There is a reason why I view you as the patron saint of Machine Trinity... You, Stefan and Robin Renz are the paragons of excellence and diligence in whatever you do... As always, well fucking done! Kinda remarkable how ill thought out the Emco lathe is... A really nice machine visually, and the Emco style is definitely unmistakable to anyone familiar with any of their machinery, but the machine - when viewed through the lens of the 33rd degree machine design nitpicker - is a compounding sequence of bad decisions held together by a good amount of high grade iron... From inferior componentry lubrication to inadequate way geometry and sub-optimal structural reinforcements - it appears like a nice deal, but is the prototype of what has been branded by Stefan as ``tool/machine kits`` or projects that offer a good deal; requiring quite some secondary finishing operation to actually achieve that status... Tho, she was damn pricey for a ``kit machine`` back when she was freshly minted... As said - well fucking done, once again you confirm your greatness as a caretaker and an operator... Superb work with minimal molesting of the castings... Best wishes and kind regards! Steuss
Thank you for another high quality, information packed and useful video. A brilliant, flawlessly executed design. I imagine it will be a great pleasure to use. Cheers, F.C.
I absolutely loved this video. You've inspired me to make a detailed video of the changes I've made on my Weiler E30 in the last half year. I am surprised how bad the oiling was designed on that machine too. I've improved it but it would have been nice to see your video before I've made my changes, you had better ideas. I love this attention to details, when I see people like you over engineering stuff I don't feel that akward anymore. I can see the attention to detail in all the table sheet bends and shapes. I've added lubrication for the base of my tailstock too, but not for the quill. Now I just got an idea for a future project. Congrats for your video, I want more! 😄
Brilliant. Greatly appreciated. I have a DeValliere H140 which is similar to your V13, though I also have smaller Emco's and realize that a Devalliere will never be an Emco. My grandfather was born in Austria. You've inspired me to ponder a similar upgrade to my lathe.
Brilliant another Alex video before I go to sleep. It's only on this video I realised that you have changed your lead in music, I was really surprised to find that you changed it over 12 months ago.
EDM drilling is amazing. I am sure you know the details already, but Applied Science channel has a video "Drill through anything (conductive) with Electrical Discharge Machining" that is a great intro to the concept in the form of explaining his diy edm machine build.
Thank you for the follow-up on your last video. You have given me quite a few inspirations for modifications on my Super 11, which is largely a very similar machine, except smaller and lighter in every way. I won't attempt the deep hole drilling though, that's for sure. How is your WU50 coming along?
Hallo, tolle Arbeit.
Good! That is why i hold this dude as the patron saint of machinist excellence... Him, Stefan and Robin should make you question your approach and prior work, lest you treat the machines and your work in the very least - in the manner in which they do... Take your time, consider some modification, watch their stuff... Lubrication might just rank even higher than cleanliness of the machinery, as proper lubrication has the potential to literally forcefully wash away all junk and swarf, which while not a reason to neglect cleanliness - can forcefully maintain a machine in supreme condition by denying any otherwise potential wear... Machines are a beautiful thing, and they deserve the best... Especially the oldies made to have the potential to outlast humanity - as long as there are worthy machinists to take good care of them and operate them with love... Best regards! Steuss
Absolutely beautiful. Gone completely all out on this retrofit.

Kudos to you for sectioning that distributor; those are very clever devices.
This was amazing. This is by far turning into my favourite channel quick fast!!
Thank you Alex, very interesting and a worthwhile modification.
2 videos in a month. What a treat 😊
wow, you really went to town with those lubrication slots, overkill but awesome, thanks for sharing.
This seems like a good pace for videos. Hopefully you can keep it up, Alex!

2 videos in one week! 😮😁 Thanks for sharing your custom lubrication, a very ambitious project.
Thank you very much for showing this. Very interesting!

Amazing attention to detail. I wish I had your skills, patience and the time to improve my skills. Learned a few things today, cheers
Loved the video, extremely well thought out. Thank you very much sir.
Fantastic video Alex, very inspiring! I might have to look into getting some piston distributors
Waw!
Very technicaly argumented!
Like the channel
Keep up the good work!

Very nicely done !

Dang! Even more Alex! 🤩

Hello Alex, Love the videos.
What shirt are you wearing a 0:19 with the sleeve pocket and breast pocket?
This video gets bookmarked.
What would be the continuous flow version of this? Instead of just a 1.6 cu cm shot.
Your grandchildren will be dead by the time this machine is worn out if someone refills the pump reservoir every 10 years xD
thanks a lot !!
👍👍😎👍👍
When complete overkill is only just barely enough
If I see how properly lubed now, I start feeling Guilty to just use standard lubrication on my lathe…

can you please get a lav mic lol
How to be polite (not) 🙄
@@taunusmechanics you can't hear my tone; i didn't emphasize "please". i imagine you did in your mind
