- The oldest bar in Washington DC has faced a lot of challenges - moving several locations and going from owner to owner. But one thing never changed - it has been and still is the place to find the who's who of the Beltway cutting deals and talking politics, all with a cocktail and some oysters. The location previous to this one (1983) was my absolute all time favorite bar. And I am a certified bar fly. They had the best French Onion soup ever and the environment was so welcoming. The new place is very impressive and I do enjoy it, but it does not hold a candle to the previous spot.
Been there about 2008, fantastic atmosphere. What I remember most was the steps leading to the basement bathrooms made of granite, they had depressions worn into them from decades of use
I can here 3 times in one day before my flight it’s that’s good
Some of the best bar food and the seafood towers are great.
You can't get a better meal for a better price and the customer is always right 💯
Worked there many years met many famous folks.... What you say about going there after protesting is funny. Each year when they have the darn abortion/pro life march's on the coldest day of the year the place fills up. There are a few tourists mixed in with a whole lot of protestors from both sides. Makes for interesting ambiance.
Great place, better burgers.
Best burger I ever had honestly
That ranch hit so hard
