Love your vids Nick, I love the variety of the gamefish...Shout out from Santa Rosa, I gotta get out on the delta more...But its hard to get away from clear lake....
I went jigging for stripers earlier today with the black laser minnow and didnt catch anything on it. The topwater spook was doing good though 7 keepers and 1 shaker
We tried to send Joey down to attach the larger ones but he said it was to cold ;) Aside from live bait, no not really, it's just about finding the right school in the east.
I hooked a keeper there 2days ago.. that thing had worms ..than I hooked two more keepers yesterday evening at eight mile road and they also had worms.. I was wondering if something is happening in the east delta with all the tunnels overflowing water .. same with the pan fish.. I haven't had a good fish in over a month.. all filled with worms.. this never happend to me through out 5 years of fishing this waters
Hey Nick, I live in Sacramento and was wondering where I could access this body of water. Would love to take my kids out soon since they are visiting from the East Coast.
You could launch out of a few areas like morelli park under i-5, Tiki Lagun, Ladd's, Buckley Cove, Louis Park, or Dos Reis. You gota check first (call in) to see if the launch is clear of hyacinth. Good luck.
Hey man I love your videos great information! My brother recently got a place right on the water past the isleton bridge and I keep my boat at the dock and needless to say ive been fishing hard out there as of late...I have fished rivers and lakes my entire life so im new to the tidal waters and delta fishing... anyways my question is when you are fishing the rio vista area with top water lures for these stripers how is it you go about deciding where you will fish? do you scout for marks on fish finder? structures? depth? Ive tried a few times with the top water stuff "whopper ploppers , sebile flat belly walkers etc" in low light conditions and late evenings and have had no luck... outside of some nice smallies ... Ive had some great success with live mudsuckers though ... any insight would be greatly appreciated man .. Keep killing it bro!
I am confused. Are these some type of fresh water hybrid stripers or just babies??? The people shouting out estimated lengths clearly confused centimeters with inches. lolrof. I would classify these as all under size babies. More fun on a panfish outfit. We call them "rats" this small up in NYC. Looks like a fun day though.
On the west we have giant schools of little stripers we refer to as schoolies. They are much better eating than our larger fish and a blast to catch. A 10lb fish over here is a trophy, in the upcoming episode we target our larger ones and catch a 19 and a 30lb.
what is a "keeper" size then ?? Here in NYC area a keeper is 28". The striper in picture is a a 34 pounder. I agree on taste and smaller size but here it is a no-no. Where exactlty are you? Not sure where west delta refers to.
Thanks for the tow!!
Lol anytime bro!

Hi Nick, thanks for the Vids! Lots of good Advice. I am wondering the Model # for that Andy Morgan Rod. Thx
Do you know any good striped bass lures? not to big but good casting distance?
Does the 3oz lazer minnows work just as effective as the 1oz and 2oz because I just picked up some 3oz from Dicks sporting goods

EastRiverRon "west delta" is the west side of the California delta. And Kepper here in California is 18 inches and above
