Has any phone been made since the S8A that is as resistant? My S8 is a little dinged from all the drops (still no shattered screen) and i just wanted a new phone but im considering just getting anither one if it gets too dinged up

I'm not knocking the video at all, but do people really put their phones in the same pocket as their keys and change? I NEVER do that! My phone gets its own pocket, keys and change and whatever else go in my other pocket
ya, when I'm in a rush I sometimes by accident throw the phone in wrong pocket and when I hear the change or keys tap on the phone I remove it, but some people leave it

I'm thinking of upgrading my s6 active but not sure yet as iv also read a lot of complaints of it cracking. iv had a incident of my s6 active accedently falling off a car face down into the street and getting ran over multiple times. screen never cracked but it wasn't working eathier. I have toddlers throw my phone into the toilet and it fell into a puddle and worked. Do you think this phone will be as durable or better durability?
I think the S8 active will be as good if not better than the s6 active. Its 2 years newer and for the fact that the screen has that plastic layer over it, makes it more stronger and durable. If running it over with the car, going in the pool with the phone and throwing the phone around didn't cause it to break or to stop working, I'd say its a good choice. If I'm not mistaken the s6 active was a glass screen which can break, but the s8 active has a plastic layer over it to make the screen shatterproof. I'm sure if enough hard force is presented to the screen, it will break underneath but for the most part, whatever we threw at it, it survived.
Becca A I had this phone for 8 months now, and I'm all outdoors person, running, sports, ever work outside and I dropped it all over the place from different heights and speeds and let me tell you I have one scratch on the screen that's barley visible to me and I know it's there. This phone has not slowed down one bit. This is my first active phone and if I went to any other phones other then an active would be a major downgrade

euroalpha hi, we did a pool video on the s5 active, we probably will look into doing that for next year's model. However these are real world tests. Over the years I have had a lot of people asking me to fix phones that went into a washer or that had been on top of a car and gotten run over when the phone fell off so it happens more than you know thats why we did videos based off these factors :)

these tests are stupid. running a bicycle over most phones wont result in significant damage. coins are also silly for testing, most phones wont break with loose change in the pocket being jumbled around. Running your car over the phone is dumb too, as it is a rare occurrence to do so. none of these tests are reliable nor valid
well obviously no one is assuming coins will break a phone, its to see how easily the screen gets scratched with coins in the pocket..duh. Second the car is to show how strong the screen is with the additional plastic layer, its not to show daily life occurrences. The point which you obviously missed is to show the phone will withstand a lot. As the title says extreme durability test thus the car driving over the phone, it doesn't say daily life regular tests.
"extreme durability tests" so basically your entire video is moot experimentation as it doesnt apply to anyone who isnt a buffoon? are your tests even valid? how does a phone being run over actually stress the display? the different tire treads, pressures, car weight and testing surface all effect your tire tests. you can make excuses, but these tests arent worst their salt if they cant test the phone accurately. I will give you credit toward the coin test; however most people are going to be repeatably placing their phone into their pants multiple times a day with their spare change, Just shaking a pair of pants around with the phone and some change isnt a valid test on account of that humans arent legless beings who have change bouncing around hitting their phones. most scratches are caused by friction between a hard suface and a relatively softer surface not impact on the two sufaces
I can tell you that the majority of the phone screens would break and the housings/cases would warp or crack if it were ran over by a car. And I am referring to the same exact conditions this S8 active was done under, on concrete, flat, and tire treads does not make a difference. You are just pulling straws here and trying to find something to say. Its the weight and pressure applied to the screen and phone. Originally we thought either the touch layer would crack or the screen would bleed underneath it from breaking under the pressure. However the combination of the shatterproof plastic layer over the screen and the rugged housing of the s8 active, the screen did not get damaged nor did the housing warp or crack or anything. If this is not interesting you, that's fine. Go watch other tests people do that actually meats your requirements.
I ran my car over with my phone in Feb! It was terrible bc I used it to work. It was a cheapy 15$ alcatel that fell out of my car as I was putting a gate code in at a neighborhood. I let go of the brake on accident and the phone had landed in front of the driver side rear tire!!! It was such a horrible day. Anyways I kept that phone and it still works lol I continued to work delivery with it but eventually the battery shitted out and I decided to stop being stubborn and get a new phone, the s8 active. Only had it for 6 weeks or so but I love it and its much easier for me to work now!! Dropped it a few times and it's fine. Got a case for it too. 140$ off FB, great deal!
I was homeless and that little 15$ alcatel was the first phone I bought upon getting sober and getting my life together again.. I hadn't had a smart phone since the s4 came out :(
Anyways, i got the alcatel in 2016 and dropped it in the toilet a few times, ran it over with my car and dropped it countless times and it still works! It has to be plugged in while you use it or the battery runs out quick but it kinda holds a sentimental place in my heart LMAO. I love my active though and I am so grateful to have this phone. Also I have noticed iPhones break and you have to keep installing their software that eventually gives out. I am happy with this!
