlock tiles are still around 70 dollars and don't come with a whole lot of tiles
Does it use a Fog of War style?
