THANK YOU for the Instax mini comparisons. Some reviews I read and watched implied the Go’s prints were pretty bad and I was hesitant on picking up the Go. They’re actually not that bad in comparison. My main purpose for buying is portability since I plan on taking this with me to work once we all go back to in-person working.

It is a lot smaller than the INSTAX cameras. Each of them has quite a unique look and it can be hard to get consistency out of any of them, but that's part of the fun! Otherwise, consider an instant printer.

Like always a very good review Gordon. I did preorder the Polaroid Go and up to now I only used two packs of film. The photo's are small but it's something different compared to Instax mini. Owning several instant cameras from Polaroid , Fujifilm, Lomography and the Leica Sofort it's a nice addition. I almost never shoot selfies but I also found that indoor selfies turn out rather dark. Outdoor in bright sunlight gives the typical current Polaroid look. I also like Instax (more reliable) in the different formats. It's good that we have a choice between the two companies with each a certain character.

Our family converted to instax printers for family gatherings... seems so gimmicky at first but proper fun nowadays. We just hook up all the camera via hdmi to the big screen go thru and select them and start printing and giving them off to the kids and whoever wants one. Ain't cheap but at least no waste of film taking it straight with the instax cameras.

I really liked the Kodak instant film, the negative and empty pod could be removed by peeling it off of the back of the print; that left a normal appearing photograph, without a blob on the bottom.

Oh man, I'm so jealous! My grandma had a Colorburst 100, and I used it as a prop for my Max Caulfield cosplay before I got a Polaroid 600, but sadly I can't use it as an actual camera because its unique film and battery are no longer in production :( I think I've seen a few photos from it, though, and I love how smooth the photos were, it was like the frame and the image were the same flat surface (and not an actual frame like the Polaroid and Instax film). Almost like a card.

Great review, thank you. I've just bought my Go 2 Gen, and overall is a cute little piece. The problem I've noticed is a recurrent white pin mark on the top left corner, exactly as the one on 5:13, top row 1st and 3rd shots from the left. Is that a problem of the film or the camera? In my case around 70% have it, and I've taken 35 photos. My camera is right out of the box, so I don't think it is related to dirt in the rollers. Hope you can clarify that question. Thanks again

I was just just wondering whether buying a polaroid go or an instax mini 11 when I saw your review.
Personally, I prefer photos taken with an instax mini 11. However, I heard that instax mini 11 can't really deal with very sunny days. On the other hand, I read that polaroid go neither can! So, in bright situations, what's the best one between these two cameras? Thank you a lot.

I hear this all the time regarding price differences. UK pricing is often higher than US beacuse of a number of reasons. First, UK price includes VAT at 20% versus the US price which hasn't had local sales tax added yet. Second, unless it's made in your country, it has to be imported, which means potential discount for larger numbers in bigger markets like the US, as well as exchange rates, and UK has been lower after Brexit vs many currencies.

No problem, they're definitely not for everyone, but they are amazingly popular, especially INSTAX.

The four examples shown are not worth a long wait for adequate developing. They look washed out and very soft. Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder but I cannot see what all the fuss is about. This system is clearly aiming for the nostalgic market. Poor optics and awful color density makes it a dud, certainly not worth $100.
