    I love the technology of the new SRAM Red Etap AXS and I would definitely buy it if I was racing, but I love the simplicity of cables for every day use. Not sure if I’ll ever go electronic, but it’s good to see the tech. Hopefully the Rival group will be super high end mechanical

    So SRAM want us to stay on the big ring more because it’s more efficient, yet both the cassette cigs and the chainrings are smaller which is less efficient....fuzzy logic?

  • @hogdog567
    @hogdog567 5 лет назад +6

    Not sure why they didn't go for a 10-36 cassette to make 1x viable. If they paired that with a 46 tooth chainring it would replicate the gear range of a mid compact (11-28, 36/50) groupset. As it is it's frustratingly 'not quite there yet'. Hopefully a 'WiFli', medium cage derailleur and 10-36 cassette is on it's way.

    Replace the powermeter with chainrings hilarious

  • @stuartdryer1352

    As someone else noted elsewhere, when the cranks finally need replacing you need to buy a new power meter also.

      Force 1, Rival 1, Apex 1. Been around since 2015. UCI pro team Aqua Blue Sport even used Sram Force 1 for their 2018 season. Do you perhaps live under a rock?

    Great presentation lads, but I gulped at the price. It’s age old, half the tech stayed the same. But the price is why there is no SRAM domination. Such a shame.

    Very disappointed with SRAM new range of cassettes.... the trend is for bigger rear cogs among pro's and amateurs....How about a 12-13-14-15-16-17-19-21-23-25-28-32 paired with 36x52 chain rings??????

    Have they fixed the problem with the battery retention tabs breaking off?
    I have the 11 speed etap and both batteries have failed and from what I know the tabs are a weakness. A drop of super glue fixes the problem but it would be nice to know if the issue has been rectified..

    Does the battery on the front mech have more clearance when running 33-40mm tires?

      according to cycling tips, it has 6 mm more clearance and would suite up to 40 mm tires

    So I don’t get it, wheres the efficiency? I have 11,12,13,14,15,17... 28. With a 36-52.
    How’s the 48/11 or 48/12 or 48/15 supposed to make me faster than the 52/12 or 52/14, 52/15?
    The only change you’ll see is when you shift into the 48/10 which they claim is similar to a 53/11 other than that theoretically if you shift 48/11 you’ll be much slower than if you’re running a 52/12 is that correct???
    OR is the diameter of the cassette smaller than a standard Shimano 11-28?
    Where’s the efficiency? I’m confused 🤷‍♂️

    I heard that SRAM can't have automatic front derailleur trimming, because it's patented by Shimano. Troll patent, but does it affecf the smoothness of the syncro shift in eTap ?

  • @atiroocky
    @atiroocky 5 лет назад +2

    Yes synchro shift ! But wait… aAl this groupset is a piece of shit. Nothing is upgradable or replacable, you have to buy all stuff from Sram, new BB, new hub, new chain, can't change chainring (oval users ????), can't use other cassette range. That's an APPLE marketting in due form ! Don't need 2x12 when you already have 2x11.
    I thing the first eTap is a best value than this, and maybe quarter the price in few weeks !

    Really poor show lads. Not one criticism?? How much did Sram pay for this 20min add??
    Can I slip the new 12 speed onto my existing 11 speed hub?? ummmm no. Buy a new weelset please (because Sram engineers couldn't "just" add an extra gear??), thanks for mentioning the need to use the XDR rear hub. You think some of us are so dumb to believe the stupid comment "Campagnolo added an extra gear but didn't change a lot" WTF?? fools!!!. But hey at least you don't need a completely different hub format to upgrade to the "just an extra cog" Italian brand. Campy 12 speed doesn't require any batteries or massive Frankenstein hands to to operate it either. I wonder how much extra Sram paid you guys to take a dig at Campagnolo. For the record (excuse the pun) by far still have the upper hand in 12 speed road components.
    It's a game changer alright, just not in the way you lads try and sell it.
    What a huge expensive piece of junk Sram Red Ecrap is.

    Disappointing. SRAM really had a chance to do some damage and they come out with a meaningless groupo after what, six years??? Who cares about a big bunch sprint and the range of a 48x10? The average rider doesn't EVER need a 50-11. They haven't even created the option for those of us riding gravel that would like a 2x option. SRAM suck your DUB bottom bracket and your half baked product release!
