I can remember so we'll the cliffs of Dover when going across the channel on the ferry to Calais, that was in the 60's I've now lived in Italy for 56 years,but the white cliffs of Dover are England.Thanks alot.

Lol they are white because they're chalk. That's why the channel tunnel goes from Dover to France. The tunnel is built in chalk which automatically seals out water.
