I didn’t it so deep but I removed a lot of gunk and oil . I used carb cleaner and air compressed. With each valve closed I noticed each cylinder was clean
Hi bro, thanks for the video. One question: Do you know if when replacing an injector with a new one it is necessary to recode it in the ECU after replacement? If so, How can I do that if you know it please? Thanks in advance.
I don’t know why that would be necessary. The injectors only have two electrical connections so there is no programming or communication with them uniquely.
@@DansWay I think I saw that thing about recode on some Kia forum. I didn't save the link. I'm worried about it because I'm getting my 4 new injectors next weekend and replacing them on my car. Thanks again for this video. It's motivated me to do it myself.
Hi 🤗. You didn't want to try a cleaner first (bierman B12/lacquer thinner/Lucas fuel stabilizer mix, or BG 44K)? That noise that you heard that scared you at the end of the video sounds like my idle air controller clicking and buzzing on my spectra 😋, however it's not drive by wire. Is the escape a 3.0, love to see more💪
That could have helped much earlier in the deterioration process, but that cylinder was barely functional at this point. I chipped off a huge flake of crud from the injector when I first removed it. Thanks for the comment!
@@DansWay oh my I'm sorry that happened. I've been working on this Mazda 6 for a while now and I might have the same issue too regarding the injectors getting clogged up with so much crap due to lack of oil changes and maintenance from when I purchased it last year. I did initially do the Bernie's cleaner wishes I think CRF and cro 505 cleaner switch get help out. Using the endoscope I can see that the cylinders were getting cleaned but I had a lot of carbon on cylinders two and three on my 3.0. No wrong I'm glad you got it fixed the chorus I just hate you had to go through that trouble in that such a small amount of space.
@@DansWay sadly I'm at a standstill because I just had ankle surgery so I'll be out for probably 4 months or so. I just have left trying to fix those stupid OCV seals. I thought I had it fixed because the replacements don't fit in an OEM guides it popped out and one of the boats stripped. So I'm going to get creative using some RTV and I guess some lock tite epoxy or JB weld. That was one of the reasons why I was asking about your Ford escape If it was a 3.0. those are definitely easy to work on compared to the sedans with the VVT solenoids.
Im trying to clean my kia soul 2015 injector and i have cleaning kit. My injectors nothing come out when i press the pressurized carburetor cleaner can, at the same time pressing na continues pulsating tester. Any idea?
Thank you so much for posting this I'm getting fuel in my oil I have leaking fuel because of the fuel pressure regulator is faulty sending too much fuel to the fuel injectors which makes it back out and spill over onto the o-rings of the fuel injectors corroding them and then seeping into the engine and then getting into the engine oil. Can you point out to me with a fuel pressure regulator is located? Iran that it's on the driver's side of the fuel I did replace the fuel rail pressure sensor which is on the left side or passenger side of the fuel rail. I replaced the fuel rail pressure sensor. But now I have to replace the fuel pressure regulator which is on the driver's side of the fuel rail. Is there any way you can point it out to me on your video where that's located? I would really really appreciate it! Thank you.. RENMAN
Hey there, you will definitely need to go through a selector tool that takes your exact year/make/model/sub-model in mind. Go to a Autozone (or similar) and get the exact right part.
You almost dissembled the motor to do this. WOW. That is why we need to learn mechanic things to know what the Hell to buy. Better buy a car buy how maintenance must be done instead of looking attractive.
I appreciate you, Boss Dan for making this RUclips episode.
Wow, thanks so much for this! Somehow I didn’t see this comment and super-thanks until now. You are the 0.1% that gives those out 😀
Excellent excellent job 👏🏻
Hey, thanks for the comment! Did you get this done on your car?
Yes sir with your help was easier. I didn’t get the injector cleaning tool but I put new injectors oh and also I cleaned the valves.
@@gerardodonaire699 Awesome! How did you clean the valves? Did you remove the head?

Did the manual say to pull that fuse with this engine having a HPFP?
Yes this is a GDI (direct injection) engine so emptying and depressurizing the fuel rail made sense to me.

I expect it to be a direct swap out. Be sure to let us know how it turns out!
@@DansWay I hope so too and will definitely share my experience. Thanks.
Sucked for me because I had to slightly move the alternator to give me enough space to come out with the fuel rail
Ah man, bummer.

I subscribed your channel. Great video. Very informative. By the way how many mileage your car has?

Sure! Let me know what the differences are... I haven't worked on one of those yet.
I have a 2015, your sportage having jumpiness on acceleration that comes and goes?

Try to look for manual online
Query, did you remove the skid plate from the front of the engine?
No…? I don’t recall it having one. Perhaps it is missing…
Yah there 6-8 bolts and four clips that hold a skid pan on place. Removed it and bam 5 minutes later the bottom cable bracket bolt was off
@@BCEngineer321 ok, cool, thanks for the update...
Where did you buy the spacers between fuel injector and cylinder?
Are you referring to the Green o-rings?
@@DansWayDan they looked like a washer . U picked them out of the hole , after removing old injectors
God bless you bro❤
You too!
Hey Dan is there a good PN for just the replacement O rings? Going to give this a shot on a 2020 GT Line Turbo. TIA!

This is the DGI 2.4L 2013 motor as I recall...
