That's one of the most interesting JD/NO interviews. Thanks.

This feels like a confession by Bernard.
    So, well done by Dave.

I love listening to Bernard and all Joy Division musicians. It's a privilege to hear their take on their lives during Joy Division, New Order, Electronic and recent musical ventures. Cool cool people etched into my very being.
    Great interview. You're a lovely fella B

When Barney talks about not analysing the music he’s so right. All the great bands are spontaneous and natural in how they make music. Things just click with the right band members no matter what their technical ability or musical knowledge.

I love it when film makers get it right.

Whenever the surviving members talk about having to decipher the lyrics to "Ceremony", I picture one day, as their time finally comes, they arrive at the pearly gates, and Ian is there to greet them...only for him to say:
"YOU BLOODY IDIOTS! You got my lyrics COMPLETELY WRONG!! I was going through my absurdist period! It was OBVIOUSLY 'Avenues all lined with CHEESE!!' , and you RUINED it!"

Procession and a few verses of Ceremony. Infact Steve wrote the lyrics to Procession. In the beginning of New Order it was still undecided who was going to be the lead singer. So their first concert in the US at the Hurrah club in NYC (which was also where formally Joy Division was going to play) is where they messed around with the idea of different lead singers. You can also hear Steve sing on the Western Works demos. Probably a few other occasions in late 1980 early 1981 perhaps.

Why does he say he’s 28 when he’s around 51?

I guess he was thinking about the music he was making at age 28 vs 5 years earlier with JD.
