Thank you for this series about the Romanovs, especially the children. I can’t understand why the butchers who murdered the family thought that killing innocent children was acceptable. If Maria and her sisters had lived I think that they would’ve been a positive force for good in the world. RIP OTMA.
Thank you for your kind words and for watching the series on the Romanovs. It's truly a tragic story, but their memory lives on.
Yes these kids were amazing.
So much so that the hateful Bolsheviks had to change the guards because the guards who were dealing with the family like them so much they knew that they were not going to be able to be harsh with them the way the Bolsheviks won it so they had to change the guards out because it was too hard not to fall in love with this family
They were victims along with millions of others of their parents. Remember there would have been no Bolsheviks without the misrule of Nicholas and Alexandra.
That's just it the Bolsheviks of the time did not want there to be a continuation of the Romanov family line.
Don't forget the romanovs were a ruling family there in Russia for at least 300 years. The people were growing tired, they were growing weary, and now of late they had begun to starve and there was mass starvation going on throughout the country. In addition the Bolsheviks felt that because the girls were of marriageable age they did not want there to be a continuation of the Romanovs. If in fact the girls were left living and their parents were dead.
The story of Maria over her relatively short life was most interesting like the period in history itself. I look forward to watching some further videos from that time and place. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you found Maria's story intriguing.
It's hard to believe that these facts, photos and video clips are from just a hundred years ago. Thanks, Jon!
It's incredible how much has changed in just a century! Thanks for watching
Another wonderful episode on the Romanovs. Excellent work. Thank you, Jon 👍🏻💖
I'm glad you enjoyed the episode, thank you for your support Marie
All of the Romanov daughters were very beautiful.
They truly were! Their beauty and grace are still admired to this day. Thanks
Hi Jon! This video was worth the wait. When I was watching it my heart melted. Maria is my favorite of the sisters. I think she resonated with me a lot. I recall one book (long time ago) Col Kobylinsky (I think), who accompanied Marie and her parents to Ekaterinburg when the others were left behind in Tobolsk due to Alexei's hemophilia attack, developed a crush on her. Not sure how true that was though. Her nanny Margaretta Eagar was gossiping about the Dreyfuss affair when Marie ran out of her bath. There was also a possibility she was a hemophilia gene carrier. When her tonsils were removed she bled more than the usual. Prince Carol of Romania after being rejected by Olga asked Nicholas II if he could marry Marie instead. Nicholas laughed and said she was still a school girl. Maria would've been a great mother.
Your kind words mean a lot to me, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts on Maria and the historical tidbits. Thanks
She looks so much like her paternal grandmother, Empress Maria Feodorovna.
It's amazing how family resemblances can span generations! Thanks for watching
Another great episode. Keep them coming.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the episode Mary Ann
Thanks for the video!
Thank you for watching and supporting the channel Liam
This is such a sad story! She, like her sisters, were beautiful young girls. I know the sad story behind their awful massacre and why.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this tragic event.
Thank you, a well researched and interesting video.
Thank you for appreciating the effort put into the video.
Hi Jon awesome live history video I enjoyed it have a great day see you next video 😊
Thanks! You too!
Thank you for this content. Maria is my favorite from Romanovs sisters ❤❤❤
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Maria is indeed a fascinating figure from the Romanovs.
I’m enjoying these videos so much. The only sister I’ve ever know about is Anastasia. Thank you for bringing the history of the other sisters to us, Jon.
Thank you for your kind words! It means a lot to know that you appreciate the content. Anastasia is up next!
Thank you Jon beautifully done just two little ones to go 🌸
Thank you so much for the kind words! I really appreciate your support. Just one to go Theresa!
@@HistoryRoadshow okay I thought you might talk on the little boy but it's been wonderful🪻
Just covering the sisters, for now!
@@HistoryRoadshow thank you Jon I truly love your channel since we can't go back in history I dream through these lovely videos 🌸☕️📚👍
Very nice story!
Thank you for watching!
The series is wonderful I know you hear about the czar, the Carina, Czarevich Alexis........& OTMA.
Thoes wonderful girls lived lives ( each as individuals) that deserve to be told.
Thank you. I am loving this series.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for appreciating the individual stories of these remarkable girls. It means a lot!
So sad that the children were murdered. I read a really old book about those who were thought about who the girls might marry. Of course it was written before the war!!!
It is indeed heartbreaking to think about the loss of innocent lives. Thanks for watching
You are really bringing these beautiful girls to life.
Have you considered a video/s on the Mitford Sisters? They are fascinating, but not quite as sympathetic as the Romanov Sisters!
I'm grateful for your feedback and will look into the Mitford Sisters for a future video.
@@HistoryRoadshow I second this. I know this may have been covered a lot how about doing videos on the Sultanate of Women?
Maria was naturally beautiful. She looked like a female version of Nicholas.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Thank you Jon! Every time I see or hear about Rasputin I cringe😢!
Rasputin definitely had a way of leaving a lasting impression! Thanks Theresa
To be conclusion...
For Anastasia
The final sister and probably most talked about is Anastasia next up! Thanks
I've always thought Maria was the most beautiful of the sisters.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Thanks for watching
It was tragic Maria had such stupid parents.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It's important to reflect on how our upbringing can impact our lives.
In my opinion.. Maria was the most beautiful OTMA.
Thank you for sharing your opinion! Maria's beauty truly shines through in many ways.
Why weren’t those girls married? Especially the older ones? Not like they were bound to celibacy and nunneries like days of old
It's interesting how societal norms have evolved over time regarding marriage and personal choices. Thanks for watching
Olga rejected Prince Carol of Romania's suit. In fact all the girls didn't like him. Olga said that she is Russian and wants to remain one. I guess it was the same with all the sisters.
