I found a little league team photo in my moms basement from 1989. In the background it was cool to see all the cars from the early to late 70s parked on the road.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I have lived here 40 years and it was so reminiscent to see the video and I really appreciate it so much. Like going back on a time machine :) Do you have anymore videos like this?
I love watching video's like this it's so awesome knowing like wow that was awhile ago and so nostalgic even though I wasn't even alive for another 18 years !
Very cool! I work at All American Rental. We're in the building you're facing when you say something like " better get outta my way mister! " lol. Amazing how much has changed in 25 years!
A lot of things have changed since then. Almost everything around the highway intersection is new. I used to go into that Wal-Mart and the old O'rielly's. I almost forgot they used to be where they were back then. Thanks for posting this. Pretty neat to see how much it's changed.
If I were the driver in this video, I would be turning right at the US 65 onramp toward Branson, then get off at Highway 76 and head down “the strip” to White Water! Which is what I actually did on July 13, 2019.
Dash cam drives like this from 1989 would probably go perfect with the song Style by Taylor Swifts 1989 album lol!! That song would definitely go well with a late night drive or a drive in 1989 lol!
It is a VW Beetle. They had a rear mounted engine back then and there were some automatic ones then, however they were only on the higher trim models. The way the engine revs up when he drives sounds like a manual transmission. They were noisy cars though. I saw a 1989 Oldsmobile Delta Eighty Eight, great cars though mine was a 1987 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency Brougham. Great car lasted past 400,000 miles without any work needed. You won’t get that on a 2022 car.
Yeah it was a blue bug he also had a Yellow convertible one! Bruce man was cool school I live up the road he would take us cruisen on the square an stuff we was Like 14 an 15
Yes there were Wal Marts then. Just watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation which is from 1989 has walmart in one scene where Clark crashes in his toboggan sled.
Why can’t people just make old cars, but make them electric so you can use the rest of the space for crumple zones and other safety features, why do we have to have 3 ton doorstops instead
Love seeing all those old cars and pickups. This was recorded on June 16, 1989.
Friday night!

Walmart in 1989!?
They hadn't even put the local grocery stores out of business yet!

Well, this is right near Arkansas, where Walmart started.
@@davidfreesefan23 ok I was just a toddler in 89. I remember the first one in '95. Before that we had Caldor.
