Wow!very valuable lesson here Doug..I always eyeballed things but these techniques obviously produce a much better and more accurate description until you get accomplished and can do it all freehand like yourself,I imagine repetition gets you there in the end!I will certainly have a go at this,the pin and thread method is brilliant..never seen that before..not sure where I would stick the pin if I was in a sauna though!😯😂Gorgeous colours in the final painting,really lovely!Thanks for sharing Doug..Happy New Year to you and yours!!🍻🥂❤️

I always find sticking a drawing pin in my leg when sketching outside painful and a bit messy, so I have taken to eyeballing perspective.
