The last new car I bought was a 2016 Hyundai Sonata at 23,000. Because of its high theft profile, I wanted to replace it with a 2024 Honda Accord hybrid. But with an MSRP of 34,000 and the dealer trying to stick on an extra $2,000 in profit. That was not acceptable. So I bought a used 2020 Honda Accord hybrid for 19k. And I am happy. Went from 33 mi to gallon to 51 mi a gallon᜵, with my used Accord.
That trio of orange cars definitely looks good!
Any Nissan with a CVT (such as the Kicks) is a deal killer!
Comparing to all the international car shows outside U.S., this is still ICE centric traditional cars. The elephant in the room is no Chinese EV.
Let’s keep CCP cars out of America.
Good observation: Techno anachronism on full display. Thus, this show has no value for me. I'm waiting on the Tesla compact EV due late 2025/early 2026. IMHO, this car will be a game changer in terms of technology and price for the first truly mass-produced EV. Estimated price is a nicely equipped EV around 25K.
Just watched the Bangkok auto show online then watched the NYC auto show, it is pretty sad nowadays that less and less and less cars are showing up in the US autoshows. I guess this is what Americans want, so be it, lol.......
@@erictheblue7256But the first year's production will be the $50,000 version. Later, they'll offer a lower trim for $35,000.
Don’t want EV’s or Cheap CCP EV’s either
I watch car show video that was shot during press days, and think it would be fun to go. Then I go during general admission, and it is a mad house.
Nice job noting the cars on display painted in an actual color. So sick of all the white/black/gray vehicles these days.
Those brighter colors will either be an extra cost option, or you’ll only see them on the cheapest or most expensive trims, or they’ll only build 12 of them.
I know. I feel like we are in the former Soviet Union with the 18 variations of gray and silver.
I like boring colors in Canada white is the safest color at night unless it's winter then it's scary 😨
Black, white grey are colors and designers use them for neutrality.
Blame consumers theirs a reason only those colors are overused
I want to see more cars. Focus on the cars not on the people.
There are other videos from this car show. No need to limit yourself to watching only this channel.
Google Honda recalls--I can't get into a dealer before July---18 Clarity-fuel pump, airbag, air compressor, seat harness, screen update, battery cell check
I love Jen! Everything just flows with her!
😂😂😂😂
Loved the excitement Jen et al. brought to this episode. 👍🏿
Love it when you come to us LIVE from these auto shows. Thank you for your hard work and dedication, please don’t stop!!!
I love the gray body with the red roof and side mirrors on the Nissan Kicks. I hope that is a production option. In general, I was able to attend the NY Auto Show once several years ago. It was amazing. At that time it covered something like four floors of the Jacob Javits Center. If you get the chance, definitely attend.
We will have to wait and see. I loved the tomato red of the newly designed Versa during the 2022 or 2023 show, but they did not offer it in production in the bright red color. However, they have an X-Play Kicks limited run in Brazil with a red roof and black body and lots of red touches, so maybe the color option shown here will be available. Nissan always has attractive colors.
Motormouth citing at 17:39 😄
The prologue will die because the GM Honda partnership is already being dissolved
You're talking about the K4, yet you're showing the K5 🤨
I had to rewind that portion to double check if I miss heard them
That's because the K4 is ugly
They did show the new K4. Pay attention, the Forte now looks like a mini K5.
Pretty nice high level overview not only the car itself but also the economy and industry
Thanks
Great video
And speaking of colors...I think the Honda CRV and Ridgeline look great in Radiant Red. Manufacturers need to brighten up their SUVs a bit. I would like to see all pickups offered in flashy colors...Ferrari Red, Yellow, Orange and Plum as well as the standard, boring offerings.
Automakers claim that white gray black etc are the most popular colors, but if that’s all they make then it’s a foregone conclusion!
@@SashazurMost do offer a range of colors. Even Tesla’s offering around six unique colors on the new model 3. Ironically, white is not a base color but instead a pricey option.
The VW Microbus has been on sale in Europe for some time, so it's for real. Just not here yet.
At 3:44 in, you're talking about the new Kia K4 (replacement for Forte), but your video is showing the Kia K5 (not new, & which replaced the Optima).
Sure, many manufacturers have made many safety features standard but before we start praising ourselves, understand they've also raised prices.
Automakers aren't there yet, they still think 'affordability' means 120 month payments
Uh, nice mention of the Kia K4. Unfortunately, you SHOWED the K5!
Where is Alex??
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video I have a regular subscription to consumers report hard copy but received the annual auto edition hardcopy which I read throughout if I'm in the financial situation to buy a new vehicle
I agree about the Prologue, why would i pay a higher cost when they share equipment, materials with Chevy. Id buy the Chevy instead.
Imagine cleaning that Camry grill…
Any updates on the Rav4 2025?
The Kia made me think of the 1964 Plymouth Barracuda.
They do copy!
Here in Canada we have strict crash standards and regulations with the ministry of transportation so what is seen at the NYC auto show has to bypass the motor authorities here greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
I need to hear less than half of what they have to say. I want to see the cars!
Just go to the main CR auto site--they have dedicated video clips on several cars that they mentioned in this overview.
Where’s Alex?
Too much showing of 3 people and not enough cars. Fail!
How long do you think sub compact vehicles will last in any metropolitan areas in the country!? Oh and does the public know how easy it is to blow a turbo if you don't maintain them? Does the public know how much extra they'll have to pay for regular maintenance on four cylinder turbo powered vehicles?
So there is really something wrong with looking at 3 commentators for 18 minutes instead of a continuous feed of the cars on display. It is the NY Auto Show isn’t it. They may as well have been standing in a studio with intermittent stock photos. Just a consumer reporting on the quality of this video. If you will excuse the pun.
