    Amazing! Thanks for posting this. While I never got to see an Alpha in its prime I did grow up on a first gen Beta with most of the lighting pieces at the time such as the roboscans and other elements like the working blue screens.

    Great video as usual, I always love being able to see Alphas during Studio C's prime complete with dark showrooms, rope lights, curtains and especially the Late Night suit (which for me is second after the Tux for Chuck's best outfit)!
    Such a shame that you'll never see them like this anymore... Especially since I've never seen an Alpha in person. I only just had my very first Studio C experience last year, and unfortunately it was a C(r)appa...

      Thanks, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed seeing this footage!
      :)
      Sorry to hear you didn't get to see the 'full' version of Studio C.
      This version shown in this video is one of the last 'Alpha' stages to be installed, which in the case of this Location was August of 2000.
      After that, the less expensive and less exciting 'Beta' version was rolled out nationally in 2001 to new Stores.
      'C(r)appa' came a couple of years later, even further cheapening the experience.

      I'm from Wisconsin which is notable in two ways when it comes to their Studio C's:
      * The Alpha that's in Brookfield is now the oldest public Studio C in existence after the original Montfort, TX location closed in mid-2001. In fact, I've heard that Brookfield's bot was the third one ever made by Garner Holt to the point that his body shell has a huge #3 written on it.
      * Betas actually went nationwide around late 2000/early 2001. The one that's in Green Bay (which replaced a 3-stage) is one of the earliest of it's kind as it was installed in December 2000, and even had the rare TV shaped blue screen that was only at early Betas like that and Oceanside, CA until sometime around mid-2014.

      Yeah they really were much better back then, I Mean even though my old location used to be a Studio C beta it was still great, ( I only been to an Alpha in person once ) unfortunately it was given the 2.0 treatment, to which I'll say, I'd rather take a watered down studio C over that at least.

    I remember when the Tulsa location had this stage. I’ve been wanting to drive up there and revisit it before the stage got removed however I recently heard it got the 2.0 remodel back in 2019. Really makes me sad how the Chuck e Cheese I used to go as a kid got rid of the animatronic. Last time I went there was probably like 2007 and I don’t remember this many effects on the stage.

    This is awesome to see! Also, I wonder if it’s a coincidence, or if the roboscan is programmable because of the tropical flower light in “Don’t hurry to worry”

    • @CircusShowplace
      @CircusShowplace  5 лет назад +6

      Yes, it was indeed programmable and not just a coincidence.
      There were several 'shapes' those Roboscan lights could shift to, and back at the time this was filmed they were often incorporated into the show.
      During intermissions, these lights would randomly shift images around on the floor in front of the staging area.
      A neat effect that sadly disappeared as the years went by, mainly due to maintenance and bulb costs.

    • @JoCox4048
      @JoCox4048 5 лет назад +3

      Cool! Unfortunate that they aren’t used anymore :(

    • @CircusShowplace
      @CircusShowplace  5 лет назад +2

      Agree.
      A lot of the special lighting used for the Studio C 'Alpha' set ups back in the early 2000s were expensive to keep going.
      When a buib would eventually burn out and need a replacement, those speciality bulbs were often steeply priced.
      The 'Warp Light' exspecially...it was around $70 to replace its interior bulb!
      This is why so many Stores often had the 'Warp' effect missing.
      They didn't want to or couldn't budget the money to pay to replace the bulb.
