Great video mate… thanks. Hey I’m thinking of buying one of these machines but can’t justify the additional $600 they ask for the model that includes the OPV. You mentioned a kit that was available to install yourself. Can you help out with the link or details of the valve and fittings to do myself. I have repaired several coffee machines in the past so think I can do the job myself. Many thanks mate 🙏
Can you add the "dimmer mod" that a lot of people seem to do to their Gaggia Classic to this machine? I read on some forums that the flow rate is a bit much. Oh and does this version come with a vacuum breaker thing that you added to the Oscar 1ni your other video? 🤔
Actually it loops back to pump intake pipe below the water tank. Most OPVs drain into the tank and you could do this but this is a little rider with the way the tank sits in the Oscars
Isn't it weird that it has no hot water valve? Once you put water in the boiler for steam, it just sits there with no where to exit, except the TINY bit from the steam wand. Once you've owned the machine for 10 years, you'll be steaming milk with 10 year old water??
@@espressorestomelbourne1735 I installed it, it was M8*6mm on the inlet, Oscar I was M8*8mm, but gigler wasn't enough to slow down that flow rate further, I'm gonna installe flow restrictor at the outlet on the pump to reduce it to 10 seconds 50ml flow rate.
@@checkwhatsleft4565 do you have an OPV installed? I find that with the right grind, tamp and OPV set at 9bar, I get a reasonable flow out of the group.
Best company for Nuova Simonelli Oscar modification kits is Elektros.it in Italy. When I checked today though they seem to be having issues with part availability just like everyone. Get in touch with them about when they will be back in stock: www.elektros.it/au/en/Oscar_modification_Kit/
Can’t wait to see your review on the Oscar Mood!

Other option on this machine is to add a flow restrictor (gigler) in the brew circuit.
Why are you doing that to the coffee machine? What improvement does it bring?"
So with OPV installed you have an extra hose looping back into the water reservoir ?

Cost saving is the name of the Game for this machine. You can manually empty the boiler
is there an upgrade to adjust the flow because it’s too fast
Yes, you can insert a flow restrictor in the brew path. This is also known as a gigler. You can get the from Elektros.it
Have you installed the gigler on the Oscar ii?
Not on this machine. I have added Gigler to Oscar I.

What is a giggler?
@@makeme.coffee It's a hex socket set screw with 3mm hole in it, they call it giggler from Elektros.