Blooper!!!! That's not the Kia K4!!!!
"yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah"
No new Odyssey?
Great discussion. Where was Mazda?
Too bad you showed the K5 instead of the K4
Nice video! You guys seem pumped about all the new cars.
Nice to see that affordability is the theme. Local Chevy dealer has the Chevy Trax and has 18 of them. They are not selling as they are listed online about $3000 under MSRP, starting at $21,000. The auto show is a shadow of what it used to be. I went for a number of years and now they only have an electric car loop in the bottom floor where they show off their electric cars only the wealthy want to buy, and then outside they have a Ford offroad trail and the Toyota ride. No Jeep ride outside this year - Ford took its place. Honda's EV is misreported here. The Ulitimum platform is only the battery (outsourced) and the GM electric motors (also outsourced). Everything else is Honda and the two GM components are literally hardware - which has not been their problem.
Or people realizing they don't want to pay for features they won't use.
There’s more affordable cars at the car show than on dealers lots.
And any affordable vehicles on the lot have huge markups over MSRP.
7:22 A Honda made by GM, will probably go over like the Hornet’s going for Dodge.
How is this different from the 2001 New York Auto Show again?😢 Oh I forgot. Same cars cost double now.
👍
A video about the NYC car show that focuses on 3 people talking and not showing the cars......Hard pass!
All the company don’t care about electricity for 2024 pistons all the way
Call Quincy "Mike" and Crossen "Michael"
Honda can’t do worse than Toyota’s original BZ4X, it had problems keeping its wheel on, they still have a reliable reputation, once upon a time their Pick Up Trucks had a frame rusting problem, popularity of Tacomas, Tundras, and Sequoias has not diminished, judging by my covid era 2022 Highlander Platinum assembly lack of quality, they clearly are not (yet) concerned about their reputation.
13:34 Not all disabilities are seen equally. Sorry but it's true 🤷♂️
Perfect example April 2nd
Being the victim of a Honda V6 with cylinder management, Honda reliability is Trash.
If Subaru wants to connect with the outdoor lifestyle, it would offer Hybrid vehicles. Actions speak louder than talk and marketing gimmicks. Shame on Subaru for not doing something for the environment when they push this in their marketing campaigns
They have a hybrid, the Crosstrek
😂😂😂 would you even afford anything with biden destruction of economy
The plastic cladding is not good for the whales?
Ig Subaru ever want me to buy one, they need to not design their car to looks like for old people
The Crosstrek hybrid has been discontinued
7:30 Honda is now pushing forward with EVs. They just sent out notices to Canadian dealers that their profits margins would be cut by 40% for the EV push. US dealership are next.
And still no one wants them.
You should have a booth! I’d love to talk with you!
Nothing about lexus. Whats up.
Gm honda collab thats a big no
Will the average Honda buyer know they're buying a GM? Other than car enthusiasts who watch these shows, probably not.
They'll just assume that it's a Honda, and if Honda stands behind it, that's all they need.
What happen to the idea of conservation ? Every year more and bigger dumb trucks. More SUV's for people who never need it. Only in America.
Nice job avoiding the forbidden term ‘EV’ in the something for everyone intro.
I was at a local Chevrolet dealer recently looking for some hard to get parts for my beater Chevrolet. I saw a Blazer EV on display, I asked a salesman if they have EV charging stations at the dealership. He told me they have only one, and it’s usually out of order. EV buyers beware.
News flash! The Nissan Kicks is front and center, because it’s new and Nissan has nothing else to show for themselves! Duh…
Too many signs of economic and market collapse
They're doing their best to prop it up until mid-November
Yeap. The party is over.
🤡🤡 oh, ok big boy! Things must be rough managing the lunch rush at the Subway in the middle of Alabama. 😂
You mean the Fordster, not Forester. 😂
The front of the Camry is horrid, guess Toyota gave it the Lexus makeover. Amazing the same company can come up with the new Corolla and Prius, good looking budget cars, they do that to the Camry.
Formula E? 😂
Camry, ugly is an understatement
Omg the amount of vanilla from these presenters , I fell asleep 5 times watching this
Too much talk and not enough cars.
Screw all those 'safety' features. I'll gladly do without most all of them. I know how to drive a car. Most people no longer know how to drive or want to. This country needs to require drivers to take extensive driving tests rather than making it easy to drive not paying attention as these 'safety' features now allow. Consumer Reports has it all wrong, going with the idiot's flow.
Sorry guys, that new Camry like many others has a face only a mother can love.
Why they can’t have a normal bumper instead of a wide open mouth is beyond me.
Unfortunately, Lexus takes that even to a farther extreme,
If Toyota had more conservatives styling, they could up their sales by a third overnight.
落后,污染严重
Too much non-car talk. Not enough cars shown.
For the life of me, I don't know what Honda was thinking when they decided to jump in the sleeping bag with GM. I hope they don't regret it.
Probably why it was only for 1 car
Dude, it's because we are all broke. Affordability? Just hang on to your current vehicle
So biased, canceling my subscription to their magazine.
Is this a Toyota-paid channel? Seems to be.
Nope, it's a CR and Subaru paid channel. CR loves Subaru, it's almost like CR gives the pen to Subaru and tells them to write an article about one of their new models. CR has covered up for Subaru's shortcomings for quite a while.
Brand loyalty? That is a lot of BS!
A very bad motor show.😮😮😮
sorry, without chinese cars. all these are junk
Not a big fan of the woke CR or their opinions
Which explains why you came here😂
Sell outs.
