I am completely agree that we lack natural good wingers. Trossard is good for clutch scoring and eyes for goal but he won't offering much as a winger. It's so sad seeing Martinelli was so good 2 years ago and I don't know what suddenly happened in the last 2 years. He just went off.
@@DefagoLion Martinelli got injured and that is why he is not fully fit and firing on all cylinders. Watching Arsenal,is real and not a Computer game ; the players are human beings .
@MrdotKstar I have always thought the Arsenal players were very fit and at Fulham they looked full of energy even in the 90 th minute .What evidence are you going to supply to support your claim?
Im an arsenal fan. But i want to shout out that defensive from fulham. Its not getting enough praise. They caugh us offsides rather than martinelli was floating offside or trying to edge the defender. Take a look at 31, Diop. He triggers the offside to jump, he is sitting lowest and then charges forward. Meaning the defense stops moving. Timber needed to hold that pass for a second longer. I think someone else on that ball makes rhe right call and disengages the offside. Timber could have been earlier with the pass, which i think if i remember was impossible so he needed to hold the pass another second. Martinelli was doing his part. Just like we have triggers on offense they have them in defense and we have to be better to read them in games like this.
Everyone missing the fact that it was Fulham's defense that caught Martinelli. I can't believe this is the first mention of it. Blaming Martinelli for being offside there dense. Other things could be mentioned about Martinelli anyway
There's so much that needs to change and so much we don't know. We don't know why Arteta isn't trusting Tierney and MLS (Is it stubbornness or fitness?). The only quality LB we have right now is Calafiori who's new, young, and injury prone. I don't think Zinny is as bad as some fans make him out to seem but the team needs a more physical and defensive player. Jorginho has been playing well but how long can we rely on a 32 year old CM who's getting his coaching licenses? I wouldn't mind Partey playing as a nominal RB / RCM in practice if there was a tactical adjustment to Saka's position so that he is not just left out to dribble past 3 defenders on his own when Partey's at RB. We've been making excuses for Martinelli since Trossard had that great run for us last season. While he still hasn't had a run of games with left footers supporting him, it is becoming more and more clear that Arteta's plans for the LW do not suit Martinelli's profile and after his outburst during the match yesterday you can tell he's frustrated too. With a right footed RB, Saka pushes towards the middle and either the RB or Odegaard hold width. Even when left footed LBs play, Martinelli is still the only one holding the width, with Calafiori and Zinchenko in the prime shooting positions. Arteta has a way he likes his team to play but he doesn't have a fit enough or sufficiently well-profiled squad to consistently implement the style. He's also unwilling to alter his system of play based on the players he has available (there's also no guarantee that this would even work with considering player fitness). Over the next few transfer windows we need: a ceiling-raising LW, a true Striker to compete with Havertz, a viable Saka backup, a left-footed LB option to back up/compete with Calafiori when Zinny and Tierney inevitably leave, and a true #6 or a backup left #8 (depending on what Rice's long term position will be). If we are able to get all of that and are still not winning titles, it is abundantly clear that Arteta is the problem.
Absolutely spot on with the four positions you mentioned. LW, Striker, Left 8, Left Back needed, then we can talk about back ups for Saka and others after that. Arteta is always the problem-from very poor tactical decisions tinkering and putting players in wrong positions to recruiting injury prone players or players not up to required standards to never ending excuses and being dishonest in his post match pressers to over-exaggerating his achievements, endlessly complimenting himself and his players that that they are all doing exceptional things and on and on, the list of this man’s weaknesses are far too many to count. Unfortunately, people only forget once we win two or three consecutive games and revert to their “ we trust the process “ mode 😂
Some things are so fckn annoying about Arteta, we are 1-1 and we are in dire need of a goal and instead of changing the system or tactics in order to score a goal he just subs player for players in the same position: Would love to see him at leasst try and win the game like, the Nwaneri and Odegaard sub!!!, why take Odegaard out with the form he is in when he could have taken Jorge off and put Rice in the dm position
I remember right before half time, Arsenal had a chance to attack before the whistle blows but they just kicking backwards wasting time when we are 1 goal down and I knew it’s pretty much over.
Liverpool seem to be way more direct at times and get the ball up the field quicker too. Arteta has changed his tactics to improve every now and then so he can’t do it but hopefully realizes he needs to make changes now. I wonder if we get Mitoma in January and can convert Martinelli to a no 9 ?
I think Edu requirements was sometimes poor, although Havertz has been great but signing him wasn't a necessary option because there were great st options for the same fee Havertz was bought and a dribbling winger hasn't been provided still

why would leao leave in January? And why would Newcastle let go of their star player in January? You're looking at 200 million for both, no way Arsenal are doing that
Martinelli issue is ability on the ball. Problem with the draw is that Arteta fails to Learn. Partey is good at RB that comes in to RCM, problelm is it makes it easier to Control Saka without a RB thats not willing to overlap. Partey feeds Odegaard and Saka far better and more consistent. (weve seen enough to say No more unless there is no RB, however not for Arteta). Timber is better than Ben White and is the best RB in the Team and gives Saka overlapping support, can beat a defender and cross, can carry from deep (simply the best we have for RB). If Timber is Fit and there is no Ben White, there should be no debate about whose to play RB(But Arteta has gone back). I dont mind leo as a back up but Martinelli is a failed project, either we turn him into a LB or simply sell him, trust me he cannot improve going forward. Martinelli prefers to run into a ball played through than to beat a man with quick fit, drop shoulder, fake a shot/cross, make stop and go runs like mbappe to outrun a defender. Sooner we upgrade on Martinelli the more likely we would be to win something.
We need to move on from Martinelli, Havertz, jorginho, kiwior, jesus etc. We lack players with individual quality in key positions... we have to be honest, Havertz is an empty player, an extra number on the pitch, martinelli is too predictable, he is 1 dimensional, Kiwior lacks in decision making, he fails to defend everytime a throughball is played to a player he should be marking...January is key to our success..imo, it won't make a difference in our title winning chance under Arteta, i hate to say, but we will not win a major title under his management
