  • Doodle on a Motorcycle has built a fantastic RUclips channel detailing her motorcycle adventures and growth as a rider. We sat down with her and discussed how she got into riding, the challenges of being a growing and popular creator and where she'd like to see her channel go. What we weren't quite prepared for was just how charming she is. Time flew during our conversation that was filled with friendly banter and laughter. ‪@DoodleOnAMotorcycle‬

    I missed this episode when it dropped. I remember watching Doodle's first videos where she exposed her vulnerabilities about being a highly anxious person and going to therapy and now she is a confident and competent rider throwing herself at challenges. Very inspiring. And she did more U turns in a month than I will do in 10 lifetimes! I got dizzy just watching her.

    Good crossover video. I initially saw Carolyn during that early phase of "pretty girl on a motorcycle". I guess some people like that stuff but it's devoid of content, and so shallow it's boring. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed that she ditched all that. She still seems to be experimenting with formats and production. YT, with it's oddball changes, seems to mess with co tent creators too, so I know that's not easy. I've heard if canyon chasers but this is my first time here. I will happily check it out and, I promise not to stalk Dave, lol.

    If I may offer an unsolicited point of view regarding the 'you release your baby in the world and get a thousand views' mentioned in the beginning:
    when, during one of my shows, my band of friends filled a club with about 150 people - who then pulled a moshpit to one of our songs, I thought this was the highest of highs I'll ever reach making music.
    Point: reaching 1000 people may seem low only in comparison to some other videos, but reaching a full one thousand people, who want to hear what you have to say from beginning to the end - is a huge accomplishment, in my opinion - and is worth celebrating 😊

    • @CanyonChasers
      @CanyonChasers  Год назад +3

      You are so exactly right! For those of us who put ourselves out there, we really shouldn't get caught up in the numbers - thats where we lose sight of what we probably set out to do. We do this because we want to connect with others, right. 10 or 10,000 - every one of those connections matter. You know?

      What worth are millions of views, if 99% are from people who are simply playing a video game simultaneously, or killing time because they can't sleep - or watching it because its "bikes go brrmmmm"?
      IMO - its the audience quality that matters far more than the sheer numbers, and I believe your content is of such high quality that it attracted top quality audience 👍

    There needs to be a space online for riders of all skill levels and genre/interests. There's some big holes in it, but I do think in the recent decade there's been a lot more personalities taking on the challenge of doing content full time, featuring whatever aspects of motorcycling that occupies people. At first, you may not get much interest or views, but there should be pioneers too, that introduce an audience to possibilities they weren't aware of.

I'll actually be on tv coming up. "Late night show" i would highly suggest that she get into firearms for safety. Being in the public eye is scary. In America we can defend ourselves and carry. She should carry. You just never know with nuts out there. Id be stressing if i were her husband when she travels. I try to label all my clips every night after a shoot, and if it's really too busy or too much work, I'll have someone on set whose whole job is ingesting and labeling them. No idea how you guys do it on your own.

The worst ones are where it's just one person's content on their channel and the other person's content on the other channel. Why collab for that? The best are when you feel like you know what you're gonna get if you start watching the other channel. I watch both of your channels, so I'd like to see you collaborate.

      Data! Don't drink and ride. That reduces your risk by about 40%. Get trained. 36% of accidents involve untrained riders. Learn how to and employ trail braking. Running wide in corners is the leading cause of single-vehicle accidents. Always cover the front brake - thats the second leading factor in motorcycle crashes. It's all about reducing risk.

    • @BlindIo42
      @BlindIo42 Год назад +1

      That's a hard one, their concern is both rooted in the evidence of you being more vulnerable on a bike than in a steel safety cell full of airbags and the fear of something happening. I'd suggest acknowledging that what you're doing does carry risk, this shows that you are aware of the risks and don't have your head in the sand. Then talk about statistics that matter - like most rider crashes are riders with little or no formal training. Talk to them about your training and experience. Let your partner know where the risks are and how you manage them, and maybe spend some time talking about modern safety gear technology and make sure you have the latest equipment (consider an airbag vest or jacket).
