Dr. Parsa Zadeh explains exactly the different types of bone grafts that can be used for dental implant surgery and why choosing the right bone graft type makes all the difference toward dental implant success. Dr. Parsa Zadeh answers a series of important dental implant questions like:
    -What Exactly is a Xenograft?
-What are the Different Bone Graft Types?
-What is the Best Bone Graft Material for Dental Implants?
-Why should you use Bovine Bone Graft for a Tooth Implant?
-What is the Best Bone Graft Material Combination for Dental Implant Surgery?
In this video, Dr. Parsa Zadeh explains that a xenograft is a bone from another species. The main types of xenograft bone graft material is either bovine, which is cow bone or equestrian, which is horse bone. Bio-OSS is the best bone graft material that uses bovine bone. With Bio-OSS bone, the body cannot remodel so it will in turn stay forever. In the beginning when it was recommended, there was thought to be the disadvantage that bovine would remain in the body years later. This became an advantage as it was able to help produce natural bone in between in. Ideally, the perfect combination for the best bone graft material would be to mix allograft with just enough of BIO-OSS xenograft, so you will be able to prevent losing mass of the bone. By using only allograft, the body will completely remodel which is why it is an imperative step to mix with the BiO-OSS xenograft with the allograft. In instances where space maintenance places more importance then put more BIO-OSS in the mixture. In the instance where you want to go back and place an implant in the area later, then put more allograft.

is think he’s saying that it doesn’t get absorbed

It does. Just like every other granular bone graft, it is eventually remodeled. No clue why he made that claim, it is incorrect.
