    Yes, it’s odd to watch but I think Drew is a nurturing soul and society is not used to seeing someone be affectionate on tv without it being sexualized. Very true. I grew up the same way, but I think the criticism is valid *because* not everybody is used to that. And, even if they are, it doesn't mean they are comfortable with a stranger's affection. People shouldn't have to tell you not to touch them.😅 I believe Drew is a warm person and not trying to offend. But, just because that's not the intention doesn't mean it's not the result. I'm glad it wasn't in Oprah's case.

      I think it's fine, nothing wrong with it. But not everyone is touchy feely. I'm very cuddly with my husband and kids but no one else. I don't hug my friends and I'm talking about women I've known for over 20 years. We raised babies together. We share secrets, our lives, but I have zero interest in touching them and they seem to feel the same. Drew is just a unique woman.

      @@EstelleChao-fi2on I think Drew needs it. I've been around touchy feely people but never to this extreme. She just really needs to be in people's space and feel that comfort. I'm gonna state the obvious. If she were a needy, overly affectionate guy climbing all over his guests it would be a different story. We've seen really old family feud footage where the previous host would kiss every female on the mouth. He'd go from mother to sister to daughter. Kissing wives on the mouth in front of their husbands. It was crazy. But imagine Steve Harvey just rubbing everyone's arms, stroking them, holding them while leaning in super close. Uh... no. lol.

    • @Philly4Really
      @Philly4Really 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@sweetpie7919 you make good points. But what you're not taking into account is that Drew and Oprah have known each other for decades. Oprah even gave her a sense of strength she never had before when she grilled her mother. Drew holds Oprah very close to her heart and they have a real friendship that's way deeper than just a surface level interview. That's why BOTH people were comfortable with it. That's why Oprah said it was Endearing and she loves Drew and Drew is always herself which she also loves. Oprah is the only woman I have been able to tell that Drew holds in such high regard and really looks up to. Does she need to be all up in every single guests face? I dunno. If the guest has anxiety or doesn't like interviews (like many of the celebrities Drew has on often), maybe that's why they all love her show and many don't really ever do interviews. She comforts them and makes them feel that it's just them two and she has their backs and won't pull any gotcha moments. This is what seperates Drew from every other talk show host. She's not trying to twist things, she's trying to relate to the human, which is what happens with the audience as well. She shows that these celebrities are human and should be treated as such, rather than a prouduct. This is the whole point of her show, her legacy, and her even. ✌️

      @janet2188 Too many people repeat the same kind of sentence on social media to the point it’s redundant and annoying… “If we had more people like (insert whoever), the planet (or world or earth) would be a better place”.. Or, “If only we had more people like that, the world would be a better place”… No it wouldn’t. People are already affectionate and loving to the people in their life, meeting new people, new friends even their pets, but the world would still have problems because that’s the way of the world, there’s men out in the world who want to start wars, own people, destroy people, take away what’s not there’s. Are those people going to say, “Let’s stop all the mayhem in this world and stroke each others arms and hold each others hands and sing with love in our hearts”! Lol Not even. It is great that Drew Barrymore is sweet and affectionate to her guests, but there’s also boundaries of peoples space. A lot of people (even the famous people), can feel crowded and forced to hold onto her hand throughout her show. She’s a sweetheart and too cute, beautiful and hilarious, she just needs to realize, she’s too close in other people’s space, air they breathe and some don’t like it but respect Drew to let her have her moment. It’s ok to be affectionate, but she practically clings on to her guests to be like she wants to suck out their breath and be them for a moment. You want more people like that so the world will be a better place, then be that person, go out there and help start making the world a better place. I’m not being sarcastic. A lot of people say, we need more people like that, but they forget, or don’t realize, we already do have loving and caring people. It’s not going to make the world better. People always say we need more people like that but that person never goes out there and helps make the world a better place. See how many people will feel uncomfortable with their arms being softly stroked over and over again and not letting go, and up close to their faces. Or holding a strangers hand too tightly and up in their face, it makes some people uncomfortable. So you go out in the world and help by making the world a better place! Maybe more will be like you. 😁😉
