    I have switched from lip trills to humming as my habitual practice thoughout the day. Huge difference! Switching from humming to falsetto and head voice mid hum is teaching me to sing these pitches. I try each vowel off the hum. Going to really put this to practice. I'm a year into guitar, a deep baritone, and minimal singing ability but have made insane strides week to week. Started singing drills and theory via YT when i started doing open mic every week. You are the best on here! I think not naturally being blessed with a good (or "unlocked") voice makes you know what your students are capable of. As a coach/trainer/teacher, I notice most ppl lie when they say "anyone can get good" when it came naturally to them. Never good to have a coach who thinks they are more gifted. I prefer harder working, logical coaches with a wisdom via overcoming adversity. Excited to improve via your concepts

      Great coordination builder to let each vowel emerge from a hum.

    If you want to improve not just your voice but your entire understanding around contemporary singing, do yourself a huge favour and get private lessons with Mark. I've worked with him for years and he totally turned my voice around - and the self-confidence of learning to trust my voice spread to every aspect of my life.
    Years ago, people always liked my songs but weren't sure if I was the guy to sing them. Now I can rock a crowd and get standing-O's. Thanks, Mark.

    Got Mark's book a few days ago and already with just a few pages in, I'm getting a lot of answers for my singing generally and mind body connection!
    Easy to read book too where I can hear Mark's voice coming through the pages. He writes as he speaks!
    Great opportunity to "get inside my vocal coach's head!"
    I have already recommended Mark's book to my youngest son who is interested in rapping and producing 😊
    UPDATE on the above:
    Finished reading my first run of the book within 2 weeks and reading it again to pick up on the great little nuggets in it! 😁
    Great timing for the start of my new job as the book teaches me to be a singer first, who also happens to be a sales person for my employer!!
    If you like Mark's sense of humour, you'll find it in the book too!
    Excellent singer's book!👌🏽👏🏽🤩
    I am a gospel singer.
    Enjoy!

MERCI Mark !

    I am so much at the bottom of the ladder. Recently I have taken up singing lessons at -almost 60-LOL 😁😄. I was not born with a beautiful voice as some people, but I love/love singing. I always did and I was better singing alto. I can harmonise and stay on pitch-I guess this is one bonus point 😊. Weirdly enough I have joined one of the singing team in our church and that also pushes me to continuously improve as I notice my wishy-washy sound 😂.
    I so appreciate your educational and motivational videos. It makes sooo much sense and it is easy to understand for beginners too. I listen to them, make notes and as I try to implement them I also share them with my teacher. Again, thank you for this video, and the others too-and I am very thankful to have found you on RUclips. 🙂🙏.

I am self-taught, but have learned so many things from you that have definitely helped me to enhance my ability. Oh, by the way..I did buy your book many years ago when it first hit the book stores. Thanks Mark for the tip, just in time. Could I just ask you if you have ever came accross a student who put a lot of time, energy into singing and just "was not meant to be a singer". As I feel right now. There are times I feel great progression, but things like weather changes, pressure of performing or just life stressors get me down & no matter how slowly I warm up, my voice just does not cooperate with me. Lack of consistency & stamina sees to be getting in a way of me booking regular gigs. Thanks a lot for your videos, however, you are really inspiring teacher. Peter

    • @voicelessondotcom
      @voicelessondotcom  5 лет назад +2

      Your struggles are exactly what I dealt with - the only difference is that I had to keep performing in order to eat. So I slugged it out on stages each night and developed consistency and stamina while gigging instead of waiting to get better before booking regular gigs. I know it seems counter-intuitive but diving in is the best way to learn.

    Hi Mark.those are great tips!!! I'm a beginner into this singing journey.I just started singing about a month ago but ' ve been vocalizing for very long.l do that humming exercise on your channel every day. I could sustain the hum for 15 secs but now I find it difficult, my voice breaks alot,maybe I'm adding more pressure and also at the start of the hum for few secs no sound comes out and I ve to put tiny effort to make humming sound.Maybe my voice is in bad condition. Should I stop singing and just vocalize.??? It's really hard for me not to sing. It's just my passion. I can't imagine not singing!!!! Maybe there's a better way....
    Your advice would really be appreciated!!!

    • @voicelessondotcom
      @voicelessondotcom  5 лет назад

      It may be allergies, diet, sleep, stress, etc. effecting your voice. As long as you are approaching the hum gently it's OK to continue. Remember it's OK to sound bad - but it's not OK to feel bad. So don't push or force your voice to make it sound better.

    • @maryamzahid5149

    • @voicelessondotcom
