Ageless sound! Still listening in 2024. Who’s with me?
Me here, got half my music taste from my mom.
I still listen to my CD’s y’all, I know good music and they aren’t producing much of it today.
Omg, same! I love my cds so much, and me and parents listen to this one all the time! This is one my favorite songs from it! :D
The synthesizer took over
I have this album on vinyl
@@shaybapple That’s because you have great taste.
When every, single song was a hit, wth is wrong with this picture!!!! Love you guys, always will!!! 🥰😍🤩
Back in the day I remember how I love that solo, specially the last part, the chromatic lick.
Saw them in concert three times (Caracas, Houston, Lima). They are beyond amazing!!!
Twice for me. California and Tokyo.
Once in June of ‘14 in Scottsdale, AZ: best concert of my life…
Colour me any colour.
Speak to me in tongues and share.
Tell me how you'd love to hate me.
Tell me how you'd love to care.
Well, I just want to shake us up.
Let's mingle
And make it well.
We'll come together now.
Yeah, let's gel.
Clothe me in any fashion.
Glitter to so mundane.
Tell me how you'd love to change me.
Tell me I can stay the same.
I just want to shake us up.
Well, let's bungle
And live to tell
How we came together.
Yeah, how we gelled.
Saw them live at Golden Nugget in Lake Charles LA
VIP passes meet and greet with pictures, super cool guys and awesome live
Let's all put CS at the top of the charts again... share, share their songs!!!
Some of the best moments of my life happened with this song playing in the background...😏
Fuckin bad ass song to the bone. Damn talented
I use to play this song on my electric guitar when i was at high school in school band...😁😁 👍👍
I love the attitude of the solo....cuts right to the point!
Yeah i walk upon high, and i step to the edge to see my world below
that song still a jam 27 years after it's release .
So Good ! Dude were the 90's such a good era !
First listen this song in 1996, stil listening til now 2021 etc, 👏🏽👏🏽👍🏽
When I was a junior in high school (Outside of Dallas about an hour) I had a 1998 Z28 with a system. And I would rock this shit so loud at Sonic getting me a Dr. Pepper Flurry. The good ole days!
IMHO Collective Soul really was heads above the rest of the Nineties, it really was a pisser how Atlantic Records didnt do squat in Promoting 2000s Blender, Again IMHO The band was the most consistent in quality of music from their first album onward to Youth. Hey Fellow Collective Soulites! Its time to get these guys into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh they are legendary ! They are really underrated !
There are a bunch in the 90s. Standards were falling badly, and Grunge came out of that. CS and Matthew Sweet are excellent good examples
I completely agree. Ross Childres creative riffs are out of this world. I saw them in a small club in South Bend, Indiana in the mid 90's. Their opening act was an at the time one hit wonder Oleander. About half way through Oleander's set they broke into the opening strains of Sweet Home Alabama. Then immediately stopped and said, "Nah, we ain't gonna play that shit " I thought people were gonna storm the stage. They finished their set and got off the stage. Thank god, the arrogant pricks. Anyway CS takes the stage and after about 3 songs they break out Ozzy's Crazy Train and killed it. I had never heard of them covering anybody's songs before (they don't need to) so I figured that was their way of telling the cats in Oleander that you don't mess with your audience like that.
As much as I do love Collective Soul, the major bands of the 90's simply smoked them lyrically. Collective Soul had amazing guitar and some awesome song structure, but really didn't match up against Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins and Stone Temple Pilots. Trust me when I say Collective Soul was never for one moment off of my radar as well as other amazing bands that got 2nd rate plays such as Candlebox, Live, Cracker, Mazzy Star, and most of all Tool. And those bands are all mind blowing. There was just too much good going on for everyone to get their fair share of spins. Let's not forget Metallica had their black album out as well as albums by Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton's Unplugged, Aerosmith, Greenday, Guns & Roses and and many more. Dr. Dre's Chronic album and 36 chambers, 2Pac and B.I.G. Those 10 years had so many amazing albums it's truly mind boggling. But without doubt Collective Soul was there and highly regarded by those who heard it. And I agree 100% they do deserve to be in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
I always say they are the greatest underrated group from the 90s
When I seen Van Halen back in the 90's in concert this album came out collective soul opened for them I thought they were pretty good back then they are still rocking today 😀
For someone who graduated high school in 1996, i absolutely wore this album out and still love it today. It's just a shame CS will never be the same without Shane and Ross... When they left the hits went with them
I disagree, they've had hits from every single album since then. Ed's the true genius behind this band.
@@RobinShafer-po1gu I certainly don't doubt Ed's talent or song writing abilities, my point is the only CS music that actually gets airplay, especially since the early 2000s is the CS era with Ross. You'll hear "shine" and "December" or "where the river flows" but new music? Nada
declaration, run, heavy either lol@@T.Sullivan79
I LOVE THIS SONG!
One of the best sounding bands live!! In an open field no less
I remember the music video to this back in the day with a very young Amy Smart: hot!
(Also, this is my favorite song next to “Heavy” and “December” by these legendary ass-kickers!)
When they opened for Creed, I remember thinking "Are you kidding me?!? It should be the other way around". They shouldve been the headliner.
Hands down the best rock band to come out of the 90's
Gel becomes LIQUID with all the heat it generates
So good!
Song rocks !
Hell yeah. Why is collective soul so underrated?
Probably the most consistent band of the 90s
One hit wonder that fur sure
@@bjohnson1489 whom are you kidding? If you think that CS was a OHW then you dont know CS. This ain't even their biggest hit. Maybe try some research before commenting stupidity...
@@bjohnson1489 one hot wonder? In what way ? now i only really know 4 of their songs shine, gel, december and the world i know and they are all masterpieces
Underrated band!
@@derekwilhelm1555If you haven’t heard “heavy” and “where the river flows” then you better check those out too :)
Good tune.😉
That Mission, Accomplished ☺️ What's next for me Oh beautiful One. Sending Love and thanks in advance of it Dear beloved Creation maker of all that is was and ever will be.
I will never forget the time I was tripping out on mushrooms listening to this.
Awesome song from my youth....still listening to baby!
CS never die....👍👍
Salah satu lagu favorite saya ditahun 90's
How did this not have an official music video?!?!
They did have - ruclips.net/video/rwrazYUwqQI/видео.html but decided to remove it as it's not representing their values...
@abelm3972 dang OK I never realized this. Thank you!! They need to remaster that video and we're good to go! Their song Gel was too good not to be a single IMO. But then again, almost every track on that album couldve been a single. It was that good of a CD.
music is awesome, guys rock, lets gel..
Thanks guys this is good song one of my favorites
Saw them in Concord CT in Sept/19
in a theatre. Just an awesome show. Crowd could have been more enthusiastic. These guys know how to put on a show and it was one I’ll never forget.

💯 2020 great song
These guys didn't invent the "Elvis Laugh", but they sure made it a memorable part of this song....
They used to play this at the skating rink when you were allowed to go as fast as you wanted for a few laps.
Underrated.
I seen these guys At the Madera Fare I think 95 or 96 for free. It was awesome 😁
