I know I didn’t grow up in a home with lots of hugging and physical comfort so yeah, when I see her doing it, I get the “ick’s” lol I know she means well though
Very true. I grew up the same way, but I think the criticism is valid *because* not everybody is used to that. And, even if they are, it doesn't mean they are comfortable with a stranger's affection. People shouldn't have to tell you not to touch them.😅 I believe Drew is a warm person and not trying to offend. But, just because that's not the intention doesn't mean it's not the result. @Philly4Really I don't believe Oprah liked it. Regardless of what she stated, there is no way Oprah, who understands the media, would be bold enough to say she didn't like it. It would cause all sorts of controversy
Oh its her style. She wants to show and make her guests comfortable and that she is thankful and she appreciates their coming. What’s wrong with that? Let’s should appreciate her being so authentic. She is genuine. Just like how she pulls her stockings in in this show. She is amazing.
Yes it's just her and that's what she brings to her show and what makes her so authenic. I do think she is entitled empath and is really just fascinated by people and their stories and also an empath
If people have an issue, people on the show can take it up with Drew herself. I honestly don't think it is that big of a deal.......I think she is genuinely interested in the guests and given her upbringing, it's refreshing that she's feels comfortable in showing her admiration and affection for people. She had an interview with PINK where they sat cross-legged on the couch like they were old friends, and I think that's is what her goal is.....to make people feel genuinely appreciated and listened to.
She’s kind and loving and means no harm. And she surely has touch hunger in her own life, possibly from her weird childhood/mother, etc. At times I notice her guests seem to look like they find it odd or unnerving. I’d ease back a little if I were her, just cuz not everyone likes to be adored physically. ☺️ But her intentions are pure, that’s very obvious, sweet woman. ❤️
I like Drew too, but it's very uncomfortable to watch. Especially when she interviewed Brooke Shields. Brooke was clearly uncomfortable. Affection is a wonderful thing, but there are boundaries with who & where we express it. It's uncomfortable when someone invades your personal space, which is what she's doing.
She just being sweet! She likes to have a focus and energy with her people. It’s like when you meet someone and have “tunnel vision” with that person. She gives that attention to all her guests ❤️
I understand it’s her thing and I actually like Drew’s personality, but I think sometimes consider that not everyone wants their hands held in one position, or the interviewer sitting super close almost throughout an interview . I hope she asks her guests if they don’t mind. It’s a bit selfish… but I LOVE Drew. ❤
Why tf wouldn’t Oprah say she’s uncomfortable? She has an entire book about asserting boundaries. You’re literally infantalizing her as a helpless woman who can’t speak up. She’s more than capable and she did - and she said she enjoyed it.
WHY is this considered creepy when its a man, but drew is invading everyones personal space so much. I feel like she's trying way too hard to be close to her guests, but she's taking it too literally🙃
I love Drew and find her show very kind and authentically refreshing. I appreciate that she really does appear to be listening and in tune with her guests. However, I think we all have to be careful how we approach different individuals because we are not all the same. What may work for someone might not work for the other.
Drew had a rough growing up. I think it's normal for her to want to connect with people and wonderful for her to be so open and sweet with everyone. I would love just to meet her and shake her hand, feel her warmth in person. She's a breath of fresh air.
Honestly it did make me uncomfortable the way she was touching her. I thought it was disrespectful and way inappropriate for that situation. However, It's Drew..;She's all HEART and she's amazing at what she does. She should continue being herself...She has a beautiful endearing energy!
People are so cold and closed off in general, almost bitter or arrogant, so it’s not unusual for so many to be put off by the public display of constant affection from a host with many of her guests. Affection is a turn off for Thai world. That’s why there’s so much anger, hate and judgment.
Americans can be so judgemental. Drew is heartfelt and very empathetic & as such connects more deeply. She cares about people and their experiences and wears her heart on her sleeve. Her guests know this about her and love her for it. It’s not rocket science.
