Yay I'm a big big fan of Nelly Furtado and saw the Loose tour which this song came from. I really would love to see you check out her earlier stuff such as I'm Like a Bird, On The Radio, Turn off the Lights, Powerless (original video is better imo) Try and Explode (cool animated video) to name a few lol. She had this real cool folksy type music mixed with hip hop, Latin influences, R&B and Euro pop. She's had a lot of great songs imo and is very underrated and only remembered for the Loose era where both this & Promiscuous came from. Nelly has a varied and unique sound with really good songs from both pre and post Loose era. . Thanks for another fab reaction ❤
Ohhh, I love this song so much!! Was released in 2006 as I remember I was starting my first semester of college. Her image was so different from her previous studio albums but still really cool. Her album Loose is really good!

She basically had her "I'm Like A Bird" stage, vanished for a bit, then came out of left field with this. Totally changed up her image and it worked. Not every pop singer can say the same.

I once said that i would protect a dog with my life,but if she/he ran off into a alleyway like that,leading into god knows what? I probably would need to be "strapping",to even think about just running/walking after my dog. People seem to be so careless and over the top bold in music videos,arent they? I think i slightly remember it being an "international version" that dropped first,the US version is far more "intimate and sweaty". I dont know where that other version went,but im guessing it was taken down from YT again? I dont even remember the full video,only wage bits and pieces,its been that long. But rest assured,it was just the video that was different,the song is identical. I believe Nelly Furtado shows abit more skin in the US version,and hey ....im not complaining over her feeling herself,showing off some abs. Funfact: First time i saw the song title,i thought she had done a cover of the 80s hit Hall & Oates had with the same name,"Maneater". But i quickly realized,it was 2 way different lyrics and songs. Im still torn with what Nelly song i consider her most beautiful one. Its 3 songs fighting about that 1 spot,and thats her first international hit Im Like A Bird,Do It & Say it Right. I cant find myself to put one of them over the others. 3 totally different songs,but all 3 are just amazingly beautiful. Do It might be the most "feelgood and dance" vibed one of the 3,but Nellys vocals in it is just too adorable.
