This has happened 3 times to my discovery sport after standing for 2 weeks while on holiday . First time I booked it into landrover which was going to cost me £500 just to look at it, luckily while driving to work and hitting a pot hole the heating started again , so cancelled the garage.. second time it happened I went over a bump in a car park and again it came back on . Today after arriving back from my holiday to find the heater had stopped I followed your video worked a treat thank you you have saved me looking for a pot hole or bump in the road .. I must add I have owned my car from new it’s now 8 and a half years old I love it even tho I’ve had a few things go wrong with it. It’s still one of the most comfortably and nicest cars to drive .
I changed the fuse without success and as a last resort thought I'd check RUclips. Thank you for such a simple fix. My wife's Evoque is used so infrequently now that she drives my electric car that I think the fan had just become stuck through lack of use. I know that if we had booked it in to Land Rover the bill would have been in the hundreds.
Just tried this after coming home from holiday and a/c not working. It is now! Brilliant and easy. I had the car booked into an auto electric garage. Saved a fortune. Thank-you.
My 2017 Evoque cabriolet blower suddenly stopped working recently, (think battery was on its way out) before contacting the local Jaguar Landrover garage I tried your suggestion and it worked, the fan is now working again. I would like to thank you for taking time to post your VT you have me a small fortune many thanks
You have heard the saying “ it is too good to be true,” this worked like a charm on my 2018 Evoque after being told by a mechanic that I would have to wait 2 weeks for him to have a look at it. It took longer to watch the video than fix the problem. Thank you so much. Sorted!
You Sir are a scholar and gentleman. I was convinced my Evoque would need a new heater motor or something similarly expensive. I followed your video and a quick two minutes later my fan was working again. God bless you and I can't thank you enough.
My car has been sat for 3 weeks while I was poorly, started the car low battery and blowers not working, took this advice and blowers started working straight away, thank you 🤩
This video was fantastic, blower stopped working this morning as I was coming back from Cornwall. That 7 hour trip was filled with horror thoughts about the repair bill and 1980s style air con of putting the window down ‘a bit’ when it got stuffy! Found this when I got back and all is working again and my wallet is still in tact! Thank you so much for posting this!
Absolutely spot on 👏👏 this worked with my 2017 Discovery Sport. I am sure it’s going to stop again. I have just had to spend over £2k on a Cam chain the cars only done 40,000 mile. Also £300 on rear tail lift strut. If it stops again am going to get rid of it and buy a KIA with 7 year warranty. 😂😂 Thanks agaon
Thanks for this tip. I tried a diagnostic scan with a cheap scanner called Anyscan A30M by Xtool. It showed no electrical fault codes so, although I didn’t believe this would work, it did and as others have said, it took about the same time as the 2 minute video. This and the other owner’s comments speaks volumes about the poor reliability of Range Rover.
Brilliant! Thanks. My fan had stopped working and initially I thought it was attributable to the interior becoming very damp; my Evoque suffers another prevalent problem that the front windscreen leaks! The inside of the car had become quite damp, and previously after some heavy rain, the LCD display panel clouded up. I put an electric heater in the car and ran it for a couple of days whilst it sat on the drive to "dry it out", which resolved the cloudy LCD panel. The fan had stopped working around the same time so I naturally linked its failure with the dampness. After thoroughly drying out the interior the fan was still inoperative. Having found your RUclips video it took just a few seconds to kick it back into life again. Well done that man👍👏 great info. No doubt in the fullness of time, I'll need to get the fan replaced, but first I'd better get that windscreen fixed to stop the rain getting in.
Thank you for posting this fix. I drove around with no heating for a fortnight waiting for the garage to contact me. Thank goodness I found this. Did exactly as shown and blowers now back on! I shall be getting rid of my R/R as soon as I can.
It's ridiculous for a supposedly premium car. There are two evoques in my family and this has happened on both. Quite dangerous too if it stops working when on the road and steams up losing visibility!
You star! So glad I found your video. Could not find an electrical fault anywhere. Tried poking the fan as per your instructions. Felt resistance. Then it starting turning freely. Heater blower working again now. Thanks!
Fantastic ! Thank you and so glad i watched this video. Saved me £110 + VAT for a Landrover diagnostic check alone. Maybe its a sign that i need to change my car soon though as i can imagine this would be very expensive to repair given its location 🤔
Life saver, I was just about to sell the Evoque after less than a week of ownership…. Fingers crossed now just need to sort the particle matter sensor engineer warning light on a 32k 68 plate if anyone can help 😢
thank you so much for this video , had no heating and we did this tonight and Voila it works , thank god as it takes of being foggy and cold tomorrow 👍
Thanks for this. Same issue here and quickly fixed thanks to your video. It’s -1C out at present so saved my wife a cold journey with steamed up windows in the morning! Just curious with others on here, how often does this problem tend to reoccur? Assume this is just a temporary fix? Thanks again
Thanks. Did you notice when you spin it the way you did it moves, but the other way there is slight resistance, almost magnetic. If you try and spin it opposite direction from what you did the blades almost spring back.
Thank you for this great fix. However, My 2016 Evoque looks a little different when I remove the protection box. So there is nowhere a ventilator motor to be found. Can that be because the wheel is at the right hand side?

Mine did it, then it started working again by itself. Now it's doing it again. Suggestions?

Hello, which car do you have ?
Does it work on Range Rover Evoque 2018 ? (no discovery)
Thanks

Tried everything and had resigned myself to be ripped off for repair. This worked perfectly. Top man, many thanks for sharing this fix👌
You're welcome!
Hi Sir! I did the exact same thing on my Evoque 2016. Saved me tons of Money from the Garage! Godbless your awesome Heart! 🙌
Cheers!
Glad to help

Glad it helped. It only seems to happen if the cars been stood for a few days or more in damp weather. J
Cheers mate worked a treat on my discovery sport 👍
No problem. Your first of the season...normally this issue is an autumn winter thing!

How often does your do it. Mine did it then it worked again. Now it stopped.
@@julianjarvis9113 it seems to do it in damp weather if the car hasn't been used for a few days.

Fantastic video. Just followed video instructions. I have now put my special cane in the boot if it happens again. Many many thanks
You're welcome!

I hadn't noticed that. Having had to do it again yesterday I'm sure it won't be too long before I need to do it again so will see then.
Thank you so much for sharing this simple fix.

Possibly bit I'd still expect to see a cover at the back of the engine bay. Ping a photo to Jamie @ jamie-west dot co dot uk
Hey Steven did you ever find the fan