I find it interesting that she wants to get so close to her guests on the Show. There seems to be a neediness in her that longs to be fulfilled. Her upbringing must have played a role in Drew’s behaviour with her guests. She loves interacting with people. Said it herself. She loves people. Everyone displays their various traumas in life differently. Oprah sees Drew’s heart, and so she decided to accept that need for Drew to be close to her.
Drew is making it creepy at times. There's a limit, or you only do it with guests who she knows really well. Its almost obnoxious now, like she knows it may upset viewers and she keeps doing it. I love Drew too but something is feeling a bit off about it lately
Drew is the best. She is a breath of fresh air and has an energy that is a mix of calmness and sweetness. Finally, a talk show host that listens and asks deep questions. We have been without this far too long.
I think with Oprah - Drew sees her as a mother figure and Oprah knows that type of figure has always been a huge void for Drew. So Oprah as you can see clearly understands
I knew this was gonna come up after watching the interview. For one, having been an avid fan of Oprahs for years, I knew she would not have any issue with the close contact and would likely find it endearing. Oprah has shown publicly she has no issue stating her boundaries. Also, consenting physical contact has almost become a staple part of Drew's brand. Love both of these ladies! (Still peeved about drew's choices during the SAG-AFTRA negotiations, but people are allowed to make choices and learn from them)

@@sevenofnine2233what makes you say that. What did she do to you?
@@sevenofnine2233 Neither is Drew
I don't think she means any harm. She's just touchy Feely. Hey, the world needs more LOVE ❤️
I like Drew Barrymore and like that she stays true to herself.😊
Yes!!! Thank you!!! 🏆
Staying true yourself shouldn't include evading someone's personal space. That's unprofessional.
@@YouBettaKnowIt Oprah liked it. Why are you upset? 😂🤣
@Philly4Really I don't believe Oprah liked it. Regardless of what she stated, there is no way Oprah, who understands the media, would be bold enough to say she didn't like it. It would cause all sorts of controversy
@@YouBettaKnowIt Are you nuts? She felt good about it.
This does not make her guests feel comfortable. If anything, it's just the opposite affect. How would you like someone to rub your arms and thighs?
Poor Oprah, I would’ve felt uncomfortable af
Leave drew Barrymore alone. I am so proud of her she came a long way.
Someone who gets it!! Thank you for this comment. You are the real MVP!! 🏆 👑
If the tables were turned and it was a man he would be fired.
It's uncomfortable when someone invades your personal space, which is what she's doing.
she makes me smile and laugh...she is real with herself
I always liked Drew. If Oprah is not complaining why are other Humans complaining 🙄
She just being sweet! She likes to have a focus and energy with her people. It’s like when you meet someone and have “tunnel vision” with that person. She gives that attention to all her guests ❤️
Oprah understands Drew's love language is touch and she humanized the interview.
Drew's care and kindness brought tears to my eyes.
She is so loving. I think people just picture her still as the little girl from ET. She is so nurturing.
So bizarre and uncomfortable I can’t watch her. Also of course Opera is gonna say that, she won’t ever say she uncomfortable even if she was
*Oprah
And I agree 💯
@@srso4660 stupid spell check 🤓
She's a celebrity fan and that is cool
This comment is literally the dumbest comment I've ever read in my life.
I love every human being on the planet? Who says that?? We need more people like Drew in the world!! She is an absolute breath of fresh air!
Nah…we need more people to respect people’s personal space. Metoo should also mean women keep their hands to themselves too.
So, she's affectionate That isn't like a creepy human liking to give erotic embraces
Yeah she loves Taliban members who murder women for showing their ankle? I don’t think so.
Drew loves Oprah like a mom.❤️🥰
Yes I agree she needs to learn boundaries, it just looks really uncomfortable how in their faces she is
I love Drew and find her show very kind and authentically refreshing.
