Very nice clip. My family is from Latin America. We came from Spain to the Americas around 150 years ago. My ancestors are Spaniards, Sephardic and Berbers. We have a tradition where we keep two statues(male and female) of Gypsies in our home for good luck. Have you ever seen that before. Just always wondered about your traditions.
I am a gypsy from the United, States, and i love all Roma, the music is just fab, Thank You ,, aiboulut,,, bless you ,, please keep the gypsy music commin,, peace and love to all,, your friend from California, USA,, The Adams Family. : ) +
I am from Rome, I am a MD, an Immunologist. Tried to go to a gipsy camp in south bulgaria, with my wife, by caravan. We were received like kings and spent three days with them sourrounded by smiles, simpaty, music and food. An enchanting experience, I'll never forget. I will always love rom people. Antonio
Bullshit !!! I am gypsy, well educated with many university degrees and it is the media that have convinced people that all gypsies are like a very small % of the romanés population that do bad things but gypsies are from so many different ethnic groups...We are Kalderash, manuches, Domaris, gitans, ciganos, Black dutch and much more so get informed before judging the gypsy world because of few bad gypsies near where you live! There are many english, irishs, latinoamerican and born european and middle east gypsies and gypsies all around the world that have nothing to do with your stupid prejudicies!
As i said i meant gypsies in czech republic only.. i dont know about the rest of the world... im speaking out of experiences i had pleasure to get with them in czech republic.. im sure not all of them are the same and im sure you must be much more clever than me i didnt mean to offend you im sorry for that but gypsies in czech republic are trully who iam saying they are..
Neko Witchi Whatever boo look I'm a gypsy from Czechia and I ain't fucking around, I'm in college now and I know loads of other gypsies who are successful so basically most of you white czechs are just stereotyping us ...
I bought this DVD recently and fell in love with the Gypsy culture. I love your culture Romani, Gittana, Gypsy, etc. Your women are beautiful. I can't wait to learn more about your culture through music and visiting Europe someday.
Braulio Ronzon Valdelamar It has two titles in English under which it can be found. Queen of the Gypsies or The Gypsy Camp goes to Heaven. Can be found on RUclips with English subtitles.
From what I have read, Gypsies are originally from India. From there they began their worldwide journey. Since it dangerous to tell anyone they were from India, they said they were Egypt. This is where the term Gypsy is derived from. Say Egypt a few times and you will see what I mean.
+Marcaz Actually, both their customs and genetic markers, as many lingvistic behaviors tie them with India. That means thither they migrated from India or both Gypsies and Indians have a similar origin, when Indians migrated and/or populated India, in the East, and Gypsies moved South. Genetically speaking, Gypsies are he closest living population related to the Indo-Europeans that migrated to Europe and mingled wth the Proto-European.
Pratik Zulkarnine They are not all. Every nation has its dryness. Not all people are the same. Stop to catalog an entire nation because of a few. What you say is hypocritical.
I was born in Romania, and I met all kinds of Gypsys. I'm Hungarian by nationality, but I always felt that a part of me may be Gypsy, whenever I hear their music, or see how united they are I hoped to be part of that. Of course they have some bad ones and some good once, what I think is that is all about a individual experience, open mindness, and how willing is to allow itself to say "I been good and I been bad, how is that changing the opinions of others about me???"
According to the interviews on the DVD case, "Gypsies Are Found Near Heaven", most of the supporting cast are Carpathian Gypsies (between Hungary, Ukraine and Romania). This is one of the favorite songs from this movie, "I Split the Red Apple" (a.k.a. Hop, Hop, Hop).

Rodicka (2 months ago) This is a moldavian movie, made in sovietic period, it's not a russian movie for sure. The producer was Emil Loteanu - moldovan producer. Svetlana Toma (Rada) and Grigore Grigoriu (Zobar) - moldovan actors. Emil Loteanu was born in Clocusna, Romania [now Moldova],so he's borned as romanian Svetlana Toma was born in Chisinau, Russia (now Moldavia) as a conclusion,it's not only an moldavian movie, because the writer and the producer is Emil Loteanu
Gypsies are originally from from India. They migrated west and the main path branched out in today's Iran. Some went to the northwest and settled in Anatolia...Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia... The second group went southwest and settled in north Africa, Morocco and Spain. The term Gypsy is taken from the word Egypt. They picked up different nation's languages and music along the way. I love their music...Viva Roma! Viva Gypsies!
I totally agreed with you. I love gypies people and amazing culture. I find them to be beautiful and exotic ethnicities group people n the world. I wish I was born to gypsy family or at least being mixed. : )
@utubegaga The actress is Svetlana Toma. She is ethnically Romanian, as is the main male character Grigori Grigoriu (darkened with heavy make-up and a handlebar moustache). The rest of the cast is ethnically Romanian, Ukrainian and Russian. The short, swarthy, typically Gypsy looking extras may have been genuine Gypsies. The music in not real Gypsy music, but a Romantic interpretation of Gypsy tunes from Russia, made by Soviet-Romanian (Moldavian) composer Yevgeni Doga.
so beautiful...hve searched for movies on gypsies and come upon to this....Gypsies fascinated me from childhood ..thats fascination leads me tarot card reading and other stuffs for these people are mainly famous for...also heard of the famous beauty of the gypsy girls.:) want to know more about their culture...pls friend can you help me...can anyone tell me from which film this scene has been taken and some good sources or films or documentaries on Gypsy people and their culture....plssss :) Thnx In advance.
@ash786ash Yes, it was (and maybe still is) the ROMA Gypsies who own many amusement parks, and many people agreed that they are really lovely people. I know a friend told me that they're different from the "Pikies" who have quite separate origins.
And now she is sitting outside my Lidl here in Sweden and begging for money and go totally mad when i ask in return for the money i give here to sing this song.....
@wapagold It makes sense. It is cold in Norway salsa and Latin music warms you up. I listen to gypsy music when I am cold like right now and the Sun is taking His time in coming up. No doubt still consorting with the Moon from last night. : )
@chicster99 I am sure the influence as is the case with all human interactions has been a mutual one. The first music school in southern Spain (Andalusia) was funded by a Persian musician by the name of Zaryab also known as Ziryab. That was almost 1200 years ago. Flamenco has its roots in Persian and Arabic music. Among the different branches of the Roma people there is also a Persian group for example called Luri! The influence is always reciprocal!
@biesseigen Don't make the mistake of generalizing. We have a gipsy daughter-in-law that I wouldn't trade for anyone. Her family from Hungary comes and stays with us sometimes and we have always enjoyed their company. We are dutch-canadians.

Much love to the most musical people on earth! Hail gypsies!

Solvig van Bilderbeek man i forme in România and i’m not gypsy, România îs not gypsy country lol

Your power of deduction always amazas me. Are all as smart as you are, or are you a special child?

I love the song but what is that look at the end!
I am gypsy and speak Czech
original title is "tabor uchodit v nebo". something like that. It means "gypsy camp goes to heaven".
Alexander took some Indians with him and they are considered gypsy today.
That was pretty neat.
