Programme note:
trio was created as part of the Voiceworks collaborative project at Guildhall, where composers are paired with singers and writers to create new works.
In this piece I wanted to involve the voice as an instrument within the three-person dynamic, rather than writing a song or something where the voice has particular eminence. The material is based on just two large chords, but which we are only ever able to hear different parts of through the small ensemble.