Drew Barrymore is absolutely harmless...Drew needs and loves connection
She’s spreading love and the world needs it
Honestly it did make me uncomfortable the way she was touching her. I thought it was disrespectful and way inappropriate for that situation. However, It's Drew..;She's all HEART and she's amazing at what she does. She should continue being herself...She has a beautiful endearing energy!
Love both of them...hardworking women!!☺
I wasn't sure where this was going, but yes!! You get it!! 🏆
She’s just being herself and I love to see it. I hope she doesn’t allow people to change her. Be unapologetically you, Drew.
I love Drew, she is so down to earth, hence the reason why her guests are comfortable with her. Obviously, if they werent, they wldnt put up with it❤❤
if oprah was comfortable with it, there is no discussion. close affection is not a crime.
Unbelievable how Drew ALWAYS touches her guests...... it's just too much!!!
Yes! Since Oprah left her show there's been an emptiness but that being said Drew's show is....um...well....
A little too:
TOUCHY FEELY....
I would love if men stop warring so I can have 43560 square foot of land. I have a green thumb 👍. < Not
I think with Oprah - Drew sees her as a mother figure and Oprah knows that type of figure has always been a huge void for Drew. So Oprah as you can see clearly understands
I feel her heart through. It’s endearing and nice
There's something likeable about Drew. She's very authentic, quirky and you can tell she's not fake.
Oprah was just being polite. I'd put a fence between me and Drew if I were on her show. 😂🤣😂🤣
I'd say the likelihood of you ever having to do that is ZERO.
THAT'S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN....THAT NEGATIVE ENERGY WILL KEEP U IN THE COMMENT SECTION....BYE
@@areli2909lol
@@connielabo689U have no idea. I've already been on at least one talk show.
I love Drew!!!! She is a beautiful soul!!!!
(Still peeved about drew's choices during the SAG-AFTRA negotiations, but people are allowed to make choices and learn from them)
it was super uncomfortable to watch 😬😆
Hope Drew asks her guests consent before getting al up in their personal space like that
Drew is amazing nothing wrong this is just how she is.
She's a lovely personality!
Oh please. Oprah knows how Drew is that’s why it’s nothing. You guys Drew is real af. Meet her in person she’s that way unless you’re a stalker.
Snap out of it people!!! Wake up. There are fkng wars and genocides and economic depression going on in the world right now. It's embarrassing how ridiculous folks who are uncomfortable about this are...
Drew's entire life can be summed up in one sentence... She's always been so authentically herself. Her entire legacy is spreading joy and accepting you, me, them, everyone as exactly who they are. How quick people are to try to bash her for being herself. Drew Barrymore is a national treasure. Go get a job. Learn something. Educate yourself. Get a hobby. Understand how ridiculous your criticisms are and spare us the idiocy.
How are you uncomfortable with another person's comfort? A martyr for absolutely nothing. Lol. There are SO many other things society should go be uncomfortable about... Has everyone lost all their marbles or what?!? 😂 🤣 Snap outta it!!! 🤌🤌🤌
She needs to keep her hands to herself period
@@blushbaby5278 Oprah said she found it endearing and liked it. And that she loves Drew Barrymore. So, no, no she doesn't need to keep her hands to herself. You can keep your hands to yourself. And Drew can continue to touch whoever she wishes, that she knows and understands it's okay to touch. 👍
We all know Oprah was wishing it would stop!!!! Probably last time she goes on the show! ❤Drew but she may want to check herself....it's not cute or funny.
I personally would be uncomfortable with someone being so far into my personal space. But if it is okay with Oprah then no harm done. It’s important to stay aware of your interviewee’s comfortable level and not overstep.
Oh my goodness, after three years of covid, living without much human connection, Drew is wonderful. We need more love in the world,,,seriously!
