So I'm assuming that they're paired together so they have someone they can relate to and be close with since neither of them have friends
Yeah power and denji are really similiar in their situations. They both have to perfrom well or they will be killed and they have no future outside of the devil hunting job. Its no surprise they have similiar life styles and hit it off so well. Their pairing up HAS to be deliberite. Spoiler: It turns out to be deliberate anyway...
aki needs to see denjis powers so that as a leader, he knows what denji is capable of. also this job has a supper high mortality rate which is why aki gets mad at denji for not taking it seriously.
still heavily impressed with the animation for this show... I mean that scene makima feeding denji udon and makima fixing denji's tie... so much effort for something that's quite mundane. very excited to see the rest of this anime
