  • during a bad rain storm, mom sent her two cubs up this douglas fir and she took refuge underneath. That was OK until she started strolling toward the house. Yelling and beating the grill grate cleaner on the grill got her to turn around and head up the tree. Turn up the volume to hear her complain

    Black bears in general are pretty much docile, even sows with cubs. Leave them alone and they’ll leave you alone.

      Sometimes... not always just remember even though they are black it doesn't mean they are any less dangerous there's plenty of attacks with black just as much as grizzly I would say but I would have to look at statistics. I think that it all really boils down to timing and place hope you always end up on the right side of both of those in any encounter every bear is different.

      yes and space from human houses is required for them to stay alive. We have a saying "a fed bear is a dead bear" so we do everything, including electric fence to keep them safe and alive.

      I was outside working in my garage late, past dark. We regularly have a black bear with cubs in the spring, never heard them chuff before, she was chugging and close. We just put up bird feeders again, I know she was just letting me know she's there but I had never heard a bear chuff, and this was x5 what was on this video possibly because she was so close, like 30 yards from previous foot prints this year. Holy smokes, I didn't know what I was hearing but it could only be a bear a person....or alien.

    I heard that huffing and growling when I was camping in the Green Swamp bear was circling in the saw palmettos surrounding the campsite I hear the huffing noise and some growling I did what you did I crawled out of the tent grabbed a pine log and banged on the metal fire ring while I quickly tried to reignite the fire and then I began to sing Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song!" and it left after about 15 minutes...I remembered not to show fear and remind myself that I was a the top of the food chain

      The worst experience I ever had with a bear, and the only experience , was a bear huffing and grunting and rubbing its nose on the tent by my head. Someone did the same and It left

    Be truthful,I viewed the bear stomp the ground a sign that the person behind the camera is invading the bear's space.The bear is feeling threatened.

    • @angela-sanders
      @angela-sanders  3 года назад +7

      I was on the deck at the back door of our house. The bear is coming down towards the house and those of us that live with bears know that we have a role to play to keep them safe and alive. They do not need to learn to come to houses, nor teach the littles ones. They get put down by wildlife control if they become "pests". We must scare them off and make sure they NEVER associate humans and houses as OK.

      I love bears but give them the respect they deserve. If I was an actual threat to her cubs, then yes, she probably would have charged, but I was not. I was 100 feet away and on our deck. They are mostly very gentle creatures, unless threatened.
