Gary, That was such a beautiful and heartfelt tribute to your good friend. You started on a journey together, and life ultimately took you in different directions, as life often does! You were able to re-connect and stay in touch. God has blessed you with the ability to speak from your heart, as you did for Tommy Mara. I have lost many friends and family as of late . While my heart breaks from each loss, I smile to think how they’re in a better place! I have been a lifelong fan since you released Woman, Woman one week before my 13th birthday! I thank you for a lifetime of music and memories! Thank you also for being such a kind person! God bless you and your family! Take care and stay safe! Toni
Mr. Puckett, my brother meet you in the West Spfld Massachusetts area when you were there entertainingly and although I was not there my brother ( Ray ) you gave an autograph Disc. of your great hits with my name Luis. One of your greatest fans Mr. Puckett.
Your fans were right there with you, Kerry, and the rest of the UG. We love you like family for all the happiness you gave us. I still watch those old performances on shows like Ed Sullivan, but watching them now is becoming a bit more bittersweet. But we know there's a rock n roll heaven just waiting for us all where we'll be embraced in His arms and the greatest welcome home party will begin. God bless Kerry and you too Gary.
I was at one of those 280 concerts in 1968. The Gap were all great musicians. I remember the two Hammond organs and members switching to different instruments. As a young bass player I watched Kerry closely to see if I could learn anything. He was a great musician and songwriter.
270cpncerts in one year freaking unbelievable and incredible!!! Beautiful tribute!!!! The Union Gap seemed to lose its momentum when Kerry Chater and Mutha Withem took jobs with AnM Records. My Son a heartbreakingly sad song. And “If The Day Would Come “ a beautiful song co - written by Kerry,Mutha and Gar Puckett!!!!!Kerry if I’m not mistaken went to Helix High School in La Mesa,San Diego county!!
That was a well written tribute to Kerry ! Finally someone said something about this man and his contributions to music. He will be missed!!
Met and talked with Mr. Pucket. A true gentleman and great singer. Caring person.

Kerry Chater was an immensely talented man. Do your heart a favor and pick up Kerry's CD "Part Time Love". Beautiful lyrics and melodies. RIP Kerry.
