  • It's time for another Pygame year recap! It's a lot of stuff I already showed in my 10 year video, but tradition is tradition. I focused on a lot of framework stuff this year with Pygpen and Pygnet. I've also gotten a lot more comfortable with my new pipeline with ModernGL.

Had to put this out for tradition even though a lot of this stuff was in the 10 year video. New stuff coming soon.

All of this in 1 year and in pygame too at that. I know it's probably really annoying at this point but I'll never stop singing your praises 👏

I am so happy to see PyGame being used to make such lovely looking games. After seeing a few of your videos, I am even more confident in my choosing PyGame to enter the world of game development. Thank you.

I've been using pygame for the first time last year during ludumdare and I was incredibly surprised how productive I was and how things flowed naturally. Definitely going to use it more in the future.

your pygame projects inspired me to look into pygame as a viable gamedev engine and was able to make and release a game with it on Steam last year (free to play). totally inspiring channel, thx!

yo this is highly impressive and really well done improvement on the learning journey as well Fluffy. I must admit seeing you tackle project after project for the past couple years now. It's actually making me wanna go back into re-learning pygame again after a year and a half break to learning godot as a backup. I hope you had a great year this year. Thanks for being inspiring from another learning gamedev to another. Amazing stuff. Seeing all the projects you've been creating these past few years. Has been encouraging me a ton on wanting to re-learn pygame as well as a backup. Thanks so much fluffypotato.

thanks for creating the discord server that helped us get to know each other and get to places we never thought that we would accomplish. Your tutorials helped me and a lot of others to continuously make games. You have also proved that making games in pygame isn't so bad and pushed what little pygame was for. We cant wait for your future projects!

    Greetings and Salutations!
I have a question, and if you have a moment, or if anyone has a moment, I would appreciate your input. When participating is a Game Jam did you find it a detriment because you could not publish your game as a web game? I know many people will not download a game and play it but they will play a game that will play in a web browser.
I ask this because a lot of the engines will port to a web application. I would prefer using a framework rather than an engine. However, most frameworks have difficulty porting to a web application.
Thank you for your help, and as always you are doing a great job. Thank you.

Hi, I'm new to game programming, you mentioned your new "pipeline" with modernGL in the description and I've seen this term in others videos, but I couldn't find anything that explained it clearly, do you have some source so I can learn about? I'm confused if its a human process for CI/CD, a method to treat data or some kind of design pattern... I'm really confused about it, It would be awesome if you could give me any orientation where I can find information about. Thanks for your videos, and if you can answer this comment too!

All of those games looks really impressive, but I am wondering about one thing. Most of projects here have pixelart-ish graphics style, is it just purely because of some sort of artistic causes or does the pygame low speed for rendering graphics on higher resolutions also played some role during the process of visual design here?
