When they try to kill EVERYTHING with it, yeah it's boring to play with them, but you can meet some javelin players who don't try to solo the map and focus on elites/specials with some use during the horde if they can aim a good strike. It depend the player, it's not something you can see only with the elf even if the javelin with unlimited ammo help to see this type of players.
Finally someone using the invis ability well. In this case to avoid unnecassary fights. Or just generally using potions to advance quicker.

I honestly hate playing with javelin elf, because she kills everything, and you just boringly walking around until the horde or a monster comes in

Well for my 3 month of playing and seeing tons of jav elfs, i aint seen a single one yet, that dont tries to get EVERY mob
