My football coach had a strange tactic. He said when he played football, his mother died on the same night his team lost the state finals. He said losses give him flashbacks. He would say "Boys, don't make me re-live that awful night. My heart can't take another loss. Don't put me thru that again."

The best pre-game speech I ever heard when I played inter-city baseball in the early 90’s was when our coach just came up to us on the line in left, told us to gather around him in a circle, and then he started singing the meow-mix song and walked back to the dugout. Oh yea. Thanks a lot you *fargin ICEHOLE*
Oh no he called that sissy Dad a Loser several times including in front of his wife.
Good to see one of the Cobra Kai alums doing well for himself and giving back to his community.
Josh Brunty 😆😆
What a nice guy.
I tried this with my employees by explaining that because I'm their boss, I'm the winner and they're the losers. Seems like I'm mostly inspiring them to quit.
I'm mentally ready to be a little league coach. I'm at a point in my life where I don't have a care in the world and man it feels good.
Have fun being a drunk
CriticalSurvival , WHAT???? That pep talk was the bomb and the kids loved it!!! Ohhhh.... you never played sports, did you???? Well, I really hate that for you. 😂😂😂😂
I coached little league!!! Did my best not to curse but it was a blast. Chewed tobacco and drank whisky out of a Gatorade bottle
@@CriticalSurvival0 Hey that is how my football ball coach was and we won state 3 years in a row. He always told us have fun out there but try to kill them at the same time😀
After decades of coaching I am writing a book,”Coaching Life Lessons through Baseball to Little Leaguers”. Send msg if you’re interested.
If this guy had been my coach, I coulda went pro.
No doubt
so you're a loser... and you're the only person who thinks this guy isnt toxic trash.. so only losers buy his toxic trash.... makes sense to me XD

@@ExaltedMarauder I mean, I actually like Korn AND Cream, believe it or not. Also, Korn hasn't been "teeny-bopper shit" since, y'know, I was a teenager. Which was two decades ago. Teenagers nowadays don't know who tf Tupac & Biggie are, they sure as crap don't know Korn. And also...its just a joke anyways.
A famous coach once said "winning isn't everything it's the only thing"
The best coach ever, Vince Lombardi
@@jasonrist6582 Oh, sounded kinda Al Davis-ish.
Because if winning wasn't everything they wouldn't keep score
And the great Leo Durocher, the best damn manager to ever grace the diamond, said "Nice guys finish last." I bet The Lip was smiling down from Heaven at that speech. He'd have given a better one though with several f bombs and a swift boot to the ass to the kid who said "try to win". No "try" to it. You win. Tear off their heads and shit down their necks. Stomp them into the mud and if they so much as lift their head, you stomp some more.
The coach who said that was a professional, who’s job was to win ..
not a volunteer coaching youngsters.

When the game's over. Regardless of the score, take the learning lessons with you. Exercise Graciousness, Humility and Pride.
Let's start getting tomorrow
I bet you haven't had a winning season in your entire life. I've coached little league and high school baseball for 25 years now, and my teams have won the championship every year but two. Did I give them your snowflake little goals? Hell no. I told them to get out there and WIN because winning is all that matters. Coincidentallyl, four players I have coached have gone pro.
@OutInLeftField2 that mindset and you specifically are the problem in coaching young adult student athletes. I won't mention all my accolades because you're not worthy to hear them, but I assure you they are plentiful. Coaching the likes of Greg Maddux, Lance Berkman, Marty Cordova, and many more.
I have conducted dozens of coaching clinics for youth baseball from Florida to Las Vegas, and you represent what I personally resonate with failure.
I love how he never says it's unacceptable to lose. Losing is part of life, everyone loses, but when you compete, you are competing to win....bravo coach.
“You mean better…” got a chuckle from that. The honesty of kids.
Hi
Kid was smarter than that idiot coach.
@@danschumacher5427Bro please don't tell me you just tried to get some in a RUclips comment section. If so that's beyond pathetic 😂😂🤣
Uh. I think you mean the intelligence of kids. Aka, these little dudes are smarter than this ridiculous excuse for a coach.
@stormcorrosion176 Wow!you are hurt. Idk who hurt you but i hope you get past it.
At the end, the man is trying to hustle back to his parked car to get a couple more gooder swigs of liqour before the game starts. A true man of culture.

No coach should tell very young children that their parents are losers simply because they told them to have fun playing a game. It's a parents job to prepare their children to succeed as adults, not this egocentric bozo
No we don't, he is a disgrace to the game.
@@artcarrasco9 no, that's you
I played baseball in the 70's and the coaches were awesome. They had us loving the game and trying our best. We played for the team. We encouraged each other. Good sportsmanship was demanded. And after the games we had pizza/ice cream/hamburgers etc.
And we rode to the pizza parlor in the back of a pickup truck... screaming our heads off
"WE WON, WE WON!!!"
Those were the days my friend.

Scott, these are the funniest videos! Your videos haven't been in my feed for a while and glad to see this one.
It's funny to me because this is how parents used to talk to their kids...
Reminds me of my childhood and I'm so thankful for it because I would have NEVER been motivated to reach my goals in life without it....
Coaches job is to win games..He’s being a great coach. Dad’s not a loser for telling his kid to have fun and it’s more fun to win.

Coach of the Year!
I had a coach who was a cop. He’d fire blanks if we messed up during practice. He remained silent during games. I was maybe 7 years old. Made me into the successful man I am today. God bless that man!

He’s right. Life isn’t a cake walk. If you’re not winning you’re losing
