Selling a character who's never appeared yet in-story is always going to be difficult because we don't have any concept of their personality, meaning all they have to sell on is their aesthetics. That's a very difficult order, and is likely why certain characters like Ratio and Huohuo had to little initial hype behind them. Andrew Russell's streaming shenanigans help fill in for some of that personality void, because he himself is "representing" Boothill. And from his streaming persona, and enthusiasm we can tell that Boothill is going to be a fun character, if only because he seems to radiate so much pride in the work he put in voicing him.
They should allow Boothill, Aventurine and Herta to curse. These 3 have some lines that 100% would've been better if they were just allowed to say fuck.
This makes me really notice that his job really is pure art coz when you're an artist you're proud of the end result but you're SOOO embarrassed once it comes out hahaha It gets worse when you receive praise 😭😭
