- The best player in each position at the Rugby World Cup in 2023! With so many huge individual performances, it's hard to narrow it down to just one in each position.
I've managed to include players from a range of different countries, and used the data to really tell the story of who had the biggest impact in each position.

Thought I’d mention - South Africa are no doubt one of the best teams in World Rugby and approach World Cups as a squad better then anyone.
This team definitely is tailored more towards individual standouts & the stats, then overall team success.
I also firmly believe the boks bench have a way bigger impact and role in a game then any other side 👍 which also limits playing time etc. for many of their players.
They’re still an awesome team, with awesome players.
Man-for-man or as a match-day-23, today's Springboks and Abs line-ups, probably even the last france and ireland fielded, are significantly better than this ish....
Take du Pont, Sexton, Bundee Aki and maybe vd flier and furlongh, pick the rest from the finalists. Job done.

You got Aki and Savea right - they were ones of the few that maintained their level when under pressure. Most of the players were never under pressure like those who played in the knockout stages, and with the exception of a few who did, most could not maintain their level. The French flopped, especially du Pont as did Jordan in the final. Indication what pressure does - NZ vs Ireland, no handling errors from NZ, NZ vs SA, handling errors galore! Rugby is a team game -

With so many ABs in the dream team and Subs and only three Boks making it into Subs the ABs should have annihilated the Boks in the final. So obviously it is better to have 23 no 3-choice players in a team than a dozen no-1s!

Nah, I love the boks. Said it in a few replies - this was based on individual, statistical performance. The boks are the perfect example of a full team performance every time.
