Put a tax on the tickets so those pin heads can pay for it and leave the rest of us in the county alone. I pay enough in this county and don't need to pay for this crap.

Look the Haslams own the team,he can do whatever he wants! we knew this day was coming so we have to figure this out on how to handle this, there was a reason Dewine showed up here and met with Goodell and ownership

Cleveland has a track record of taking their football teams for granted!

No, cleveland has a track record of having an owner who made bad business decisions and moved our team in the middle of the night. The people fund this owners ability to pay for another 2 franchises in other cities and other sports. We shouldn't have to fund their new stadium

Can America really not a build a stadium that can last at least 30 years anymore?

The only loser in a move to Brook Park is the City of Cleveland. Cuyahoga County will vote and pay for a new sin tax either way.

That’s true, but the city of Cleveland is the guiding light of Cuyahoga County. If it falls, a lot will follow.

The Mayor of Cleveland and there city council better get there act together or the Browns will be in Bookpark and Jimmy would own it all and the city will be SOL. LOL.
This situation is looking familiar 🤔 like 1995.

How much tax revenue does the browns create for the city. I have never heard any numbers on that. Also how much more would a dome create

The sin tax wasnt passed by or extended by the county, it went to the voters in 2015 to be extended and passed…

Leave them where they are at they need to remain on the lake shores plus they don't need a dome! Browns football should remain outdoors.

I think that the city benefits greatly by having a nfl franchise already, but I wouldn't expect anything unbiased coming from Jay.

  • @rickwaa2919

In 95 the fans put the entire blame on Art Modell , no one will talk about all the failed stadium funding elections. In fact, the voters did not pass it until after he announced the move to Baltimore. If they had just given Art the same crummy deal they give Al Lerner from the get go. No one wants to pay for a stadium, I get it but its a market and there is always a city or two waiting in the wings. Just ask St Louis how their grandstanding worked. Now will soon see how much Cleveland has really learned about all the events leading up to 95. Just think of the negotiations as a game of high stakes poker, the fans have a 2 and a 7 while the NFL owners have pocket aces and were going all-in.

      @crosstatt7441 6 месяцев назад

I’m a huge Browns fan and I hear you! Yes, Modell was at fault, possibly most of all. However, the city, county, and state governments were also at fault. Also, some of the same people who put that same blame only on Art, may do the same with Jimmy Haslam.

Political posturing with taglines bashing ownership is how the city of Cleveland lost the Browns the last time. City of Cleveland needs to work with Browns ownership to solve the problem, not go to war. Jay and others, please stop and think. How do you win by what you are saying and at what cost? If you are satisfied bashing the Haslams for moving out of downtown when you were part of the crowd that chased him out, then by all means keep doing what you're doing.

Here’s a solution. The city builds the Browns a new stadium in exchange for a 51% share of ownership of the team.
Sounds fair. Do t like it? They can move again or they can pay for their own stadium all by themselves. Oh, and the city will tax the heck out of any event at the stadium.

How can there possibly be 59 likes to this video when the owner of the Cleveland Browns sounds like he wants to pull the team out of Ohio for the second time in the team's existence? Can you imagine how furious the older Cleveland Browns fans will be if that happens? It'll be, as another commenter said, like 1995 all over again. One time was enough heartbreak for the city of Cleveland, and it's bad enough for the team as it is, since they never won a super bowl (as far as I know at least) and the entire sports world, and even more Ohioans are losing support for the Browns, and supporting the team next state over.

Way back in the day, the city played the slow game with Nick Mileti -- who wanted to build a downtown arena to replace the Cleveland Arena -- and The Coliseum was constructed in Richfield. Mileti then reportedly offered to sell the Arena to Cleveland State for a dollar (to become the home of CSU sports) and city politics forced the university to turn it down.
In the aftermath -- think of the public dollars required for the future construction of Gateway and CSU arenas.....thanks to the bullheaded career politicians of the early 1970s. And the political games which forced CSU to build what quickly became an inferior and red ink venue could be a series of reports.

The city has plenty of room on the west parking lot not being used plus the west dock . Next to the present stadium. Build it there while while the Browns play 2024 to 2028 in the present stadium . Its a win win. Situation. Jimmy gets a dome the city keeps the Browns on the lakefront where everything is happening. The city can help fund it. Jimmy pays the most.