Drew is a loving person let her spoil her guest😍
Drew constantly, consistently invades her guests’ personal space. I find it creepy while watching. She gets right in their faces, way too close for comfort. It’s inappropriate and again, creepy…
This is so weird with Chet rubbing Oprah’s arm. She must be extremely insecure.
I love Drew and everything about Drew! She’s awesome, kind, funny, real, and doesn’t care what you all think.
She loves Oprah. Drew truly grew up knowing her. she was a child on her show. Think about it, she happy to see someone who was really kind to her when young.
Yes and Oprah was completely fine, and it looks like her other guests are too. Only people who have too much time on their hands are making a big deal of it.
This is the best representation of physical touch love language I've ever seen! 😂😂😂
I’m so sorry but it’s weird. I’m missing the 6 foot distance rule lol
Seriously....drew....she is like this with all her guests
I see her get cozy and comfy with her guests, and it doesn't seem weird, just kind of matches her personality and vibe.
Sometimes comfort can be a form of control as if the person is saying "you bet not disrespect me cause I was nice to you".
Thing is also: Drew isn't a newbie , not in the industry, not for her guests.
& Drew is like that so 🤷🏻♀️
Some times you just dont want to hurt SOME people feelings. Its out there now so i think she might be more careful when she wants to touch on people. She will think about it first . They have a name or 2 for people that do that.
What's with the touching and stroking? It's too much. Very disrespectful, too. Back up, Drew.
Stop creating issues where there are none. Drew is just a love bug who needs human connection as we all do. There is no ill intent ❤
it would also not be an issue if a male interviewer did it
I think Drew has torn down all walls and just loves! She had an insane childhood and teenage years. I don’t think she was loved the way she deserved. Is it uncomfortable to watch, yes. In addition, Hollywood needs to stop the Ozempic!
Drew is such a vibe ❤
Her crew needs to intervene.
It's definitely weird and creepy. She lacks self-restraint.
I love Drew but she really does encroach on peoples personal space and it’s uncomfortable to watch.
Drew you’re a beautiful soul ❤😍🥰
It's absolutely ridiculous she's too much into their space it's unprofessional.
I agree….way too close🫢! Guests would never tell her though, it’s called PERSONAL SPACE!!! I love her but it’s just to much!
Maybe have someone ask the guest before the show how comfortable they are with the touchy feely stuff. Some of them do look uncomfortable.
I love how Drew is with her guests, she's just being herself and endearing as well to her guests. I don't think she is doing anything wrong. If the guests don't like it, then 1. Say something before the show to Drew , or staff to let her know Or 2. Don't come on the show !
Simple as that ! If I was her guest, I wouldn't mind at all if she was that close to me, we are having a conversation with each other and it would be nice to have someone on the couch talking with me and me talking with her personally. I'm sorry I see No offence with how Drew gets close to the people she is interviewing. She's being herself! I'm such a huge fan of her's. She's Amazing ❤🎉
I was getting uncomfortable when I saw Drew rubbing Oprah’s arm.
How dishonest Hollywood is .
Why does people have to criticize constantly and be so negative? Drew is a kind hearted woman and that’s how she expresses herself. Oprah clearly did not feel uncomfortable and I’m sure if you ask all of her guests that she makes everybody feel loved. Get over it people!!!
Drew is a rare kind breed.. love is expressed many ways! Her language is touching its fine relax you weirdos that wasn’t shown real love n affectation 💕😂😅
Honestly I think it's Drew just being herself we're so used to everybody being so uptight and distant, Not just on TV but in our own lives. That when we see closeness it makes us uncomfortable. But honestly I think the only thing that matters are her guest comfort. But I'm sure them seeing the show they expect her to be up close and personal. I love drew. I love the show. You rarely see people who get to be themselves on TV I love her genuine curiosity about people and life and everything. And I wish that we had that level of closeness with each other I feel like thered be less anger in the world.
Y’all are silly, Oprah’s highly affectionate too.
I love Drew. And nothing wrong with who she is and how she communicates.
