Just the annoyance of turning on a Wii mote to enter the game every time. Not being able to navigate the Wii menu with a GameCube controller was a travesty
@@luckyclover5264 Just mod the Wii for the homebrew channel and install Priiloader. When both have been attended to, all you have to do is hold Reset when booting up the Wii to bring up the Priiloader menu. Unlike the Wii Menu, the Priiloader and HBC menus can be navigated with a GameCube pad. Besides, I prefer the Wii over a GameCube because of the following: 1. Component, VGA and HDMI video options are far cheaper on the Wii. 2. Select Wii games can be played with a Nintendo GameCube controller, like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, James Bond: GoldenEye and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core. However, some Classic Controller games like Call of Duty MW3 and Xenoblade Chronicles don't work with the GameCube controller. 3. Homebrew is a lot easier to set up due to the Wii having a built-in SD card slot and having a message board exploit on the Wii Menu, as well as having built-in system memory. 4. The hardware is more powerful, allowing SNES, PlayStation and N64 games to run better than their GameCube counterparts.
Well unmodded the Wii runs with the same frame rate also if you have a GameCube with the digital out you will get a much better image. Honestly GameCube is the better route. Looks better.
I've never had a gamecube, I ran it on an emulator a while back but for some reason theres just this attraction I have to it, like its literally top 5 consoles even tho I never saw one in person
I can't say the Gamecube controller is perfect (small dpad, some complain about the z button and the c stick), but it is to me the single most comfortable controller I've ever held. I feel that gamecube games were perfectly designed around this controller. The wavebird is a watershed moment. It might not have been the first wireless controller, but it was the first truly good wireless controller.
When I first came to Raleigh NC in 2016 had GameCube the purple one with Mario kart double dash Pokemon channel Zelda collection soulcalbur 2 with link in it and NFL blitz pro NBA cortsode 2002 made by Nintendo I miss it😞 can't wait to get one again asap and rock on again with the big N😎👍💯
gamecube was my fav console i bought a 2nd gamecube and 4 controllers incase the one i had originally broke. still have it all in boxs. that being said, my nintendo wii is far better, have it chipped can play all the gamecube, super nes and wii all off a hard drive and the gamecube controllers can plug into it. i recently wanted to play my N64, have an everdrive x7, sadly the tv's i have make it look trash, unplayable. seen theres ultrahdmi mod but i have a family these days and that kinda money i just cant justify.
I have never played on a game cube I would sometimes play on my older sister’s DS LITE but that was it tbh my dad says he had a GameCube and weridly enough I have the disc of the need for speed carbon he played on his game cube 👀
I'd say the GameCube is great for its exclusives and (somewhat) better versions of multiplatform games. If you don't want to mod a Wii or use up too many AA batteries, just stick with a GameCube. However, you won't be able to play Wii games that allow the use of a GameCube controller; in fact, you're missing out on the Wii's library that way. On the flipside, Game Boy and Game Boy Color games can be played legally via Game Boy Player. Otherwise, you'll have to rely on a game-based save exploit, Swiss, an SD Gecko, SD Card, Visual Boy Advance GX and some GB/GBC roms, which I think is absurd. Not to mention 31khz video options are far more expensive on GameCube than on Wii, so if you want to play GameCube games in 480p via Component, VGA or HDMI without breaking the bank, it's better to get a Wii. Not to mention the GameCube has Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut, Crazy Taxi, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Castle Shikigami 2, Ikaruga, Chaos Field Expanded, Radirgy, Resident Evil Code Veronica X, 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker, Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II, Puyo Pop Fever, Skies of Arcadia Legends, and even Evolution Worlds. The latter two are great RPGs worth playing on the GameCube.
Short answer, no, again keep is not worth it in 2023 because it is the hottest retro Nintendo game system right now, so it’s a little bit over priced in my opinion, absolutely great games, but over priced, If you do get a game, cube, the games you should get in my opinion Super Mario sunshine Legend of Zelda wind waker Metroid prime Pikmin 3/4 are on switch, but the originals are still awesome
What about these? Crazy Taxi Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut Skies of Arcadia Legends Capcom vs. SNK 2 If you have an SD Gecko and an SD Card running Swiss, you can consider getting one of the following: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess F-ZERO GX Splinter Cell 007: Agent Under Fire The latter four games have save exploits running homebrew that's on your GameCube memory card. I recommend the 251 or 1019 since Swiss fits these memory cards, but not the 59.
Yes the gamecube is Great but the prices Are insane. I think no Game (new or Retro) is worth than 100$. Today with all the Limited Run and strictly Limited Games the prices Are insane. Game Collecting today is… hey I have the Game give me 200 Bucks and it’s yours… it’s Not from Gamer to Gamer it’s from Scamer to Gamer ….
Honest question, other than the GBA Player, is there a reason to get a Gamecube over a first gen Wii since it’s backwards compatible?

That's a fair point. You could use the GC controller on there as well. For me, it's more nostalgia

Agreed! The controller definitely took me a bit to get used to as a kid, but now I love going back to it when I get the chance 😆
THPS was a mess on gamecube
Nintendo GameCube may not have been as good as PlayStation 2 but if you have friends in the family you won't regret buying one

Games are outrageous now
100% agree, I want to go back and play all the old need for speed games and the F1 games too
Top 3 for me would be Luigi’s mansion, wind walker, and super Mario sunshine
Definitely the vital treo for this console..good shout 👌
