Me and my buds used to hit the wedge every chance we could in the 80's, it was almost always deserted.
must have been some sweet memories ! I still find smaller days when no ones out but nothing over 3-4ft with a couple others out usually around fall when weird south windswells/energy kicks up

They don't give though man. They think they are entitled to all our hospitality but go to surf almost anywhere in Hawaii and they treat you like shit. Self entitled fuck heads in my opinion. Not saying JOB is but many are.

I get that but still Hawaii makes a majority of their money off tourism and in my experience surfing there I feel like many of the locals have a hatred within. I in return love when people visit my city and I try to show them a good time. Then again as long as they are respectful.

The name of the place is The Wedge and its in California.
+black raven TV just south of newport beach california at the jetty where newport harbour lets out north side of jetty. if u notice the jetty amplifies the waves by bouncing the previous wave back towards the waves incoming. been there more than a few times and on good days its so fun on big days it gets a bit sketchy.

everyone learns at there own pace, I know a lot of people who've surfed their entire life and still don't feel the need to go out
Do you think this is the most advanced riding?
yeah I've tweaked my neck multiple times, busted ankles and f'ed up my shoulder for a good couple months last year (think the shoulder was a fracture but never went to the doctor and just iced and healed it on my own), it almost always breaks in a couple feet of water which is where you need to know how to tuck and roll and where to and where not to be in less than a moments notice, further up the beach a couple miles is the Balboa pier which is still shore break and still dangerous but a much better place to step into a shore break style wave like this, in fact once i get a skimboard I'm going to be going there to get the hang of it since I've never had any practice
