This year has been absolutely amazing for rap music. So many amazing artists dropping and the year isn’t even over yet. The last really good year was 2018 and this year has blown it away.
Fax, this year we've had the return of Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, Pusha T, JID, and Joey Bada$$. We got another great album from Denzel Curry, Logic, and Cordae. Griselda still dropping dope shit. The Game trying to start beef with Eminem (who knows how that's gonna end). Now we have Freddie Gibbs and YG with a new album. And now we gotta wait for Travis Scott and A$AP Rocky to drop there next album. This year is great for hip hop

Its not the best on the album but it might end up being the one I play the most cuz its so damn smooth. DJ Paul smoked that beat and Gibbs sound smooth as hell on it
Freddie Gibbs can be saying the deepest shit you ever heard, and then include something that reminds you that he is bordering drunk uncle rap. Phenomenal album from Freddie. I don’t know where it places in his discography yet but it’s near the top.
Fredrick is named after two characters from the critically acclaimed Nickelodeon sitcom iCarly. Freddie and Gibby. This is the genius of this bald-headed freak on full display.
This record is a masterpiece. If feel like you gotta listen to it multiple times in row if you don’t at first get it. I’m 20 plus times, and I listened to it on shrooms for 10 of em. Also if you watched Freddie’s episodes on Rogan it’ll give you a good look into some of the questions you had about those last songs, also why Jeff Ross can roast him on that. The concept is a casino in what seems to be a post apocalyptic Las Vegas.
I thougherly enjoyed this project. Only like 2 tracks I would play too often, Pain & Strife and Too much. Outside of those two tracks this project doesn't skip a beat. Flows beautifully, great writing, great production. No complaints.
I think I snapped my neck when the beat drops on "Blackest In The Room." This record isn't quite as thematically/musically cohesive the way that the fully Madlib- and Al-produced albums were, but it still bangs hard.
An amazing album dawg, gibbs is consistant as hell and keeps getting better. u know why he keeps releasing at a 1-2 yr pace wit consistant music quality y'all? Cuz he wants to make it and join the other goats of hip hop. he has that old school work ethic of pure rappers like krs, shady, weezy, pac etc. and i think gibbs will join the rank of the goats someday...maybe the third installment in his malib albums will goat him at last when montana releases. either way where it stands, this ranks up there wit his 4 classics (malib albums, alfrado, shadow if a doubt) and up there wit pusha & curry wit aoty.
