How many of these type of tracks/covers are left overs from 15 Big Ones The Beach Boys over the years have done some excellent covers but for me some just don't work or show off the vocal talents I enjoyed the last two song/ covers on 15 Big One, why because I was unaware of the originals, they seemed heartfelt and fitted the Beach Boys progression at that time. This just like Rock and Roll Music and Peggy Sue jjust seemed like a rerun of an old tune and not particularly inspiring. I Was Made to Love Her, Bluebirds over the Mountains and Cottfields work.
Just wondering, from whom is the original , just asking because the next song in my playlist is the version from The Dollyrots. Though I like the Beach Boys version too, it can't make me going like the Dollyrots, what an icrease in speed and ..... ..... ... ?!
You should also check out Grumble’s cover of it on RUclips. They did a glam rock cover of it with falsetto vocals without a gender change in the lyrics. Grumble was actually the band 10cc under a pseudonym but it didn’t chart considering how big they were in the early 70’s.
