    These tutorials are excellent, really helped in understanding the FreeCAD 0.19 workflow to get productive. Thanks for your effort!

    This playlist is where I started as a newbie. Easy to follow an to the point. One thing to watch out for: Make sure to use the same version of FreeCAD as in the tutorials, else some of the steps may be different.
    Thanks for taking the time to help us.

    Great video! just started learning FreeCAD and looking to design and build a complete 6Axis robot. The chamfer worked for me set at 2.5mm, 5mm seemed to interfere with the model. Thanks again for the great tutorial, very well paced and easy to follow. Look forward to watching more of your tutorials.

    Excellent tutorial. Allowed me to create a model for a Nema11 with hollow shaft both ends using parameters. :)

    I really like this tutorial. Besides being yet another excellent tutorial, this one actually provides a working parametric model for common NEMA stepper motors - just change the spreadsheet in a couple of places and you've got a NEMA 23 Motor! Excellent! I did modify it to add a flat on the shaft (I haven't made it conditional yet) using the method you show in the Hose Adapter tutorial. I do have one question, however. If I want to include an optional second shaft (from the bottom as these motors exist as well), how can I conditionally add the new element (assuming that 'dimShaft2Len' > 0)?

    Good tutorials! I would like to learn how to do a cross knurling on a handle, I tried and kept having errors.

    I would like to create a chute and following one of you earlier tutorials I was able to create a cylinder with the correct length and thickness, but now haven't figured out the process to remove that portion of a cylinder that would result in a chute. Any suggestions?

    In regards to the spiral generator. I'm seeing an issue with overlap. So I should b creating a volumetric calculation of my shape and creating another formula for overlap based on vertical, z axis, volume. Maybe I'm overthinking it....

    Wait a minute, I'm using the latest FCAD, mine gives me 16DOF's when I have removed some of the lines..
    Also, I could not complete the chamfer part. Nothing happened, it was 1,0mm, and when I selected Spreadsheet.dimBodyChamf (5,00mm) nada happened.
    However I solved it myself..
    But thanks for a very good guide! Now I can use the dimensions of other stepper motors, and use that instead.

    Hi . Really enjoyed the video. ( But is your title incorrect - it is showing the title of your previous title - 'Hose Adapter'

      No, I was interested in finishing drawing with spread sheet.. To bad that we don't have web server which would freecad have finished drawing with tabell.. Would gladly put 1TB forshare on my nas

    Ur videos r great. Informative and paced well. I appreciate ur time and effort. I do have something I would like to see. A spiral generator. To be clear I am attempting to use the construction design tool to create a base at the bottom of the z axis to make spiral patterns from. The parameters of the generator or template I would like to use would b a fixed shape (cube, sphere, egg, or other 3d volume) that repeats consecutively from a fixed point outside the shape used on the construction aid tool. One after another in a decreasing size, by .39 or other parameter, to the center of the construction aid tool shape. Based on a length parameter. So how ever many repeated instances of a pre defined 3d shape or volume will show up stacked in a rising, up on the z axis, in a spiral in decreasing according to the overall length set. Does that describe enough of what I'm attempting? Lol.

      If you look through my channel there is a video of a spiral vase. Is that helpful?

  • @KeithKircher
    @KeithKircher 4 года назад

    Once the spiral generator is done I'm wanting to create multiple instances of the spirals, all the same, inside a cone or sphere that is solid and the spirals r hollow. With all the smallest ends of the spirals connecting at the same point.

    Thanks for this great tutorial! I was able to follow you just fine until the chamfer at the end. The largest chamfer I can set before it errors is about 2.9mm. If I go 3mm or higher, I get the following errors:
    4042.86 Document.cpp(3715): Failed to recompute Unnamed#Chamfer: Failed to create chamfer
    4061.41 Document.cpp(3715): Failed to recompute Unnamed#Chamfer: Resulting shape is invalid

      Set "Refine" property in PolarPattern to true

    • @tomws6336
      @tomws6336 4 года назад

      @@udayaprasanth9189 I discovered that this was necessary in a couple of @Martham Engineering tutorials so it must be that he has refine=true set as default. How do we do that?
