- It's been a while, Ladies and Gentlemen. I've had a very turbulent four years since I uploaded the first episode of the SMBZ reboot. Despite all the downs, I've always wanted to continue with the reboot and (hopefully) finish the series like I have always envisioned.
While I have been working on episode 2 very diligently over the past month. I decided to go back and make some alterations to the first episode. Mostly involving updating the text boxes to show the new progressive text I'll be using in the series going forward. But to also make a few minor tweaks here and there. Namely to one very glaring grammatical error that has been bugging me for years. I am quite happy with the episode as it stands now. Don't worry. I don't want to make it a habit to go all George Lucas on my series.
In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy this polished version of the first episode. If you wish to see progress updates for whatever I'm working on, be sure to drop me a follow on Twitter. I'll try to keep people updated as often as I can.

@@Gazing-09 Sadly, the creator himself had plagiarized a majority of the scenes of this show's opening and first episode. But hopefully, he will make more original concepts in his series and if he ever uses similar things to others, he will either Credit them or suffer again, like he did in the past.

The best thing about the Fist of the North Star sound effects at 26:44 is that they actually sound like noises Mario would make
It honestly sounds to me like he used sped up voice clips from the actual Mario games, because I think it hits a the ear a little different than Kenshiro's sound effects. Maybe he changed the pitch a little too.
I know, right?😄 They’re voices are even at the same pitch!
That took me awhile to figure out. The similarities between the battle cries. Since the pitches were near identical, took me some time before I realized it. Hadn't heard of Fist of the North Star until some time after this episode originally aired.

The scene in which Luigi jumps in to protect Mario as a "Go through me" moment already makes him a better character in this reboot than he was in the original. It's a really powerful moment as it shows Luigi will do anything to protect Mario, even at the cost of his own life. He's more than just comic relief here and I really appreciate that; hopefully we see more Luigi action later on.
It was such a wholesome moment but sad at the same time
After seeing episode 2 of the reboot, Luigi seems to have taken a form more akin to how he was in the original. Although his work against the Wario Bros. was admirable, he spent 90% of his screentime bumbling about.
And if the series continues we can see luigi’s true power versus king boo
Ngl my most favorite parts of the OG series were seeing the creative combo attacks that Luigi did with the others.
I think he's going to be more akin to Kid Gohan in a sense but less of a useless child and more of a silly guy who will have great heroic moments. Prolly more like Might Guy from Naruto now that I type this-

Audacity: Used to choose the audio voices of the characters and sound effects.
Paintshop pro 9: Used to create the scenarios.
Sony Vegas Pro 12: Used to edit the sprite animation.
Swift3D: Used to draw the 3D Models and make them move.
Swivel: Used to record the sprite animation in a better quality.
Postscript: I searched on internet what are those programs and their functions. After searching, I think this is how Mark Haynes did the episode.

There’s something so inspiring about seeing someone who had left a project after losing the magic and passion he began with to find himself regaining it years later and creating something even better than what he had started with. This is amazing. I loved the original series and I am ecstatic to see where you take it with these years of hindsight, experience, and improvement under your belt. It already looks amazing. I loved how much the characters remind me of Mario and Luigi. One of my favorite Mario games was “Bowser’s Inside Story” and the voice lines and references made me so happy. I know I’m super late to the party, but I’m glad I found this!

As a kid, I actually considered SMBZ as "next to official". Even now, it's the basis of the standard to which I hold sprite animations. So glad to see you're back.
Back in my day, us shitty edgelords who made animations used his series as like l, the pinnacle of animating and a level no one would ever reach it.

It's really series' like these that paint Bowser as a true villain that revels in his villainy and bad attitude, rather than the mean-spirited Peach fanboy that Nintendo often depicts him and it's amazing. From his visible hatred and desire to destroy Mario in these scenes to the fact of using Luigi as a target in order to exploit Mario's heroic nature and even having the backup plan Peach herself threatened to get an easy attack on Mario really shows this and I love it

2024. My 4 year old caught me watching it and wanted to watch. Wouldn't stop running around the living room while the fight scenes played out lol. Been keeping up with your work since I was a teen on newgrounds. Hey so I know I'm just some schmuck in a RUclips comment section but
I've been an avid fan of SMBZ, and your work in general, since 2006. Even when the original series was cancelled, even after your Patreon was shut down, even after years of inactivity, I've never forgotten about you or this wonderful series you've created. You've put so much of yourself into it. You've constructed a beautiful story that perfectly follows DBZ using Mario and Sonic parallels. Your depictions of the characters are so authentic and true that it really shows how thoroughly you understand them. Your amazingly animated fight scenes show just how brilliantly you can choreograph. The sheer amount of polish that you've put into this series, your attention to detail, your sprite edits, your custom sprites, everything shows just how amazing you are as an artist and as a person.
SMBZ helped me through a really rough time in my life, when I had lost a lot of family members, when I was going through high school, struggling with my grades, not knowing what I wanted to do with my life. SMBZ means more to me than I can convey in words. SMBZ helped me become the person I am today.
I wish I could find the right words to thank you.
But I want to make sure you're doing okay, too. Mental health issues are a fuckin pain in the ass, and I know how awful it can be to deal with depression. Not only do I want to support this series, but I want to support you as a content creator however I can.

I discovered this since 2009 but I forgot about it as I gave up searching a full 9th episode :( The series came back to my recommended and it reminded me on me playing on Newsgrounds 2009-2011
